The ambience is nice and clean. Yumi's job was impecable! She did my lashes in 45 minutes (most places take at least an hour) and they look natural and very professional. Great job! The issue I had was that my lashes started falling out much earlier than expected, literally within the first few days going into the second week, even though I do not wear makeup, do not use any oil-based products, and did not rub my eyes. Lashes are not supposed to fall out this quickly, which was disappointing given how beautiful they looked initially.

Since all my favorite lash extension salons either closed during covid or relocated to an area that…read moreonly has paid street parking, I was looking for a new spot closer to home. I decided on trying out Fay Lashes since it was only a 2-block walk from my apartment. I was thrilled after my first appointment for a new set, they really went above and beyond in making sure the style was exactly what I wanted and took care in giving me soft and voluminous lashes. Unfortunately, every other appointment over the next 6 months was a disappointment. At first, I expressed to them that the long inner corners were uncomfortable and poking my eyes, and requested they be shortened but they told me I had to buy a brand new set if I wanted that done - which, as you all know, is much more expensive than a routine fill appointment. Second, once you're done they make you hold the fan to dry the glue yourself and basically try to rush you out the door even if your eyes are still tearing from the fumes. Third, I started noticing that they began to use fewer but larger clusters of lashes at every fill, which creates the illusion of volume but leaves obvious gapping when one falls out a few days later from being too heavy for my natural lashes. It got so out of hand that I would be "done" in only 15 minutes when I know full well that a normal 3-week follow-up appointment takes at least 45 mins to an hour when applied correctly. I did not appreciate the shortcuts they were taking, so I took my business elsewhere.

The studio owner and tech is amazing! (Her name is Alena or Elena?) I was so impressed, I had to jump on here and rave! The studio is located in a professional office building and not on a ground floor business front. I wasn't expecting all that but was so pleasantly surprised to see a beautiful shop, fresh and new and sparkling clean! Such a cute pampering vibe - I was welcomed and we sat to have a consultation. She was great at answering my questions and going over all of the various options. I went for C-Curl, length 12. And can I say again how awesome she was? She is by far the most meticulous and experienced lash tech I have ever been to. She was so thorough (so if you're in a rush or the type that wants in and out - you're out of luck!) - she was gentle and took her time - carefully adjusting and rechecking until the very end. You'll see in my other reviews - I am a huge advocate for giving recognition to local neighborhood businesses that really do things right. We want these businesses to thrive and stay around!
