I've given True Colors Hair more chances than I should have, and my last visit was the final straw. I came in asking for a gorgeous caramel color and somehow walked out with the darkest purple hair I've ever seen. When I brought up the issue, instead of trying to help, the owner Angie dragged me into the back room and berated me, telling me it was my fault that the stylist chose the wrong color. She refused to offer a refund, refused to let the stylist fix it, and showed zero professionalism. This isn't the first time I've had a bad experience here, but it's definitely the last. The management and staff are unbelievably rude, and I'm honestly shocked Angie is still able to keep this business running with the way she treats people. Save yourself the stress! Literally any other salon will treat you better. I will never be returning. read more

First time here as I'm still on the hunt for a new stylist. I got an appointment the next day after I called which was great as I know many salons are packed after people coming out of quarantine. I didn't require much, just a trim and a consult for color. Thankfully Danielle had a time slot big enough that we decided to do an all over color and cut which saved me a second trip. I have a guy friend visiting in less than week so I wanted my grays to go bye bye lol I did have to wear a mask, which we worked around it. I wish they would've provided disposable masks for those doing dye treatments though as my only homemade mask now has brown black dye stains on it. I don't blame the stylist for it, it's almost impossible to avoid, but disposable masks for color treatment clients just seems like a good idea. Especially those clients paying higher color costs (not necessarily myself.) The stylist wasn't overly chatty as I'm an introvert and socially awkward and small talk usually stresses me. We talked a little but mostly she let me just close my eyes to relax. The color is exactly what I wanted. My color is now all even after doing box dye for a year. The trim was a true trim (in the past at other salons they've chopped off 2-6" when asking for a trim ) so now I have lovely colored hair and it actually has some shape and body to it! $40 for the cut $130 for the all over color I didn't get the best pic, but I took one anyway with a Snapchat filter as I was naked faced and don't like that lol Recommendations: - Masks for color treatment clients for as long as you require masks to be worn. - The TV for the dryers to have something like HGTV to watch with sound or subtitles as I didn't care for the commercials of the place I was already in playing or the slideshow pictures and videos of the owners adventures. Or offering at least a magazine selection. - Waiting area was not 6ft spaced out for social distancing. While requirements are lifted in the state I feel like if you're going to make us wear a mask and sanitize our hands you could space the seating better. I am unfortunately going to have to update my review. My partner scheduled an appointment for a hair cut, and rather than cut his hair, his stylist spent the entire 20 minutes he stayed complaining about his curls and calling his hair "matted" and "tangled" (I checked, it was no more tangled than any curls get during the course of a day, and certainly something a hair stylist could work through with little issue) in front of other patrons. She wet his hair, still insulting him, and then decided she simply was not going to cut his hair, citing his hair as "too long" (that's...why he was trying to get it cut...?). Rather than try to work anything out and find a different stylist who is comfortable cutting curls, they let him walk out with wet hair and feeling awful about himself. I cannot in good faith recommend this salon anymore after seeing how unprofessionally what should have been a simple haircut went. I am still massively grateful for the work Kay was able to do on my hair and for how wonderfully she treated me during my last appointment, but I sadly don't think I'll be back for touch ups after this. read more

I have been bringing my boys here for years to get their haircuts. Today, I brought two of my teenage boys to get their bi-yearly haircut. They began cutting one son and then sat the other down. When I explained how he wanted his haircut, a few inches off with a little more layers than before. That's when I was told, since we're cutting his hair like a girl and blow drying and styling then it will be $60. I said, I've never paid that much ever and they don't blow dry and style his hair. Their hair is typically hockey player shoulder length hair. They already started on one of my son's hair, at which I had to pay $60. They wouldn't go back on the price even after they could see in the history I've never paid that much and when I stated they don't do blow drying or styling (as you don't blow dry and style curly hair on men). The manager (not Angie) I spoke to was rude and her only response was well the girl before got a trim and her hair was really long and it was $75. It's been a sad couple of days for me. Angie's True Colors Hair has blocked me on Facebook to avoid an honest and negative review. I say this because that's how I found them. **DO NOT go to ANGIE'S TRUE COLORS HAIR on Dimond for your services, please! They are located next to Bed, Bath & Beyond. I went in on Saturday, April 3, 2021, to get an ombre on my hair. By the time they finished, my hair was fried and beyond saving. Between Saturday and today, at least seven inches was cut off. Today, the owner, Angie, asked me to go to her salon to see the damage. She told me that all I had to do was put a hair mask and straighten it with a hair straightener. Are you serious?! You want me to do this daily? I paid an outrageous amount of money with no offer of any sort of refund. So unprofessional. They also have you sign a waiver saying they use chemicals. I should have seen the red flag there. Today, I went somewhere else and had another five inches cut off, for a total of seven inches cut when I wasn't going to get any. This place gives me great clips vibes, but with salon pricing. They claim to have walk-ins but when trying to make an appointment it's always a few days away. Furthermore, despite taking walk-ins, you cannot add any other services on to a booked appointment, which is very unusual for a salon. At many of the locally owned upscale places in town, they offer extra services to me - wouldn't they want to make more money? I guess not. They also were excited to tell me how they logged my services into their computer so any stylist could help me in the future. I don't like that. read more

