And, said mechanic should not be expected to get paid, as I'm sure our bus driver was not for the extra 5 hours he spent with us.

Good: The room was fine, spacious & seemed clean. Bathroom was massive, I think we ended up with an accessible room. Beds were not the comfiest (especially after a day of rollercoasters!) and I noticed 1 of the locks on the patio french doors was missing, and the patio furniture outside was COVERED in spiderwebs. Wiped them off to use the table & chairs. The patio was nice to have, tho. Bad: The pool was FREEZING, not heated at all & the hot tub was easily 105-107°, dangerously scalding. You could barely dip feet in for a few minutes it was that hot. Bathroom was out of soaps in the dispensers, OK, we brought some. The wall temp unit RAN NOISILY ALL NIGHT, like constantly on, no matter what we set it to. Renovations are in place so there was tape outside on the patio. I agree with other posters that it needs a freshening up. There was no complimentary coffee or even cold brekkies/pasties in the lobby in the a.m, and the onsite restaurant wanted $6+/cup for coffee & the food was very expensive. At this room rate, I was surprised. For the price & conditions, I think a 1 night stay was OK for us, but our regular Marriott near Six Flags seems to offer better value & amenities.

It is wise to step outside your environment and, in the case of this current venture, go visit an Alpaca farm. The Menagerie Hill ranch has beautiful animals. The host was awesome and knowledgeable. We increased our knowledge of the animals and of the farm but also got to feed them. We also had the opportunities to get close and personal with them for pictures. They were all friendly and fluffy. I recommend this unique experience for all because if you do not just break your usual pattern to stop and smell the roses or to pet and feed an Alpaca, life will pass by before you know it. We stayed in touch over the next several weeks before settling on an August date. We braved the high temps and winding roads to arrive at the ranch. It's a beautiful space on a hillside and you can see the herd and their guardian llama as you pull into the parking lot. We learned a lot about the alpaca life cycle, fed the boys, and my daughter got to hold and carry a cria. We bought two cute alpaca shaped soaps. I didn't experience any of the negativity others have complained about. It is a working ranch so it's not a petting zoo or a tourist attraction. Go with the flow and you'll have a great experience.

I'll start from he beginning cause there's alot to unfold in this review. We met up at the Napa Valley wine train at 5:30 am. Don't be late cause a few people were and we were waiting on them. They give you your itinerary and you sign a waiver , and the. You meet your pilot. They drove us in their vans to the take off point which was off the train track. See the video, it was amazing. I was worried that the wind might be to much fir the too lift off, but they said if they can't, they have alternative locations. Once we got I'm the air it was very smooth and very relaxing. There we about 20 people in our basket. Not alot of room, but keep in mind your not going to move around in the balloon basket . We rose up in the ir and went where the wind took us. After our pilot explained everything to us we were confident he knew what he was doing . He even took us inside a hillside where we were able to get close to some trees . Landing was pretty smooth. They picked up up with their vans and drive us back. And this is where it goes from 4 stars to 5. We purchase the champagne package which I highly recommend. We got to share a bottle of champagne with our pilot and he told us all about the first hot air ballon, which was way before airplanes , and explained to us where the name Pilot came from. Overall , it was a great end to a great experience and I highly recommend it .

The sunrise was especially beautiful as we drifted along, and the silence up there, broken only by the loud occasional burst of the burner, was unlike anything I've ever experienced. That said, there were a few things to consider. The heat from the burner can be overwhelming, especially if you're not prepared for it. I didn't wear a hat, and I really wish I had and i am short 5'2 those blasts of hot air can get pretty intense when they hit you directly! So, if you're planning this trip, definitely bring something to cover your head. The landing was a bit of a wild ride, too. The ground was much harder and more uneven than I expected, and we didn't quite know where we'd land until we were almost on top of it. Also getting in and out can be extremely challenging. It's hard climbing into and out of the basket and it's very tightly packed. Not a lot of space to move. I knew the risks going in but the whole experience was so worth it. Even with those little surprises, it was absolutely incredible. Would I do it again? Definitely not! Despite the heat and the bumpy landing, the beauty of the experience makes it all worthwhile and a one timer for me. I highly recommend it if you're looking for something unique and unforgettable to add to your list of adventures. Just don't forget your hat!

Starting with what's positive, the rooms are clean and modern. The complimentary breakfast is standard for Hampton Inn & Suites, which is also positive. The business center is not functional. To replicate the experience, get whatever desktop you were using in 1995 and try using the dialup software that came with it. Without exaggeration, it took 3 minutes to load the MS Outlook homepage. The desk staff is incompetent. If you told me that it their first day and they had 20 minutes of training, that would explain the experience. I can handle all of that. I don't expect perfection. I don't even expect competence. The rooms are nice and it had been a 4-star experience. What broke it for me was getting a call at 2:15 am from the front desk. I'm traveling. I'm tired. I have to wake up early. I need sleep. My job depends on it. My family depends on it. At 2:15 am, the phone in my room rang, blasting like an alarm clock. I answered because it must be an emergency. The caller identified herself as the front desk and asked if I called them.... No, I did not. Let's pretend that you have a good reason for not knowing if I called the front desk... how does this calculation work in your mind? It's better to risk blasting someone out of bed in the dead middle of the night than to risk an unreturned call? Why did you think that I called in the first place? If i did call and you didn't answer, why wouldn't I just call back? It's a symptom of the front desk incompetence; they found a way to elevate the impact from simple fumbling over basic job tasks to straight interruption of my stay. How many times would you have to be woken out of bed at 2:15 am before you wouldn't return to a hotel? For me, it's once. I have to assume that this specific problem doesn't happen to a lot of people, but I do have to assume that the lack of awareness from the front desk staff ripples out to all areas of the experience, as it did for me. I've stayed in lots of hotels, I've dealt with varying levels of competence, and this takes the cake. I won't stay here again.

The actual menu in-person had a couple items that aren't on the sample menu including a couple more dessert options like fig ice cream. We really liked everything we tried! The portions were pretty good. If coming here for food I'd recommend getting here early since food trucks have limited capacity. You're welcome to stroll around the property both the flower farm and the inn side before or after your meal. The parking situation is a gravel lot. So it may not be the most handicap accessible place. We had a lot of fun stopping by Park Winters. They were setting up for a wedding so the inn side would have been closed for the event starting at 1pm. The check also came with a small map of the property for you to keep. This was very helpful in exploring the property. The only caveat is this is the countryside. Wear long pants or be prepared with insect repellent! Even at 10am in the summer my legs were bitten by mosquitoes. (Type O blood. Mosquito magnet here.) I'd like if they burned some citronella candles to help with mosquitoes. The rest of the dining venue was so thoughtfully designed including timed misters (like at theme parks) to help keep the area cool. Definitely check it out if you're curious or in the area.

Then the manager calls me after we leave, leaves a message, and says, very passively aggressive, "We comped your meal, but you did not leave the server a tip." Servers live off tips. But don't worry, we took care of her tip. Have a good day." Umm, excuse me? I was a server for over 7 years. First of all, I wouldn't expect a tip after the establishment that failed me by not ensuring they had adequate kitchen supplies to keep a Mother's Day up and running. Additionally, I would have added more staff to the day, which would of course be very busy. And lastly, how are we tipped when you comped the bill and walked away, and nobody had cash? We did not ask for the bill to be comped. So for future reference, dear John I don't recommend calling your customers and bullying them over voicemail. You're the problem, not us.
