While not everything is 100% dandy (there's still a lot of construction going on so many amenities are closed), I have to say, this redo of my review is mainly for how Ryan, the manager handled everything. If I could give it 0 stars I would, it is Saturday morning and I got woken up at 7:58AM by the leaf blower guy AGAIN (this is constant occurrence on weekends btw). After a grueling week at work all I want is to be able to sleep in. The offices claim they "have no say in what days get schedules" - so who does? so they have no control of their own premises? that's comforting.... If you are looking for a peaceful quiet place, avoid Solazzo at all cost, the manager in 'charge' cares not if you have ears, or any other accommodation needs for the matter. Its a very "it is what it is" mentality here when it comes to community work, maintenance, and disruptions to renters. The noise level in this place is at a 8/10 Monday-Sunday that's right all week long, you get no relief not even on weekends. I get that there is nothing they can do about the 3am howling of the coyotes, that's nature, but you're telling me they cannot plan out maintenance to their complex to uphold the promise they make of providing you with a safe and relaxing place to live? Irvine Company prides themselves in high quality (I lived in Palmeras in Irvine proper for years and this NEVER happened) the company motto is 'love where you live" not Solazzo, you wont love it. They will discriminate against you if you have a disability. They have left threatening voicemails and email communications, despite me not being in any disability program, because of my complaints. They only eased off after I quoted all the state and federal laws. The management here and Irvine Company will discriminate against you for having any protected disability. They are currently discriminating against me for having several protected rights and having sent threatening emails and voicemails regarding the constant contractual obligations they aren't committing, like a safe and quiet environment. They entered our apartment without notice, no notices for major work, no notices for major sitewide maintenance. The management has no tact, and when I asked for corporate, they gave me a generic number and email. Beware if you have a disability here and avoid this place. Plus, there is piss poor planning everywhere. They will have constant maintenance and noise. There will be days that noise in the property will rival downtown. If you work from home, avoid this place. There is constant maintenance, landscaping, and other misc. noises that make this place unbearable. If you're a student, it's convenient to UCSD. That's it. You don't want this place if you want to be a student discovering SD. This is far from it, and frankly, a place you will regret if you're out of country and out of state. We have lived here for 6 months, 2 of which have had construction, partial closures of the premises, and 1 month of constant tree work -- chainsaws and heavy machinery to cut down trees and bushes. They will run their leaf blowers everyday and during the early hours. The trash and recycle come Saturdays between 6-7 AM and you will never get to sleep in while living here. It isn't safe. The premises are completely open and anyone can enter the facilities. We've had several packages stolen from our doorstep and several break-ins. Our neighbors told us they broke into their car and another that stuff from their balcony was stolen. Beware this and other Irvine Company properties. Keep looking. This isn't it. read more

Staff at Solazzo is very unprofessional. I would like to express my bewilderment and disappointment at the work Sollazzo staff. Each time, any of my basic questions was accompanied by "system freezes" - "come next time", endless clarifications from other colleagues, phone calls to someone to clarify the issue, as a result, even the information provided turned out to be incorrect and the conclusion was always the same - misunderstanding or "sharing of responsibility between me and someone else then the mystical who provided false information". I moved out of the apartment, before leaving I checked with 4 (FOUR!!!) different employees how the deposit would be returned to me - everyone said that it would be my bank card. As a result, purely by chance it turns out after I clarified where the money is - that it turns out it will be a check and I didn't tell someone my new address, but they were waiting for me like that - no one even asked me about it - how can I guess about it? zero missed calls. Still no refund to my bank account and no check. Be careful with this company as they will do the best don't refund your deposit. Unfortunately I don't know how to deal with this company - still don't get my refund - already wrote complaint to Sasha Torres ( person who "work" with customers complaint) and even she forgot about my request. read more

