We did a lot of research before we pulled the trigger on Solar. We did a deep dive on leasing versus purchasing, equipment differences and post installation service. We had actually contracted with a different firm, but after we found out the sales rep misrepresented the equipment they were going to install - we cancelled. After that, we reached-out to two other companies - one of which was Robco. After comparing all of the metrics as well as the reviews, we ended up purchasing a system from Robco. From the presentation and design with Jorge, through the approval process with our HOA, to obtaining permits, they were on top of it all. We initially met with Jorge on May 12th. All approvals were obtained and Mike and his installation crew showed up on May 26th. These guys actually showed up early and worked like a well greased machine. The job was completed by mid afternoon, including the painting of conduit and solar emergency shut-off to match the stucco on my home. They even left me with extra roof tiles in case we needed them in the future. After the installation, the building inspector scheduled time to come by and sign-off on the permit. Of course, there were no problems there. The funny thing was that I can be a bit chatty and in talking to the inspector, he stated in summary that if he were were going to put solar on his personal home - or needed an electrical repair, Robco is the one company he would call. I thought that was quite an endorsement. That last installation piece was for NV Energy to come out and replace the meter with one that can export unused solar energy back out to the grid; that was done on June 18th. From start to finish, Jorge, Mike and all of the guys at Robco exceeded our expectations. We would wholeheartedly recommend them for your Solar (or electrical repair) needs.

I have had a horrible experience with the service and quality of this company…read more During the sales cycle I was told something by the sales representative regarding the fee schedule and of course had to fight to get it corrected. The second issue was the quality of the install. The installers broke roof tile and replaced the tile with sheet metal tiles instead of the cement tiles that were on my house. The electrician installed the inverter where I could not replace the light bulb on an outside light if needed. Lastly, the apparent repairs to my stucco where they gained access to my panel was so sloppy and not painted. Please see photos below showing the three items above. Finally, when I received approval from NV Energy, I was required to figure out how to turn on the system. You would figure for a $43,000 install someone would come help you turn it on. When I went to turn it on I had to call a call center who determined that one of the inverters was a defect. Apparently, this was known approximately 6 weeks earlier and one of the vendor partners opened a warranty claim instead of just putting a new inverter on. It should be noted that my system has been turned on working at approximately 50% capacity and I have no timeline when this will be resolved. I reached out to Solaire and asked to speak to Lucas (Prior Yelp response said his title was owner) and was given grief for asking for the owner. I received a call from Lucas who said he would take over getting this resolved. He said he would be back in touch with me. I then received a call from Carissa who said Solaire was the sales and marketing company and wanted me to call Palmetto who controls this. Carissa told me that Palmetto controls the installs. Great customer service on clearly a problem on their end not mine...... The whole finger pointing game instead of taking accountability. All I know is that I have paid $43,000 and my system is not working as designed and I do not know when it will be resolved. I am totally disappointed and wish I never went with Solaire. Your call on what you would want to do but I would never give them a reference.

He assured me the $500 deposit was refundable up until they needed to pull permits. I paid the deposit and it was through a different company. What? waited for the inspection and nothing. After several weeks Chase said he was laid off. I was put in contact with Sam. We'll call him full of s*it Sam. Said I needed a new roof and the agreement said there was no refund for the deposit, conflicting Chase. He agreed they would review the recorded call and a manager would contact me. I've tried repeatedly to contact them again and have been officially brushed off and never received anything. No refund or call back.. Also, Chase and I responded on calls and text on a cell phone. Was that recorded?? They push you and tell you whatever they can to get that deposit and then Push you for a new roof and if you try to push back, they're gone With your money.

He was professional and respectful, and took the time to explain their side of the clause. They're not trying to silence honest feedback across the board -- they're asking for 45 days to fix any issue before someone goes public with a negative review. I appreciate the clarification, but this is still an effort to silence consumer's right to free speech, which is something I take very seriously. I work with several brands that compete in various marketplaces, and this is a tactic I would never endorse. The clause, as written, sends the wrong message. It's written in very strong legal language, and yes, it absolutely reads like a threat. Telling a customer that their warranty could be voided over a "disparaging" comment -- even one that's truthful -- feels more like protecting the brand at the expense of the customer's rights. If a company's service is great and they handle problems with integrity, their customers won't feel the need to "disparage" them in the first place. To be clear, I otherwise had a good experience with Solar Optimum during the proposal stage, but ultimately decided not to sign due to what I consider to be a big red flag. I have no reason to believe that the positive reviews here are not genuine. I just have to assume that part of the reason they seem to out-index the rest of the industry is due to this type of tactic. I don't have a crystal ball - but the solar industry seems to be littered with companies who deal in deceptive practices, so if you want to be the "good guy", then you should have confidence that your customers will advocate for you. This isn't personal -- it's a broader concern about consumer rights. If you're thinking about signing with any solar company (not just this one), read the contract carefully, ask questions, and make sure your voice doesn't come with fine print attached.

Nick was easy to work with, responded quickly, and gave me a very competitive quote compared to others I received quotes from. The work turned out great and everything was completed as promised. The pigeon guard looks good, the solar panels look clean, and the roof repairs look good. If you're looking for someone honest who does quality work at a fair price, I'd definitely recommend Nick and Crystal Pane Solutions.

Argumentative, does not answer simple questions, even asked moments after he texts you. He will argue with you and basically he has made what could have been a very smooth and easy process, a headache. Part of me thinks we should have just thrown in the towel and cancelled but again, the salesman is great and often communicates to questions that the other guy should have gotten to. So I hope it gets better as we are in it now. But make sure to remember this before you actually move forward.
