I have been a client with solar nails before the owner's even bought this place back when they were at diamond nails the owners are amazing due to their expertise and skill.They have been getting more and more request.S no longer able to do my nails , which they have been doing for almost 16 years now so I recently branched out and tried other nail techs not only are they young and cocky, but they don't have any skill. There's one young lady that I do not know her name. She is very good and very kind. She is also the friendliest person in there so I wish I knew her name. But anyway, my point of this Review is they have expanded so much that they no longer have room for their old original clientele. read more

My mom and I have gone to Solar Nails for most of our mani/pedis since we moved to this area three years ago. My mom had Alzheimer's and the staff were always very kind and helpful to her. A few weeks ago, we found out she had terminal cancer and within days she was moved to hospice. I called Solar Nails and spoke with the manager and explained to him that my mom's dip nails had grown out in the hospital and one had torn in hospice the day before. He was very kind and agreed to come to Hospice of the Golden Isles after the shop closed for the day. He came and brought an assistant. They were kind and gentle and took amazing care of my mom, who wasn't really conscious because of the pain medication at that point. And then they refused payment at the end of the service. I don't think they had any idea who I was when I called and asked for their help, but they came, and they did a very, very kind service that was desperately needed at a horrible time. I don't know how to thank them other than to tell everybody how amazing they area and that you should spend your money at Solar Nails because they are truly good people (and they give great mani/pedis, too). Greed has taken over at Solar nails!! Today I went there to have tips put on. I was told 53.00 that is fine. the technician wanted to charge an extra five dollars to file my nails in a round shape. she sat on her phone talking the whole time the nails looked awful . They just lost a customer and did not seem to care at all!! read more

I'm going out of town tomorrow, some "me" time came open this afternoon and I'm very disappointed. I'm a cosmetologist so I know what I'm talking about. Originally, I was going faithfully every month to the same technician, Van. She does great work, one time I was 5 minutes late and the owner of Solar Nails told me no more appointments. I waited a year to come back (I was trying other nail salons in the meantime), I returned last month as a walk-in, a new technician to be did a wonderful job. Today I go in, I'm refused the same technician as last time. I get a new one and Terrible job! 7 out of 10 nails have serious gaps between the natural nails and the artificial tips. I paid $50 and no tip left and they were closing. Will find a place out of town. read more

I came here often as the business is clean, runs smooth, and most techs do a great job with nails. However, DO NOT GET INDIVIDUAL LASHES DONE FOR $26.00 I had long lashes before I ever let Van and or Vi do my lashes. Yes, the lashes were very pretty, but your REAL LASHES get DAMAGED. The nail tech I had was very Rude, Impatient, Rough, Lazy and had an issue with shaping my nails the way I wanted them shaped. I brought the matter to the managers attention and all she did was offer me a punch card to continue to see them again. I will be taking my business elsewhere!.. I did a walk-in Saturday morning around 10:00 for eyelash extensions and a pedicure. They told me the wait would be about 25-30 mins, but I was back in about 5! She put on my extensions in about 10 minutes and that includes showing me the different options and explaining how to take care of them! It was very quick and well done! Then I had a pedicure done that was extremely thorough and relaxing. I got my feet scrubbed, legs scrubbed, hot stones, hot towel, and lotion, as well as the normal cuticle cutting, nail trimming and filing, and polish. I will be back to get a manicure. The staff was super friendly. The salon was very clean. And the process was very quick but also quality. read more

Cynthia She was absolutely amazing. Best massage in a pedicure I have ever had. Once the massage was done, then she pulled out warm rocks to continue the massage. I got a hot towel as well. THAT WAS JUST A REGULAR PEDICURE!!! I would 100% recommend a Pedicure from this place. It only gets better. They have Deluxe and Super Deluxe so it only gets better from the Regular. And, you will feel so relaxed. Van & B They did my nails! So beautiful. Really cared about how they looked which I appreciated. This was by far the WORST experience that I have ever had at a a nail salon. I was visiting my in-laws n Brunswick, GA from Atlanta and went to this nail salon for a pedicure (which is something that I should not have done). The first gentle that started my pedicure had no clue of what he was doing and was cutting my cuticle DRY until I made him stop and said that i was leaving. A female, who I assume to be a co-owner said to another owner that I wanted to leave and the male owner came over to complete the job. He was extremely RUDE and was performing the job as if he was doing me a favor and as if I was not paying!! I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone. I got a pedicure here today and OMG!!! It was the best pedicure I've ever gotten. From the nail trimming, to the cuticle care, to the massage. It was absolutely fabulous. Really bad pedicure and worst manicure ever. I think the technician was new - kept asking other techs where things were and how to do simple tasks - and didn't put any Epson salts/foot soak in the pedicure bowl, which she filled to almost-overflowing with coolish luke-warm water. I knew things were going to go downhill from there and tried to nap during the ordeal. The pedi was rushed and included maybe two (2) minutes of leg and foot massage and two chips in one toe that wasn't corrected, and the mani was awful, leaving me with terribly uneven nails which I tried to correct at home. When I left the salon a short 45 minutes later, I was completely stressed and knew that the search for good service and results would continue. There were some filled out with customer name phone # & PHI. I've been in the medical field for over 20 years...this is a gross violation of HIPAA. I went in as a walk in with my two daughters for a gel mani and two kids polish. They said it would be a 45 minute wait but someone didn't show up for their appointment so I only waited about 20 mins and they did my nails and my daughters so fast and they came out great. Make sure to get here as early as possible because they already have people waiting outside before they open. Expect to wait at least an hour or more. Have been here three times and the nail techs are ok. Last time I went, the young girl who did my gel polish did the worst job. Doing nails isn't rocket science so I'm not sure why she neglected to moisturize my cuticles and push my cuticles back. Nor did I get a hand scrub or anything. Then when it came to applying the gel polish, she applied such thick coats of polish that it created air bubbles. When I told her she did a bad job she just got annoyed and kept telling me OPI nail polish creates air bubbles and I should try DND. Errr no. You're just bad at doing nails. I ended up having them remove the polish (which the manager did, and not her because she was annoyed with me) and left. The manager actually did a better job at removing my polish and took care of my nails better than she did. If you go, I recommend having your nails done by the owners. read more

My mother,my sister and I, have been loyal customers since DAY 1 and we ALWAYS tip! I get gel on my finger nails and toes. No extra long nails,designs, or anything fancy. During my last visit I was stopped at the door by the owner who told me that one of his nail techs (Katie) DID NOT WANT TO DO MY NAILS . He was very rude and took pride in turning me around. I did not argue,or ask for an explanation I just took my business elsewhere. On a separate occasion, He cancelled my mother's appointment without reason and when she spoke with him about it, he was argumentative and told her that he was being treated like a "slave" !! Which was repulsive, revolting,and disgusting! With us being proud women of color it was highly offensive! He does not have a clue what it is to be treated like a slave!! GETTING "PAID" to sit behind a desk with A/C all day long, and do nails...........that was the WORST reference he could have ever made . Hue (the owner) tends to get stressed and overwhelmed quite often, because he is so money hungry, that he tends to over book. He does not know how to work under pressure nor does he know how to conduct business in the proper manner . He is does not want you to request any modifications with your nails; and he expects to do your nails the way that he would like to do them.There is a high turnover rate at this salon because of him. He does not know how to treat his clients or his employees and he just lost 3 loyal,tipping customers not to mention friends and family that we have told about the incident. You have truly done your business a disservice with your bad attitude and lack of respect poor hospitality and terrible customer service! read more