Not to speak ill of another salon - they tried and were not available that day. Well, needless to say, there was unavoidable damage and breakage. I needed a quick fix for an upcoming interview and looking like a cat who put it's paw in an electrical sock wasn't gonna cut it. Came here for a full color and cut to try start over with a new do. And Jo did an amazing job! She colored to match my natural hair color and dark enough to fill in the bleach areas. I had an appt with MJ to look at options for my dyed-but-growing-out-white hair. MJ was very patient, did a strand test, and my (dyed for decades) hair did not respond well. She could have charged a lot of bucks to continue with what I told her I wanted, but instead she told me honestly that my hair was just not going to respond in the way I wanted and she was unwilling to damage it beyond repair for a result I would not be able to obtain. So I got a nice trim instead along with more realistic expectations :). MJ was patient, kind and professional. She gave me some ideas for when my white has grown out more, and when I get to that place I will be back to see her. read more

Claudia is AMAZING. I got a blonde balayage done but it wasn't quite as blonde as I had really wanted... so after a few days of thinking about it, I emailed to let Angie's Salon know that I was slightly disappointed but still happy with the service and within two hours I received an email back saying to call in the morning to set up an appointment free of charge. They went above and beyond with customer service and making sure I was happy with the outcome of my hair. I was greeted right away both times I arrived to the salon and they make you feel super comfortable and welcomed there! I can be pretty particular with how I like my hair and Claudia talked through it with me and helped me out so much. I was charged $580 for root touch-up, highlights and styling(??). I mentioned I wanted toward gold/blond and ended up with orange; had a foto of style I wanted; instead she simply trimmed and left exactly as it was before. If you are prepared to pay high/high dollar (I still cannot get over the price, altho she did quote me for color and root touch up around $250); still, I got an unprofessional coloring and styling. Absolutely do not recommend. I went in today to have my hair detangled and have it colored. I called in the morning to book an appointment, due to my normal stylist moving town. I explained my situation to Angie about my hair being very long and very tangled. It was going to be a challenge. She understood the situation and booked my appointment for 2pm. I arrived for my appointment and she informed me that it would be $45 an hour to detangle my hair(I expected this.). I told her that would be fine. After getting to work and getting most of my hair detangled, roughly 2 hours of work, we went into dying it. I asked for my entire head to be dyed pitch black. (I already have black hair, but roughly 3 inches of grow out, which is light brown.) I wanted my entire head to be dyed because the black towards my ends was starting to fade. She informed me that it would be $350 to dye my entire head. I thought that was extremely high for just some black dye, but I didn't speak up. She informed me that she would be doing my roots first then the rest after because the different shades would process at different times. I thought it was pretty strange that she did my roots, waited for it to process then brought my over to the sink to wash it out. After my hair was wet she put and my head still in the sink, I believe she put toner in it, to "dye" the rest of my hair. I was pretty fed up with the entire ordeal by the point and made it pretty known I wanted to leave, but she kept saying I needed a trim and she wanted to curl it. Long story short she charged my $523 for the untangle and "full dye" I was there from 2-6pm, an hour of that was the "dye." I paid $523 to get my roots touched up and my hair detangled. My hair does look a lot better but digging into someone's wallet like that is not professional. I have never been charged that much in my entire life to get my hair done. Charging someone $350 for a solid color is ridiculous on its own, my hair was already black. If you're having a bad hair day, save your money and do not come here. read more