It's a great complex if you love overpriced units with paper-thin walls, amenities that are broken most of the time (and if not broken, close at 6PM for some reason? Who has time during the workday to use the pool at 2PM?), broken appliances (I made 5 different work orders to have the dishwasher fixed - spoiler alert: it still kept breaking), and random non-residents walking through the parking lot at all hours of the day. My favorite Solazzo moment: some random guy came up to my unit multiple times late at night asking if I "wanted to buy some candy?" and then left when I said no. When I emailed the front office, they told me there wasn't anything they could do about it and that I should just "call the cops". Thanks for the peace of mind, Solazzo. The location is solid, but there's plenty of other places in that area that are cheaper/less sketchy/run by people who actually care about the residents of the community. Do yourself a favor and live somewhere else. read more

Expensive for what you get and the leasing office is really hard to get in contact with. It's convenient if you are a student, but other than that it's really hard to justify staying here. If I could I would only give 5 stars to the maintenance staff, Juan is the guy who helps us usually and he's always very nice and accommodating. But my issues with Solazzo are mostly with the leasing office. We were forced into a 14 month lease because the front office did not send us the 12 month option when they should have. Even though it was their mistake they did not correct it. My car has been been broken into back when there were no cameras in the garage. When I asked about the lack of cameras they said it was due to privacy reasons. But now there are cameras, and since the installation my bike was stolen from the communal locker. The apartment itself is nice, location is great, and its a comfortable place to live. But a 2bed/2bath for $3000 with rent control is a lot. Every year it goes up, but it's not like the living situation is getting any better. I'm finally moving out of Solazzo this year, so I might update the review depending on what happens in the meantime. Overall: if you're a student and you have the means to live here it's nice and convenient. Maintenance is quick and friendly. But if you have logistical problems with the apartment, it's going to be hard finding any solution with the front office. read more

I have had a lot of problems living here and can't recommend it for the following reasons: 1.my car has been broken into TWO TIMES. Yes my window was smashed in the garage here. There is literally no security and they refuse to give me any kind of reimbursement. YOUR CAR WILL LIKELY BE VANDALIZED HERE. 2. The walls are sooooooo thin. You can hear EVERYTHING above you and below you and next to you. 3. If you take my apt (268) you will hear the loudest and most annoying person you've ever met. He lives above me and he snores so loud that you'll hear it in you dreams. He also stomps around all day and makes animal noises. 4. You cannot escape the person who snores above you!!!!!!!!!!!! 5. They increase the rent even when you're over paying. 6. Currently my rent is above asking (literally they insist my rent must go up despite the fact they have 15 apts for rent hundreds of dollars cheaper) and they will not offer me the same rent. In fact they are INCREASING my rent despite the fact my car was broken into twice and the neighbors snore so loud. I am looking forward to moving out. It's unsafe and your neighbors may snore louder than anything you've ever heard. On the plus side the staff here are extremely nice and professional, the grounds are really beautiful, and maintenance requests are always completed quickly. This place is a hellhole and i hope you stay far far away. I cannot wait to get out of here next month but I pray for the person who takes my unit. They'll never sleep again. read more

