I found this location on Groupon and saw the good reviews and decided to give a chance. It is in little neck so it was a little far from me but I was able to find street parking easily. It is located in a very nice suite with two lash beds. They have a very nice snack display stocked with waters and chips. My lash tech was very nice and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. She explained the different style options I had and helped me pick the best one for my eyes. I was so comfortable that I took a nice nap. I felt no burning at all and loved the result! Bait and switch? I started coming to SoHo Lashes back in 2016. I was with Ella (loved her!) until she left and then I was with Julie (also loved her!) until we both moved out of the area in 2019. Recently, I started flying back to NY again and on two occasions, have gone back to SoHo for my lashes. Since Kate was the only tech that I knew from back in the days, I asked for her but she was booked up both times so I had Jaime (she did a great job). This third time when I called, I was offered 2 appt times for Kate, Wed 3:15 or 4:45. I opted for the 4:45 since I was worried my flight would be delayed. Luckily, flight went smoothly and I arrived earlier than expected so I called and asked if Kate was still available for the 3:15 and the receptionist told me yes and moved me up. When I got there, I checked in with the receptionist ( a new one) and saw Kate and another tech sitting at their empty beds. I started to walk toward Kate but was instead told to go to the other technician. Hmmm...a little confused. I thought...maybe there were two techs named Kate? So I asked if her name was Kate too and she looked at me wide-eyed. I explained that my appointment was with Kate and I pointed to the real Kate. At this point, the receptionist came over and said, "Kate's customer had to change her time so we put you with Summer". I told her that I had specifically asked for Kate when I called and she told me that Kate would be seeing me. So now, the real Kate comes over and says, "But you've never had me". AHHHHHHHHHHH.....so they were banking on me not knowing who Kate really was and tried to do a bait and switch. I guess Kate forgot that she did my lashes once, many moons ago, when she first started at SoHo. When I told her this, she looked shocked and tried to repeat the same thing that the receptionist said, about her customer needing to switch the time. I didn't want Summer to feel bad since this probably was not her fault, so I did stay and she did my lashes. My issue with this situation was the fact that they did not tell me they were switching techs. At any point in time, they could have called or even informed me upon my arrival but they did not. I am not opposed to trying new techs and would've been fine with the switch, but the fact that they just tried to pull the wool over my eyes does not sit well with me. I've truly loved this place and have been a loyal customer over the years but sadly I won't be coming back. I'm not going to spend my money at an establishment that is dishonest with me. read more

Having this be my 2nd experience with eyelash extensions, I sort of had an idea this time of what I wanted so I was excited to try a new place. Overall pleased with the environment (small, but very cozy & peaceful), but EXTREMELY disappointed with how rude the man at the front desk was. My technician was super friendly and overall it wasn't what I had asked for but I was still pleased with how it came out. As I was leaving, the front desk gave me a tip envelope with the different percentages to tip. They suggested I gave $19, but I wanted to gave $10 because that is what I felt I should tip. No one should EVER feel pressured to tip!!! As I was leaving, he looked in the envelope, called me back and sarcastically said that it was a little lower than the minimum percentage to gave. When I went on to say that they cannot force me to tip any specific amount, he got extremely rude and unprofessional saying uh whatever. I found Soholashes through Groupon. They were very tricky with their wording on their groupon voucher-140 "Mink" lashes for $55. (Obviously not real mink at that price) Too good to be true I thought, but let me try anyway. I called and was able to get an appointment the same day. The drive there was further than I thought and I was late; but Emily was still accommodating. I arrived, found street parking in front and walked in- at first sight the place was very clean and pretty. It smelled wonderful as well. Emily explained that the 140 lashes was for both eyes-70 each. Ahhhh I thought, I knew it couldn't be 140 lashes per eye at that price. She did try to up sell me a few times and I decided to go for 90 faux mink lashes per eye at $70. I chose the J curl with the cat eye look with 14 length at the end. Very dramatic. I prefer the faux mink to the "silk" lashes because they are lighter and softer. Closer to real looking lashes. I've had my lashes done before and this by far was the quickest. I was laying there less than an hour. She was very light handed and I had no discomfort. The lashes look beautiful BUT you can clearly see that my left eye has more lashes than my right. I will update this review when I see how long they last. They look great but at $70, I expected better. Now I have to go back and get my right eye filled in more. Ughhh. read more

Went here with a GROUPON. Service was great and the deal was worthwhile. The girls sat down with me and showed me the different curls (J style or C style) and styles (sexy, drama and pretty? I think). I went with J style and the sexy (I believe) which was the more cat eye style. The room is very small and there are two beds in one room. Not a lot of privacy but it didn't bother me. My girl was super sweet and took her time. Overall, I loved it. Knocked off one star because the lashes did fall off rather quickly. I didn't expect a full two week wear but I was bummed it starting falling a lot after 3 days. It's even weirder that my left eye fell WAY faster than my right eye. Had me looking crazy! All in all, I think the service was good considering I used a Groupon and didn't feel awkward about it at any point. I've been going here for years. Before finding them I tried different eyelash salons and the glue was always thick and lashes didn't appear to natural in my opinion. I get a variety of length depending on my mood but it always looks natural and you can not see any glue and most importantly they are consistently good at what they do. This is the place I found near by my house. This place is very cozy compared to other lash salons (I don't like other places having beds right next to each other..) I tried with both technicians Hailey and Kate so far but they seemed they are all experienced!! They have three beds but used two beds in separated rooms. I've had her finish my lashes in 30-35 mins before and on another day, she may take longer. Then I was told that I have to give them my credit card information to hold the appointment and I will be charged $15 for any changes to the appointment. I explained that I do not feel comfortable giving out my credit card information over the phone because I was a victim of identity theft and I ensured her that I will be there tomorrow. So much glue! My lashes looked good initially, but within the first week were falling out in clumps because they became so dry due to all the glue! I've gotten eyelash extensions atleast 30 times and have never had this happen. My natural lashes are now pretty much non existent thanks to these extensions.
