I really loved the power yoga class I took with Ang yesterday! My friend Erin, a long-time student at Sol, organized a private class for a group of ladies. When I walked into the space, I realized instantly that it was heated - ruh roh! It had been a long time since I last took a heated yoga class and I was a little bit nervous. Then, we were told we would be experiencing a 60-minute power yoga. Power yoga?! Now I was really sweating and not just because of the heat! In hindsight, I'm glad these two elements were a surprise because I may have been too intimidated to sign-up had I known. Happily, Ang's laid-back attitude and casual conversation at the beginning and throughout class really helped me relax and get into it. I really liked the background music as well. It was a mix of folky, new age-y meditation music and it was just perfect for setting the tone of a non-judgemental and fun practice. An hour flew by and I was sweating like crazy but I enjoyed every second! Sometimes my mind wanders in yoga classes and I find myself thinking, "When will this be over?" That never happened during Ang's class. I think the hour length was just right. Though Conshohocken is a bit of a hike for me, I'd strongly recommend this studio to anyone nearby who is looking for a relaxed and fun setting for their yoga practice. read more

There is not enough space to explain how much I love Sol. Every instructor has a unique style, which is great because they make you work different muscles. I used to go to yoga solely for the workout but have recently started seeing the other positives. I used to pull out my back about once a month- which is terrible pain. This no longer happens since I have added Sol into my weekly routine. If you are nervous to try sol, don't be. I believe your first class is free and I have never met a judge-mental person in a class. I would suggest showing up 10-15 min early to get your spot and sort of relax before class. Attended my first class at Sol tonight - great experience. I tried the Tuesday night power yoga (normally taught by Kristin but subbed by Eric.) I like that the classes are offered late (8pm is perfect for me), and they seem to have a good variety of classes. Eric was a great instructor and kept us moving through the poses while encouraging focus on breath and intention. It wasn't overly strenuous or challenging, but definitely got my blood flowing and worked up a slight sweat. The room was nice and warm (slightly on the hot side, but I'm not complaining about that on a snowy night.) And the class size of about 10 people fit comfortably in the room. Everyone seemed friendly... about half the class seemed to be regulars who knew one another - always a good sign. I'll have to come back and try out some of the other classes. Happy to find a yoga studio halfway between work and home that offers late evening classes! read more

This place is great. The owner ( Angela) really goes above and beyond to make people feel welcomed and comfortable. You won't find that everywhere, and as someone who comes across a lot of business owners, this really stayed with me. She gets my highest rating of approval. All the instructors are friendly and warm. They all seem to be friends outside of the classroom, which is nice to see. I hate working out and never did Yoga previously but kept hearing ppl rave about this place so I gave it a try. Although very challenging, I do enjoy it! Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars ( Not a deal breaker though) is because I wish they'd do a lil more beginner stuff, or at least have a whole beginner series program like other studios offer ( Twisters, Verge, etc) If they had that I'd seriously give it 6+ stars! Stop by for a "Power Yoga" with any of the instructors. Everyone in this studio is so nice and accommodating. Mat and towel rentals are available if you do not have anything. Recommend showing up 15 minutes before class. The entire flow of the class is enjoyable, the classes max out at 20-22 students, so it's best to book early. Best yoga studio in Philadelphia, hands down. You will love the "sun" in both yoga rooms! read more

I found this studio when I was traveling for work in the area. Training for my job was stressing me out, so I went in search for a yoga class that could help me chill out. I'm so lucky I stumbled upon Sol Yoga and signed up online for a free first class. The studio itself is on the 2nd floor of a small business complex. They have plenty of parking in a separate lot specifically for Sol customers. The studio I had my class in was super small but the floors were marked with tape to indicate mat placement which was super helpful. They offered a free mat for first timers. I took a Power Yoga class and it kicked my booty! I don't think I've ever done more sun salutations in one hour than in this class. The heated room added another level of intensity, but I was left with a great workout and high energy after class. Everyone in the class was really having fun with all the poses and yogis were friendly and chatting before and after class. I think this was best represented by the great energy of the instructor, Angela, and her fun music playlist that kept the mood fun. My only complaint is that the studio doesn't have full locker rooms but instead small men's and women's restrooms that can get full right before and after class. I would come to class ready in your workout gear instead of lugging a big gym bag. Overall, I'd return to class the next time I'm in town for work. Definitely worth it for the free first time trial! read more

Love this place to the point that I'm debating on going for an unlimited package. Each instructor has a different style and it's what makes this studio awesome. For more challenging work-outs, I go for Jan or Angela's class (she's the owner) and there's a back-to-basics class that's great if you are looking for a class with a slower pace. If you're looking for an intense Yoga workout-don't hesitate to give this place a try! For someone at a decent level of fitness, who already has a Yoga background and is looking to advance their practice, this is a great studio. I've been practicing Yoga for close to 15 years now, the past several years in classes offered at my company gym. Usually I incorporate Yoga into my lifting and cardio routine, but more recently I've been somewhat bored with my workouts and looking to try some more challenging Yoga. A co-worker suggested I give Sol a try, so I opted for the new student discount: two weeks of unlimited classes for $25. Definitely an awesome deal!!! So far I've taken two classes, one last night and one this morning and I am very impressed! The classes are VERY challenging, which is difficult to find after practicing for so long. Last night was with Lauri and this morning was with the owner Angela. They were both very welcoming and provided grueling work outs. I will definitely be taking as many classes as I can through next week, to try out all the different instructors and then settle on a regime. I am taking off one star because of the very small space. On a positive note, it is a testament to the quality of the classes that they are completely packed. That said, I personally do not enjoy practicing in extremely close quarters, with mats lined up one right next to the other. I found it very difficult to flip my dog, and was constantly accidentally brushing against the people on either side of me. Granted, this shows I need to improve on my transitions and my ability to concentrate, so I won't let it stop me from going to the classes, but it does make it less enjoyable... If the classes were in spacious rooms, with nice high ceilings and there was a shower facility I would absolutely give this place 5+ stars. I will say they did a great job with the space available; it's very clean, painted a pretty color, and the cubbies are a nice practical touch. read more

I have been doing yoga off and on for 10 years, and can say that Sol Yoga Studio is addicting. The instructors, the people in class, make it a fun place to be. The work out is about as intense as you can get, but is absolutely doable for newbies. The instructors are really the best aroud, and not only teach a great class, but their enthusiam is contagious! They have amazing workshops, tons of classes, and an atmosphere that leaves you wanting more. I highly recommend Sol, and proudly identify it is as "my yoga studio," a place where i know I will leave with a smile on my face :) read more

I am not a huge exercise fan, and was apprehensive when a friend of mine dragged me to Sol. Now I am completely addicted. I try to go 2-3 times per week. Love this place! Good variety of instructors with different styles. The heat is good, but not overwhelming. The students have all levels of experience so no matter where you're at with your yoga practice you should feel comfortable here. It is not a competitive atmosphere in the least, which I love. My go-to class is taught by Julie on Tu/Th nights. But I also love the Sunday morning with Kim. Love that there are really early options and pretty late options so you have no excuse to not be able to fit yoga into your day. Highly recommend Sol!!! read more