I lived in Solazzo from December 2018 to August 2020. Although it is a great location near UCSD and the 5, the actual community of Solazzo is not a place I recommend. I had so many bad experiences here and it was always a struggle to get management to help. My review would be too long if I listed out all the negative experiences, so I've summarized the top ones below. WATER When I moved in, the hot water was not working. After maintenance came to fix it, the water only ran super hot to the point of burning my skin. After I complained more, they finally fixed it, I think replacing the whole water heater. Shouldn't they have taken care of this before I moved in?! Mold was present around various windows when I moved in. When I complained, Solazzo told me I needed to keep up with cleaning because it was a humid environment near the ocean. I had just moved in about a week ago! I eventually convinced them to clean the windows. For the last three to four months of my time at Solazzo, the bathroom sink smelled like sewage every time I turned on the faucet. Solazzo came a couple times to clean the sink (I think they just poured some highly fragrant cover up cleaner down the drain). When that didn't work and I complained again, they insisted the City of San Diego was to blame--they claimed it provides smelly water. This doesn't make sense to me, however, because the shower water and kitchen sink water did not smell. HEAT Soon after I moved in (late December), the heater broke. I had to complain numerous times before Irvine Company finally replaced the heater. This was during a cold snap when it was extremely cold (for La Jolla). PESTS In about March/April 2020, flying ants invaded my kitchen. This was not a few ants here and there... This was a full on colony. They would swarm and fly down from the kitchen lighting fixtures onto me and my food. I had to tape the lighting fixtures shut and keep the lights off in order to use my kitchen. At first, Solazzo told me that pest control services were not available because of the pandemic. After I tried using Raid and ant traps to no avail, I finally convinced them that a professional was needed. I vacated the apartment and worked in the clubhouse while pest control came a couple times. Next, bees came down from the same kitchen light fixtures! This was not a couple of bees here and there. (See picture of taped up lighting fixture.) Angry bees poured down over the course of about a week. I had to leave my apartment and stay in the Residence Inn down the street for two days while a professional beekeeper came to kill them. Solazzo did pay for the Residence Inn and cleaned my carpet, which was dirty and smelly from dead bees smushed all over. However, I spent a lot of time cleaning bee guts off of blinds, cabinets, etc. and ruined my Dyson vacuum in the process. It was extremely stressful to have my apartment invaded by angry bees during the pandemic while trying to work from home. They refused to discount my rent for the month or offer me some other type of credit as an apology. After I provided receipts for the cleaning supplies and tape I had to buy, they did reimburse me a small amount of money. NEIGHBORS Like others have mentioned, the apartments themselves are super cheap, made of the thinnest, flimsiest materials so that you can hear your neighbors even if they just cough. Solazzo says it is a non-smoking community but I regularly smelled smoke (tobacco and weed) and vaping (of course after the leasing office staff had gone home for the day). I saw empty packs of cigarettes in the garage for months. When I told management about smokers, they ignored me. When my neighbor repeatedly left trash bags outside her front door, the management also did not address the situation despite my multiple complaints. STAFF Even moving out was a headache... It took three phone calls and three written messages (at least two emails and one online form) to schedule a walk through and get the basics on move out procedure. Then, it took several emails and calls to get through to someone who could explain my final bill. After COVID, it seems to me that Irvine Company cut its staff. For example, I went three months with broken blinds and a broken TP holder. It seems like they gave all maintenance projects to one guy. He (Robert) seems like a good guy but he is only one man! Stop being so cheap, Irvine Company, and give him some assistants... Management was rude and condescending to me numerous times. I strongly recommend staying away from this overpriced and incompetently managed place. read more

How is this even allowed? Isn't this why we pay such exorbitant rents - for these amenities? Also, as for my washer, they reached out to book another service appointment from 9 to 11am on a Saturday. When nobody had showed up by noon, I emailed them to ask what's going on and why there was no communication. This clearly worked as someone showed up within the hour I do have the say, the service guys here are genuinely the nicest friendliest people. They're the one shining star when it comes to service at Solazzo / Irvine. After trying to fix the machine, he came to the conclusion that these machines suck and the common solution on Google is to always run the settings with a "deep wash" with a "double rinse" turned on, no matter how small the load. Lo and behold, that seems to have worked on the next load. I just wish they had told me that a year ago and saved me so much headache! read more

It am living in Solazzo Apartment for eight months. It has been pleasant experience so far. # Leasing Office All staff members are very kind and willing to help me when I have issues. Also, they hold several interesting events for residents such as bagel day(every first Saturday of the month), free pizza day on super bowl, free donuts on final week of the school, etc. #Maintenance Service The apartment team shows a very quick response regarding maintenance. My unit had water heater issue, so I requested to get it fixed at 11:00pm via online app. On next day in the morning around 10:00am, which I preferred, one of the technician members (Julio) came to my unit and made it quickly. I am so grateful for his wonderful service and professionalism. # Location The apartment is definitely located in a awesome neighborhood. Only 10 minutes away from La Jolla Village Square on foot. (2minutes driving) In addition, it is close to UCSD to commute. # Amenities There are clubhouse, jacuzzi, gym, and pool that you can fully enjoy while staying. read more

