Reliable spot for years with food you expect. When I come to Russellville to visit my parents it's a solid choice.

This was a small restaurant that moved into a larger building that includes a drive thru. Glad I…read morestopped by to try it. I ordered a double cheeseburger and tater tot's. Several cars in drive thru as it is pretty popular place. They don't have anything precooked so it does take a few minutes but it is cooked to order and always hot. There were 4 cars in front of me and the first car had a little wait and each car after that was shorter. So by the time we got to window our order was ready. Maybe 10 minutes from order to food. They have smash burger type meat such as Freddy's and steak and shake. I think maybe it has better taste. I will probably come back at least 1/week now I know how good it is. Please be patient and give them a try.

Based on my most recent visit, either that last visit was an outlier or Acapulco is on the upswing again. The menu is standard but there are some goodies to be found and from what I can tell they do the standards well. The salsa is solid and if you're not a cilantro fan it doesn't taste as if that's present. The house-made hot sauce is delicious though--order some and mix it in with the salsa to give it a kick or if you like it really spicy, try it straight. I had the carnitas this time around and they were delicious--slow cooked, flavorful, juicy, simple and straightforward. They served them with fresh soft tortillas so I was able to assemble 3 tacos with fresh pork, guacamole (served on the platter), fresh tomatoes, and some of that house hot sauce. I also added a tamale on the side to see how they did those, and it was a larger tamale than expected but very good and slathered in red sauce AND queso. My dining partner had a very complicated and picky order and they handled her requests perfectly. The service was super-friendly--fast, kind, efficient. They checked on us often (but not overbearingly) and even provided freebies! I mentioned last time it felt like it could use a clean-up and some lighting--this time around, everything was well lit and clean, and the bathrooms were spotless. While I didn't partake, I noticed the happy-hour sign on the way to he rest room and it's ridiculously cheap ($3 mugs of import beer, 2 for 1 margaritas, $4 tequila sunrise, etc.).

The space is small, but they have it laid out well with tables and booths lining every available inch coupled with a small bar tucked in the rear of the room. Staff was super friendly. My server was sweet and helpful, and then another server checked in throughout my meal as well. Not too overwhelmingly so, just enough. Food was solid. Menu has all the classics and a few house specialty dishes. I stared my meal with a small queso and went with the lunch order of Chilaquiles. The Chilaquiles had chicken and a red sauce that was perfection. Not too thick, but also not runny or watery. It stuck to the chicken, cheese and chips very nicely. It was a pretty tasty lunch! The queso was standard, nothing special, but it was exactly what I was after. Only thing keeping it from a full 5 star is value. While the Chilaquiles and rice were well priced and worth the $12.99, the small queso coming in at $6.50 and the side of sour cream pushing $2.00 was a bit surprising. Overall, solid Mexican spot that I would happily swing back by when in White House!
