‼‼ DO NOT BOOK LILAC AND LACE AS YOUR WEDDING COORDINATORS ‼‼…read more We had Lilac and Lace @lilacandlacesd as our coordinators for our 10/11/2025 wedding in Orange County, CA. [For context: ~230 guests, Vietnamese-American wedding with 12pm Catholic mass ceremony + 5pm reception at a museum.] I hope and pray that no other bride/groom will experience the level of stress, frustration, and disappointment that we did on our wedding day. I will say that leading up to our wedding, our calls/texts with Ariana (owner) were helpful; it was the day-of services that failed us when we needed them most. Ariana notified us 9/29 via email that she needed to have surgery the following week and would be handing off our day to a different coordinator (Kez) and assistant, as well as providing another assistant for free - she assured us we were in good hands. (As a nurse, I completely understand prioritizing health and how difficult it is to get urgent surgeries scheduled, and fully agreed with Ariana that it was the right thing for her to do.) First, Kez and her team DID NOT SHOW UP TO OUR CEREMONY. Multiple logistical/crowd control issues occurred during/after our mass, which would have been prevented by the presence of a coordinator. Ariana states this was due to a miscommunication and took responsibility for this. The call time at the reception venue was 2pm, Kez did not arrive until 2:30pm and one of the assistants did not arrive until after 3pm (as 3pm is when my husband and I arrived on-site and we were informed by Kez that the other assistant was on her way.) The assistants never introduced themselves to us, I can't even tell you their names. When we arrived, Kez did not know about our outfit changes or where our grand entrances were from; this was covered in detail at our venue walkthrough (which was only attended by Ariana, and should have been communicated to Kez.) Other errors that occurred during the night: songs switched for parents' grand entrances (Kez then asked if we wanted our parents to reenter, obviously not as that would be extremely embarrassing and disruptive), our second grand entrance in our traditional attire not caught on photo/video because Kez did not notify them on time (again Kez asked if we wanted to reenter), Kez asking us if we were ready for the MC to announce cake cutting even though we wanted unannounced cake cutting , failure to announce last call on our late-night food truck so there was a lot of extra - the list goes on. Again, these were all covered in detail during planning calls and at the walk through. Ariana assured us that a coordinator/team member would be with us at all times during the reception - however, we could not find them at multiple points throughout the night. My MOH ended up coordinating the majority of the evening and handling communication with the coordinators, as I was on the verge of tears every time I had to see them. Kez and her two assistants spent nearly 20 min tying a ribbon onto our welcome sign (which we did not ask them to do), our photographer actually had to shoo them out of the background of a shot. Lilac and Lace's coordination packages also promised free content creation with raw photo/video and a real delivered within 72hrs of the event - we never received this. We sent a strongly worded email to the company, and received an apology response that was very emotional but did not take full accountability. We have received a 50% refund although we requested a FULL refund. If you have only one takeaway from this review, let it be this: Booking Lilac and Lace for our wedding was our greatest regret - their unprofessionalism, lack of accountability, and inability to coordinate RUINED our day. Please PLEASE book someone else to be your wedding coordinator - we wish we had. (Wish we had seen Denice M's Yelp review beforehand as her experience sounds eerily similar to ours) UPDATE: As of 1/26/26 we have received a thoughtful and sincere apology via email and the full refund.

They had everything I…read moreneeded to create a beautiful boho picnic party in my backyard for my extended family and friends. While there are quite a few rental companies in the OC, I found them to be super responsive and genuinely interested in helping me execute the vision I had. They even helped guide me with styling and layout options that I couldn't have come up with myself. They were super helpful and talented in working with the space I had and were knowledgeable about which pieces they thought would work the best in each area. Delivery was prompt and easy, as was pick up. Will definitely be using them again for future parties... they have the cutest stuff and are so reasonably priced compared to the rest of the vendors out there!