I rented here for a few months during covid. I called the main office to let them know I would be vacating within the appropriate time frame. They sent me a piece of paper that unbeknownst to me sat in the mailbox there (which I rarely check as it was a temporary living situation). Because I didn't get this piece of paper and sign it and send it back they claim I now owe them another month of rent. Granted they sent the paper because I let them know I was vacating with the appropriate 30 days notice, but the paper that sat in the mailbox is now costing an additional months rent. They are unwilling to listen to any good reason. They also had hideous water bugs crawling out of every drain in the apartment. Good luck if you rent here, they are unethical in my opinion. read more

I was living in Solazzo for over 3 years and finally moved out while it was still pandemic a while ago. At the beginning I was very satisfied with the environment, neighboring, and staffs. However, since 2019, a few key staffs that I had been in contact with left and the remaining staffs I met (maybe not all) were not professional at all, rude and un-responsible. This review is all for their staff. 1. Very slow in processing ANY thing. The new staff from 2019 I met could not answer any questions clearly. You need to communicate with them through tons of emails and they still could not give you any useful and clear information. They are very sloppy and don't want to help at all. 2. Very rude at the leasing office. Some of them never say hi when she saw you. I miss the warm smile from previous staff team in years 2016-2018. 3. Very mean with your rental price. They just want higher and higher price and don't care if the increase is reasonable. Management was condescending to me just like Gerard L. reviewed. 4. The one star is for the maintenance guys. They have been really nice. 5. CAN any high-level managers see this? Please re-think of your staff training. I would like to suggest a tenant survey for evaluating their performance. I've lived here for the better part of the last two years. What a TERRIBLE place to live. On the surface Solazzo looks all nice and glamorous, but really it's just a pretentious "luxury" apartment home that's anything but. ***THE CONSTANT CONSTRUCTION GOING ON YEAR ROUND THAT BEGINS AT 8AM IS NOT APPRECIATED BY STUDENTS WHO NEEDS SLEEP*** Irvine company wants the people living there to feel like the place is always under construction and so it's always ~newly refurbished~. Oh, that's great isn't it? Until you realize the only reason they have people hammering and drilling from 8am in the morning till the afternoon is so they can jack up the prices, knowing that the vacant spots in Solazzo will always be filled in because of its proximity to UCSD and the necessity of housing for students. They take advantage of the people who can afford this place, which is roughly $2900 for a two bedroom apartment, but really it's worth half of that. On top of that, the apartments themselves have had SO many problems. There are water stains on the floor in the bathroom, mould growing on the windows, and even BUG INFESTATIONS. These aren't even apartments homes, they're literally cardboard boxes. I can hear my neighbors talking, coughing, sneezing, showering, having sex, you name it. I can even hear their microwave. I'd rather go live in an actual cardboard box somewhere quiet than live in this God forsaken place. I will attach photos to this review but currently I'm in bed trying my best to fall back asleep to the constant hammering that characterizes solazzo in a nutshell. Don't live here if you want peaceful sleep. Don't live here if you don't want to feel like your neighbors are literally right next to you inspecting your every move. Just don't live here. Solazzo is a great community that is walking distance to Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Starbucks, chipotle, and Philz coffee. I've been super impressed with the staff and maintenance. Whenever we have an issue, Robert is there to help the next day. the community is great if you have a dog as well, so many dog parents and a nice dog park (although some owners don't pickup their dog poop). read more

