Me and my bestie came here last minute bc I thought it would be fun and it was so fun, can't wait to do another escape room

The building and a beautiful sky

We've done a lot of escape rooms, and this place is absolutely top-notch. The building and the rooms are impressive, but what truly makes the experience stand out is the staff. Santino is an exceptional employee who genuinely represents what this business is all about--and as a business owner myself, I know how rare that is. Every team member we've interacted with has been fantastic, and we've completed every room here. Huge shout-out to the entire staff--keep up the great work. We're excited to check out your La Quinta location next!

We love escape rooms and, even on vacation, look for opportunities to try out new rooms. Four of us took on Mutiny on Skull Island. I don't want to give any spoilers away so I'll just say our experience was excellent. We were greeted upon arrival, filled out the form, and walked across the way to start our adventure. With multiple rooms, moving parts, lots of locks and interesting puzzles, we were challenged and had a great time. We successfully completed the challenge. We are likely to come back here again before we head home. Great experience!

Located on the 2nd floor. They immediately tell you to sign their "no liability" form through a QR code they provide. Make sure you get that out of way as soon as possible. Then you're shown a quick video, not really telling you too much. LOL! I was so nervous doing this. Without going into too much detail, I truly had such a good time here. The Huz was the MVP of our group, if I may say, because he broke the first code and it made the whole thing more doable to me. We did ask for a few clues within the 60 minutes we had to "escape". I'm honestly not good at this stuff, but it's all about team work and it's not all on one person. But again, thankful for the Huz. LOL!! Because, I'm going to be completely honest here...it's kind of hard! But also, it may just be because I'm not good at solving puzzles or clues. Spoiler alert...and also, because I'm thrilled about it, we escaped as a group and this was fun! Definitely do it if you have a group that needs a fun activity to do. Oh, and the person helping us was friendly, so I would say the service was good. :-)

Came here last minute with my partner and absolutely LOVED it!! Friendly staff, adorable decorations in the candy escape room, and so so much fun! Definitely challenging and you end up feeling completely submerged in the game. Will definitely be coming back to try out the other ones. I

Wow, the 80's theme was impressive. Went in a date with my Fiancée and we had an amazing time! This was our first experience at any escape room and we are still talking about it hours later. The young lady who was our game master was fantastic. Glad to say our game was private and the 2 of us. We got the tickets to the show!!!! You can do it too! Definitely a 10/10 would recommend.

New La Quinta location is open! Game are so immersive it's easy to forget that you're not really in that world. They're very well thought out, perfect amount of challenge without feeling confusing. I've been to many different escape rooms and these ones consistently are the best designed and decorated. I've never had poor customer service at either location, the owner is awesome and prioritizes his customers experiences. I highly recommend the vampire game it was amazing, there was a surplus of fun to be had and puzzles to solve. We escaped with three but it would be perfect for bigger groups too

I've done tons of escape rooms (20+!) all over SoCal and beyond, but this place was definitely in the top 3! My friends and I were on vacation in Palm Springs and decided to book 2 escape rooms to do. A quick Yelp search showed us this place and we were very intrigued! We went inside, signed the usual waivers, and watched the introduction video to our first room: The Secret of the Dragon Spire. My friends and I were talking about how good we were and how well we work together, but we totally struggled on the first puzzle to our discontent HAHA. But, we picked up the pace and the room was great! Got it with 13 minutes to spare. The production quality was extremely impressive and it was a great room. We said our goodbyes and then came back the next day to do their most popular room: Mutiny. Now this room is one of the best rooms I've ever done. Don't want to spoil too much, but it is insane production quality and just SO impressive and fun! Nothing like I've done before, for sure! And we got out of this room as well (: Overall, a really awesome experience! We already want to go back and do their other rooms. Definitely check this place out if you love escape rooms (or want to start off your escape room journey with a bang!) P.S I agree with the other reviews, the bathroom is very cool!

Ask the Community - Escape Games at The River

My young grandchildren want to do this. Is there a specific one suitable for 5 and 8 year olds?

Hello, all of our games are designed for adults. We do however have numerous birthday parties for all ages. All we would need is some advanced notice so we can adjust the puzzles for the younger players. There will need to be an adult in the room…

Is this a lock and key/combination escape rooms or the electronic magnates and high tech kind?

It depends on the room. Some are incredible with 4D animations and high-tech locks/magnet sensors and other rooms are lock & key/directionals/numbers. All rooms usually have a combination of various locks/puzzles.

Jesus (doesn't deserve the chef moniker) was supposed to be providing a cooking with friends experience. Spoiler Alert! It did NOT happen. To start this off leading up to the event he tried to switch the time and date multiple times but we had a fixed time and date we needed. Eventually we agreed to push up the event by two hours as an accommodation for him but at the new time agreed upon he didn't even show up we had to call him and he said sorry about that but he would be providing a private chef situation as a treat for my sisters birthday and arrived instead at the original time. When he arrived he was complaining about my sisters peanut allergy and how it was so hard. I realize now he was doing this because he was trying to make excuses for changing a menu for no reason. Nothing in the menu needed to be changed except changing the type of oil needed. He said ladies I want you to "relax" and I will cook for you. He NEEDED to say this because what he was about to serve us was a bunch of premade frozen foods from the bargain aisle of Albertsons. No joke. More on that later. So we say fine and jump into a game of charades. My sisters microwave has a sticky button and if you are unfamiliar with how to press it you can't open it. we all heard him fumble with the microwave and then give up deciding to fry up the frozen egg rolls he was going to serve us. When the egg rolls are served he plops some condiments and says here you go. There's like 30 egg rolls some of which are cold on the inside. In my mind that's near confirmation that they are frozen. Next up the main course. It was supposed to be sea bass but instead it was rockfish. Like for real bro?? This experience was expensive and you serve rock fish? It's rude. And the rock fish was literally just sautéed with a bunch of pepper. It was inedible. I did not eat it. The side was rice well actually it was supposed to be a jook but I personally don't think he knows what that is. It was both mushy and crunchy clearly Jesus can't ascertain portion size. Last up was mochi. I mean it was just like mango mochi from the frozen section. Which I mean is alright but the original menu was for us to have black sesame ice cream so that's just so different. For $130 a person this "meal" was not acceptable. So we told Jesus and he vowed to make it right. We said okay and he left. We went through the trash and suspicions were confirmed. Discounted egg rolls from the frozen food aisle and rock fish $20 for the party. This guy is not a chef he's a reheating technician. The one thing that required chef skills was butchered so bad I couldn't eat it and was left hungry and bewildered. So surely when we message Cozymeals about this they will refund us right? Nope! They said he had to change the menu because of the peanut allergy. But does that mean you have to downgrade the protein and serve us frozen foods too? Jesus tried to say that we were intoxicated and that's why we couldn't do the cooking experience we hadn't had a drink prior to his arrival but how could we do any experience when it's all FROZEN. would he have been getting advice on how many seconds you need to put the egg rolls in the microwave?? Like be for real. Jesus is a scammer. And evidently cozymeals is eating it up lmaooooo Get this his new menu is based off all the frozen stuff he made for us so I guess he is covering his bases with his swindle projects he plans to continue. So just keep in mind it seems cozy meals is fine charging you $130 a person to eat Super Bowl snacks.