Made an appointment for my 6 year old son to get a haircut before his kindergarten graduation. The appointment was for 6pm the day before the graduation. I got a call a little after 4pm on the day from their scheduler letting me know they have to reschedule my son due to their own issues with whoever did their scheduling. She tried to tell me I made an online appointment and that those aren't always accurate but I had to correct her and let her know that I called their salon two days prior and spoke with someone regarding the appointment and set it up that way. I did tell her it's for a graduation that was the very next day. She offered to schedule the next day at 9:30 but he would be in school during that time and we couldn't make it. She then told me I hope I gave u enough time to call somewhere else tonight. But I feel like it's not my fault someone messed up the schedule and to call me with such short notice when they definitely could see the schedule as it was when I called two days ago is just not okay. I'm really disappointed. I know mistakes happen and usually I wouldn't think twice about it but it's still very disappointing because of the event happening tomorrow and the mistake being their fault. read more

Was offered soda/water/coffee hence the two stars. Waited 50 minutes before I finally asked about how much longer I'd have to wait and was told "20 mins or less". Don't lie to me, the receptionist should've told me I had a much longer wait to begin with as we would've found another haircut place. We left. My son still needs a haircut and is going to be late to our other activity in 45 mins as we still have a couple errands to run. Biggest pet peeves, I hate being lied to and I hate wasting time. The place is cute and trendy and had good coffee. She was specific about what she wanted: just a trim and not too short. She ended up with a boyish looking cut and completely different style than what she had. The stylist, Chelsie, did what she wanted. It is a nice haircut, but not at all what was requested. I went in for a root touch up for hair that is brown with blonde highlights. The stylist colored brown all over and then waived the consent for services page in my face and said "that's what you asked for". When I asked for the manager, I was brought to her chair where she stood off to the side with her arms crossed and the consent for services in her hand. She said that it would be an easy fix to tough up the highlights, but then said that I got what I asked for when I said "root touch up". Really? You just ignore the blonde strands and put brown all over? That's a root touch up? The manager then said "I don't know why you're upset. Either I fix it and charge you another $150-250 to touch up the highlights, or you should be happy with what you got. You signed the consent for services that said root touch up." By the way- "root touch up" was all it said. Any stylist worth their salt would see the blonde and wonder why someone who's brown roots are showing through the highlights would want it colored brown... My hair now looks like it is in desperate need of a root touch up and I paid $150 for it to look this way. read more

This place is extremely overpriced. Every place I've ever been it cost up to $200 for both highlights and a cut. The girl I usually go to charges $160-170 total for balayage and a cut. Unfortunately she's on maternity leave so I had to find something else. My boyfriends has been here once and recommended it, although he did say the highlights (he's never colored his hair before) and cut didn't turn out how he wanted Angie reassured him it was what was best. I looked at pricing and it says a full highlight or balayage starts at $150. I set the appointment and during the consultation Angie said my hair was light enough (it's not. I last got it done in June, it's now faded and grown out) and told me if she did what I wanted it would destroy my hair, she also said if we did that it would damage my roots so bad it would fall out. I pointed out to her that my hair hasn't been touched since June so there's no coloring on the roots, that's when she finally said she could do it but it would start at $300, and that's just the estimated starting cost with no guarantee it won't cost more when I'm done. She also said it was $50 for a haircut. I told her I didn't want a haircut, just the color since it was already almost double what it normally is. She started saying how damaged and fried my hair is, it's all split ends, she would have to cut off at least 4 inches otherwise the highlights would make it look worse. Finally she gave me something to sign agreeing to the $300 minimum. At that point I told her never mind her services were too expensive. She made a comment about how no good stylist would charge under $200 for what I wanted and how they're just going to fry my hair. I went up the street to my usual place, it cost a little bit more since it wasn't my usual girl but at least it wasn't nearly double. I would never recommend Angie's. I made an appointment on Saturday for a color. I had gone previously for highlights. I got what I thought was the color and left thinking it looked great. I got home And looked at my hair closer and noticed that my grays weren't covered. I was disappointed but I called the salon immediately and explained my situation and made an appointment for today to get it fixed. Angie asked me What was going on. I explained to her and showed her my gray hairs and she said "what do you expect, it's been a month." I told her I was just here on Saturday! She said that I said that I didn't want a color and that I got a toner. I told her that wasn't true. I wouldn't spend my time at a salon only to get my hair partially done. She was very defensive. After me arguing with her she said "well, I can do your hair but you'll have to pay." I don't mind paying but acting like I want to get something for free is bs. Wow!!! After getting sick of waiting around from the girl I have been seeing for over 20 years and I am very particular about my hair! I feel like i was raped! I was quoted $70 for my color and the gentleman said my hair needed a deep condition and it wasn't very much more???? I work hard for my money an additional $20 is a lot!! I was charged $155 for my services! I of course tipped on top of that!! didn't come home with products!!!