I have been living here 4 years now and it's been a wonderful experience. My unit was newly remodeled when I moved in so I was the first one living there with the new wood floors, stainless steel appliances, new cabinetry and washer and dryer which was nice. Anna has always been such a professional, friendly and accommodating leasing agent. She is very responsive and wants to ensure that you enjoy your living situation. The maintenance staff is AMAZING. I put in requests and they come and fix them within a few hours. They are super friendly and polite and do a great job. Moved out and after one year, I would never recommend this place: 1. Not move in ready. I moved in and the toilet would not flush, nor was there hot water. Definitely a problem at night when maintenance couldn't fix it until the next morning. Also other minor issues like two of the stove tops not working and light bulbs out. 2. Cheap appliances and materials used. I had just about every appliance fixed here within a year - dishwasher twice, disposal, washer, dryer. There was also a board that wasn't glued down and there was an upside down rusty nail on it, so my baby almost stepped on a rusted nail. Terribly unsafe conditions if you have children. 3. Maintenance tells me things are not problems. Dryer was venting into the apartment instead of outside, so it would get really hot when I ran the dryer. They said "oh yeah, that's normal" but I insisted that it was unsafe, and eventually they changed the dryer hose to exhaust to outside. Wow, a 5 minute fix took an hour to argue. Also, the toilet was running and they said that was normal. Windows were molded when I moved in - that's "part of resident cleaning" apparently, even if you just moved in. 4. If you're handicapped, have children, or use a stroller, look elsewhere. Tons of stairs, and if you want to exit through the main entrance, you cannot use the sidewalk as there is no ramp. You need to use the street, which is dangerous. Also, the sidewalks stop and end often within the complex, so you need to go from sidewalk to street, or just stay in the street. 5. If you do not damage anything and the apartment is in the same condition as it was when you move in, they will still charge you painting and carpet cleaning. I didn't bother cleaning because I heard they will end up charging you $177 for cleaning anyways. But they will also charge you $318 for painting and $112 for carpet cleaning - during the final inspection, the maintenance worker agreed there was no damage but those are "standard charges". That is not customary nor is it legal in the state of California - the law is that you pay for damage, not normal wear and tear. Go somewhere else. read more

I recently relocated from the "South Bay" area in Los Angeles County to Solazzo Apartments. It has been almost a month in my new place. While this move was not voluntary, I'm so glad I chose Solazzo Apartments as a place to live. Prior to moving in, I read the reviews here, as well as, for Irvine Company. They truly are phenomenal property management company and it has been nothing but a positive experience. Not only do I love my place, but the leasing staff at Solazzo Apartments, particularly Anna Haliw and Matthew Escobar, are fantastic. They have been a joy to work with and also super patient with me. Everyone has been so kind, helpful and very welcoming - even the grounds crew asks how I'm liking my place, how things are going, etc., so I wanted to provide further feedback other than a '10' rating on Irvine Company's survey that is sent out. Anna, is a rare gem. Her friendliness, sense of urgency, her treatment of everyone (myself included), like they are her favorite tenant blows my mind. And while I know I probably tested Matthew's patience, he never showed it. Instead, he continued to be diplomatic and genuinely helpful at the same time. People like Anna & Mathew with the genuine sincerity and concern for others, as well as, the willingness to go above and beyond ALL THE TIME, simply does not exist anymore. I've been truly blown away by both of them. If I am ever in a position to hire staff, I would be poaching Irvine Company to hire both Anna & Matthew for my team! read more