I paid $200 for this dinner, which was supposedly 75% off normal price. By my calculation, that would mean the normal price would be $200 per person and so I thought it should be pretty nice. When I scheduled for my birthday, Ben Root (the chef), gave me two options, chicken or salmon. I asked him how that was an $800 value as the groupon said. This was disappointing to me, but I went ahead and picked the salmon. The week before my birthday, I confirmed with him that we were still all good for the dinner, which I would have expected him to do. He did say we were on for the following week and I was excited to have somebody else cook for my birthday. On the morning of my birthday, he sent an email saying he had to cancel. He also said that he would honor my groupon past the expiration date and we would re-schedule. At this point, it became impossible to reach him and when I did, he never had any dates available. I tried at this point to get a refund for the groupon, but when they contacted the chef, he said he was going to provide me the meal. We finally agreed on a date, which was supposed to be tomorrow night Sept 8. I contacted him a couple days ago to find out, again, if we were all set. I just now received another email canceling on me. I have gotten a refund from groupon. This chef is extremely unreliable and unprofessional, as well as being dishonest with the services he puts out there. If he is going to offer a deal that is an $800 value, he should provide that. My intent was to try him out and then hire him for a larger party in the future. I can guarantee you that I would never hire him.

From the start Will, who signed us up, was most helpful and really knew his information. We clicked instantly and it was such a pleasure to talk with him and meet him in person. We signed up for the tasting before signing with Abbey Catering and that was such a great experience. We got to meet Will in person and there was so much food to try and luckily bring home. After meeting Will we really had a great feeling and signed up within that week. The food was incredible at the tasting, and it was hard choosing which entrée and hours d'oeuvres to choose from since everything was so good. Chuck, our wedding coordinator, was beyond great and so helpful. He was such an asset to have on our side and really made the day go smooth. He was also so friendly and great to work with. We really felt like we made friends with our Abbey team There were absolutely no hiccups whatsoever and I was so calm the whole day. David, our catering lead, was another amazing team member. He was right there to offer us food first and make sure we had enough of our share. The rest of the catering team always made us a priority too and I was very hungry after the ceremony in between pictures so that was so great. We ordered the following for tray passed hors d'oeuvres: petite beef wellington, wild mushroom arancini, bruschetta, and bacon wrapped stuffed dates. We opted for the dual entrée of the boneless short ribs, and the panko-herb crusted chicken with vegetables and the truffle smashed potatoes. All were so good and I wish I could eat them all again Our guests could not stop raving about the food. They even made dietary restriction meals for several of our guests, and they said it was one of the best vegan/vegetarian meals they have ever had. We really were impressed with the food and so glad we went with Abbey as that was important for us to have really good tasting food. We opted for the whole package with their vendors for flowers, DJ, photographer, and cake. Best decision ever!!! We had Emerald and Ivy for the florist and my goodness Mishele, and the Abbey team put together exactly what I pictured in my mind! Such beautiful flowers and we rented bud vases and candles from her. DJ Abel from the Wedding Entertainment Collective was beyond amazing! He played our songs and knew the vibes we were going for. The dance floor was a hit, and our guests were dancing the whole night. Everyone was telling us the DJ was so good! Misha, our photographer, was amazing and made us feel so comfortable. The pictures are so beautiful! The cake and mini cupcakes from Sugar Bears Sweet Provisions were out of this world! I'm so glad we saved our wedding cake because we ate it the next day. Our guests loved the mini cupcakes too and we even had enough to give out at treats and take home. We really are so grateful we decided to go with Abbey catering. They really went above and beyond. The whole team, Will, Chuck, David, and the caterers were 10 out of 10 Thank you so much and to the Abbey vendors for making our day even more special!

Troy set our minds at ease by ensuring us our non-standard wedding could easily come to life because all of their offerings and services were fully customizable. On top of that, he took the time to get to know us and understand our vision for this wedding. David and Petr took over from there to flesh out the wedding details, providing their expertise to ensure we didn't miss anything and communicated with us regularly to ensure the planning process happened in a timely manner, thereby reducing stress. Petr was our day-of coordinator, and the day could not have gone more perfectly. Petr is thoughtful, considerate, detail-oriented, and has amazing vision. We were able to focus on enjoying the wedding knowing Petr had the whole event under control. The day really was a dream and it's all thanks to the magnificent Abbey team (especially Petr!). Abbey is a one-stop shop for anything you need for your event. We booked the photographer, DJ, photobooth, and all the catering services through Abbey. This meant, we only had one point of contact for the majority of the wedding. So convenient! All our guests had such a great time. The food was exquisite, drinks were tasty, photobooth was a hit, and dancefloor was LIT (shoutout to Brian, the best DJ). We hope to have an excuse to plan an event with them in the future!
