Gardenworks is a gem of a place for little kids. There was something to discover anywhere you go on the property. The kids had SO much fun. We did the planting and scavenger hunt activity and that was a hit. The kids were excited to take their plants home. Also, we got there a little later than we planned to set up because we hit unexpected traffic and upon arrival Peggy and her two lady helpers were amazing, went straight to helping us set up our table and decorations (was so grateful for that). As soon as we arrived this weekend, my six-year-old birthday girl sighed and said, "I've missed Garden Works so much!" :) She has had so much fun here, both when we went for camp over the summer and when we threw her birthday party here this past weekend. For a party, it's very much like renting a private park, but you have access to bathrooms, electricity, the animals, etc. Peggy was so helpful and knowledgeable. I really couldn't have done it without her help, and I felt the cost was very reasonable. For science camp, their teacher, Lisa, is fabulous and also taught my other daughter back when my now-freshman was in preschool. They did so many fun, age-appropriate activities and she was always so tired out from all the playing. We will certainly be back again. I cannot say enough good things about GardenWorks! We come here for open play all the time and that is an amazing experience in itself! But because we love it so much we decided to host our son's 3rd birthday here, everyone had so much fun! People who had never been there before left BIG FANS as well. We had my daughters 3rd birthday party at Garden Works and everyone had a blast. The party planner Peggy helped us to coordinate everything prior to the party. And then Kat was our party helper and lead the kids in a scavenger hunt and planting of a flower (that each child got to take home). From start to finish the experience was very smooth. All of the kids enjoyed the free play time around the garden and the guided activities. I can't recommend Garden Works enough for a birthday party venue! Came out for a kids bday party. Location - Pretty far from where I stay but for locals it's a great place. Venue - Place is pretty cool and really worth checking out for younger kids. They teach kids how to plant flowers, the history of the place and play games with the kids. Plenty of sections for kids to enjoy and play. Staff - People here are so nice and so good with the kids and makes the visit more pleasant. Parking - indoor area has limited parking, buy plenty of parking outside. If I could give no stars I would. Came here for my son's kinder class field trip. They rushed through every event they had. Didn't wait for the kids to come out of the bathroom to explain everything as a group. Trish and many other staff members were very rude to 5/6 year olds. Talked to the kids as if they were adults. Only one staff member was good with the kids. Ended up getting kicked out two hours before our time because they had another field trip coming. The older lady with the blonde hair came up to a teacher and basically told her we needed to start putting the kids on the bus. Didn't offer the kids to stop and get water or go to the bathroom, in this 85 degree weather. Only nice part about the experience was the potting. read more

Only give one star to review. Went here with a kinder field trip. They rushed through each section with little time to experience. They had the kids put their backpacks in the barn but weren't allowed to be in the shade so all their lunches were in the sun. Then to make matters worse they were telling the kids even before eating that they should give their food to them if they aren't eating it. Some kids thought they had to give it and hadn't eaten yet. Some kids gave snacks to them that were from home. So sad. Then they only have two stalls with two toilets and a line of kids. Only to get our group kicked out of the barn area because their next field trip was coming. Staff was super rude minus one girl, the young blonde. Wouldn't recommend. I'm not really an outdoor person but I love nature. This place caters to kids who love the outdoors , dirt and to run around. This place was a venue to celebrate a birthday with a tea party theme for my 5 year granddaughter. I wasn't sure how often they dusted the things inside the barn like tables, shelves and bookshelves and books. The area was kept so dusty and if the wind blows in I would think dust will be everywhere. The party was set up up outdoors with a long table for ten kids. They had provided decorations and we brought the food , platings and of course tea cups for the kiddos. Activities that were included and provided with the party package were planting a plant in a small pot and painted a clay tea pot or a watering pot. The kids had fun decorating their pot. The place had picnic tables, seesaw, monkey bars , a garden with tall painted metal flowers which added to the whimsical ambience of the place. It even had a goat at the very back fir kids to pet. Well I just wish they would have kept the indoors really dust free at least whether they use the area for other activities or not !!! Hands down 10 stars for this location being a little magical wonderland for kids. Everywhere you look is a fun, exciting and surprising thing to explore. So much to see and do from making music on the pots & pan wall, to exploring new charters on a pirate ship. Observing lizards in the wild and crossing the bridge over a bubbling brook. One of the biggest hits was feeding Gaby the goat her leafy green breakfast and tossing in yummy worms for the two hens & rooster to grub on. we went yesterday for a field trip. it was a cute little place. i want to say about 60% on the staff is super friendly. the other ones are super rude. one even grabbed me by my waist to move me to the side without even telling me, excuse me, if you could move which i for one hate being touched especially by a stranger... the preschool teacher mrs lisa is by far the rudest employee that they have there rude to the children that were on the field trip, rude to the parents that were trying to take the children that were on the field trip to the restrooms...... if i had the opportunity to go back, i probably would not return just for the fact that a lot of the staff were super rude and unprofessional. read more

