i have an orphaned system. 8/2024 i needed panels removed to replace roof. they found 2 bad panels that were not replaced after roof done. everything fine until early 2025 system has error code. i call solar living, a fellow named ETHAN diagnosed as bad connectors. upgrade to MC4. june 1 work complete. on june 6th system throws same error code. july 2 ETHAN tells me they don't guarantee work. i paid for unnecessary repair. make sure you get a contract with everything in writing. don't pay by check. use credit card so you can contest charge. read more

I had Solar Living install solar heat for my inground pool about 15 years ago. I never had a problem with it at all and it does a great job. This year it wasn't working as it usually does so I called Solar Living, even though it's under new ownership they honored the life time guarantee. A repairman came and did a very thorough job inspecting it, he even went up on the roof to check the panels. There were a few minor repairs that were needed and now it's back to being perfect. Solar pool heater rocks! I have had a small, 11K gallons, pool for six seasons and have lived with heating it just with a solar cover. The gas heater was going to be expensive to install and then very expensive to run so I finally looked into getting a solar heater. Ethan could not have been nicer or more attentive. He called me back promptly and answered all of my pre-installation questions. We booked the installation four weeks out and on the scheduled day both Ethan and Mike arrived at 7:30am for the installation. They were here for about half a day and cleaned up. They programmed the pool heater and showed me what I would need to do for maintenance plus they left me with written instructions. We set the pool water for a target temperature of 89 degrees and we are currently at that target temperature. It was about as painless a process as possible. We had Solar Living install a solar pool water heating system for us in the spring of 2014. Every step of the process was A+. Mike and Ethan are a fabulous team. From the initial visit to our house to the system getting turned on was smooth as silk. All my questions were answered, the installation was done in a timely and professional manner, and the use/function was explained to me in detail. The were able to hook the unit directly up to my automated pool control so that the system automatically turns on when conditions are met, increasing the RPM of my variable speed pump to efficiently pass the pool water through the panels. When clouds come or in the late afternoon, the system automatically turns off and the variable speed pump is returned to its slower speed. Can it get any better? We were swimming (here in CT) from the second week of May into October last year. We've had the pool open just over a week and the water (25000 gallons) is already into the mid to upper 60's. I no longer use the propane heater (saving $4 a gallon). I am so happy we decided to put in a system and so glad we chose Solar Living. I made a service call this spring and Mike was here the same day to repair.