I was very excited to take my Grandchildren to a Garden work's event. Unfortunately, the event that we were going to attend got rescheduled. My Granddaughters live out of town and we couldn't attend the new date. Garden works said I would get a refund, but they never issued one. It is very hard to get a hold of anyone. Stumbled upon this place during a basic Yelp search for "kids activities" nearby. Was happy to know they were open especially since so many things for kids are closed right now (Covid). I was even more impressed to learn about all the events/activities they offer too which I realized sell out quickly! We decided to take our 2 year old for open play today and had such a great time! Had the pleasure of meeting Miss Donna who was so sweet, informative and friendly. She even offered popsicles to the kiddos which I found to be such a thoughtful touch to this already incredible place. My daughter didn't have a dull moment the entire two hours we spent here. So many things to keep her entertained like a sand box, pirate ship, playground sets, teeter totter, huge chalk floor, playhouse, a goat, chickens, veggie garden, worm box...the list goes on! Miss Donna even gave the kiddos some fresh veggies to feed the goat and allowed my daughter to eat some of their broccoli which she couldn't get enough of! We will definitely be back and look forward to a few future events we have already purchased tickets for! This place is AMAZING! They have Open Play that's free, you just need to sign up ahead of time and you have to be quick about it because it goes quick! They also have fun activities for kids that cost a little bit of money. I know people who have done it and it's worth the price! Super disappointing because this would be a really cool place. HOWEVER, on their website, they advertise that they have open play on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30-12. We got there with our kids, went in and were playing...then out of nowhere an employee asks us if we are part of the school group and why we are there...we said no, we are here for open play. She then states that we can't be there because they are closed for a field trip and she makes us leave immediately. WHAT!? No signs anywhere, nothing stating that they are closed, no locked gate. Don't advertise open play hours if you aren't going to offer them. read more

the school I work for took a kindergarten field trip here. I work directly with autistic students. Only one class was special needs (which was the class I work with) The other 4 classes were gen-ed. Every other class had a tour guide helping the children with the activities taking them to see the animals and doing activities in the barn. It is indeed a very nice place. But after having one person work with us for ONE activity, they left us to be. They said we could finish the tour on our own. without any guidance. Because and I quote " you know your students best " While every other class had a guide the ENTIRE TIME. We understand the difficulties of working with students that are autistic, that is why we had more than enough hands ( other aids ) to help support. Not wanting to work with our kids, having them stand around in the sun without any interactions like every other gen-ed class was experiencing was very upsetting. we had called ahead of time letting them know that we did have a special needs class on this trip and would need a little more patience and accommodation. And they were more than understanding over the phone. Come time to the trip. they did not include our class in any activities. If I could give it zero stars I would. The staff needs to reevaluate their work performance. Every kid deserves the same experience, and the same attention. read more

Our favorite place to spend with my kids. Sometimes I bring my friends & their kids too. My Sister in law from Bay Area was jelly because I have this place nearby. They offers alot of activities and also keep checking their Instagram for free play sign up because it's filled up in seconds! (I always missed it!) My kids won't leave this place. I was driving by this Garden Works and the gate was wide open so I decided to drive in. It's a really cool place to teach toddlers about gardening and just let them explore on their own. We were offered to do a quick art project and even made a potted flower for my daughter to take home. A nice change of pace from going to the same parks every week. I had been following them on social media for a while and I was always interested in the events that they would hold. I finally bought tickets for their Halloween Spooky Night at the Garden. It was advertised on social media as trick or treating, games, Halloween crafts, spooky dinner meal, and a costume contest. The time was between 5:30-7:30pm. We arrived before 5:30 but the doors didn't open until about 5:45pm. Which is not a big deal but it was just the beginning of a bad night. As all the guest were waiting outside for the doors to open, there were a few guests who were mentioning that their past events were not coordinated but we just assumed people were just complaining since they had returned. Once the doors opened, tickets were not checked and we were told to head to the barn because dinner was going to be served first. We were served the "spooky meal" which was either hamburger or Hotdog... again not a big deal. But seems like they sold too many tickets and did not have enough sitting. As many parents know, children take a really long time to finish a meal, and the workers kept rushing everyone to finish their meal to make room for others to sit. we felt so pressured that we ended throwing our food out to leave room for others. we were told then to make our way to the activities but not ONE single station was open for activities. No one was helping or doing any activities. Again, seems like they over sold the event that all of their staff had to be in the barn during dinner to help. We did receive a little paper with the itinerary for the event and there was NO trick or treating, no costume contest, no games!! Just a couple stations for activities none of which anyone was allowed to do. A couple children went up to one of the stations trying to complete it and a staff member was extremely rude and told them to go away because it wasn't ready yet and to just wonder around until they were told other wise. Again the event was from 5:30-7:30 and it was now 6:45pm and none of the activities had begun and there wasn't much of anything going on. We then decided to leave and just call it a night. I am truly disappointed that they advertised this to be completely different. Now after sharing thoughts with others that have been there before and reading on these comments, I do not think they are equipped to hold these types of events. They are understaffed and they need a new management team to understand that you cannot advertise something on social media just to get tickets sold and day of the event, do the complete opposite. Especially because my daughter is an only child and I had told her about this event and she was so excited about the trick or treating and the costume contest. She too was so disappointed. I do not recommend this place for events, maybe just on random days to go look at the animals there. read more

This was pretty cool! We went there for a school field trip and had a good time. The staff was fun and insightful and quite helpful. I thought it was fun they not only made a flower planter but then had a bunch of fun decorations to add to the planter as well and my son loved the pin wheel. Then we decorated a bucket for Easter that had some goodies in it. Then we were able to feed a couple goats and played outside on their playground and they had a great time.