I lived in Solazzo for a year (June 2018 - June 2019) and, being an inexperienced college student with other inexperienced college students, they really got us with location and thought we were getting a deal with the price. However, our experience was not worth the price we paid. TLDR; If you are a college student: prices are very high (unless you have the $$$), constant construction, and thinking "the bus stop is right there" isn't worth it because you'll get skipped almost every time. Friendly staff and good maintenance. There was a lot of water maintenance going on where our water would get shut down during unconventional hours. My roommates and I probably got the short end of the stick because there were renovations our apartment like a month before we moved out so we had to deal with difficult showers, pay for our carpet replacement (when we had already gotten the carpet cleaned). Overall, it wasn't terrible. It just wasn't amazing either. ## Leasing Office The leasing office and staff was honestly really great! Mandy was really fun and it was easy to talk to the staff. However, while we were moving in we did not show up on the directory for like 1/2 of our lease and we talked to the office about it several times. It was finally fixed and we were happy. And yet, near the end of our lease, they updated the directory again and we were no longer on the directory. However, I really appreciated the fun things they did like Bagel Saturdays, candy in the office during Halloween, Krispy Kreme donuts, and the occasional food truck. They also had a texting service which was pretty nice for apartment-wide updates (office closed, free food, food truck, etc.) If you forget to pay rent you get a text reminder so you avoid any late fees as well. ## Maintenance Maintenance was really great and quick to respond. Whenever we had a problem, it would get fixed within a day or so. Honestly, that was one of the best things about it. The entire time we were there the ice machine in our freezer wasn't working though. We called maintenance and they supposedly "fixed it" but it still didn't work. It was on us for not following up, but they were very confident that they fixed it so we left it at that. ## Construction/Renovations Terrible, this wasn't even talked about when we were signing the lease. Maybe my roommates and I just got the short end of the stick but from beginning to end we were at constant construction and renovation. At first, it was the street right next to us (Gilman) (which I understand is technically out of their control but it was still a hindrance) and construction would go from 8AM-3PM. Then we had assigned parking spots but they decided to go with open parking while they were fixing the pipes in the parking garages. However, after the problem resolved they decided to keep the open parking after all. And at some point they decided to change the parking lines from white to dark green? Which is kind of hard to see... Then there were the many water shutoffs during very unconventional hours (though it may have been mainly my building). There were 10 within the last 3 months of my lease. They decided to do renovations to our showers while we were still living in the apartments at 8-11AM. It was extremely loud and smelled awful and BOTH our bathrooms were unusable at that time (and at those times almost everybody was home). We had a pre-move out inspection and cleaned to the best of our abilities. My only problem is that we were told we would pay for the carpet cleaning and so we got our carpet cleaned. I did not think that I would have to update the review on how bad it is to live here, but here I am.The first time I came on here was to complain and warn people about the crappy job maintain does at fixing my pantry that has had to be fix about 10 times, and the cheapness of the apartment overall. Construction and landscaping daily, poor management, and zero amenities. Almost every time maintenance comes to "fix" something it is done with the upmost laziness and they just bandage the problem away. I recently posted a review about my pantry and now i am here to talk about management. Maintenance not doing the job right is bad but when i have to take the next step to make sure that it is done correctly (which is calling management), management does nit do any better. Almost 2 hours ago I called the leasing office to ask for someone to come fix my dryer AGAIN because the vent was put on just on top, and had fallen off. I explained why i did not put in a maintenance request, being that i have a wet load in the dryer and one in the washer. Management said they'd get back to me. Surprisingly not, they didn't get back to me and I had to walk over to the office because they were not answering my calls. When I got there Annalise, who answered my first call by the way, said they'd be over in 20 min. Stay tuned to see if that actually happens. Not to mention they did not clean out my dryer before i moved in which was the reason i called the first time, because all of my clothes was filthy with lint! If you want to deal with these kinds of issues, rent with Solazzo. There are apartments in this area, and UTC that appear to look less nice but I bet have better management, maintenance and buildings overall. They apartment is really nice on the inside but you can hear your neighbors all the time. People leave their dog poop in walkways, construction is 24:7 and when you put in a maintenance request, you most definitely will have to chase down management a second time for the task to be done properly. read more

I'm trying to love it here. I love irvine apartments but this one is taking its toll on me and I've only been here since July. Our move in was horrendous. Clogged toliets, lint stuffed broken dryer, door handle fallen off, stained carpets, etc etc all discovered within 12 hrs of moving in. Then a couple days later come to find out we owed money for a deposit...mind you this was NOT on the online account and solazzo admitted to not posting it until late... so how is that my fault? They threatened with a 3 day... and I said no we will pay but we were not told until now about it and it's not online. obviously paid but that was my breaking point. Did they even do a stupid run through of the apartment!? And really I don't want to pay you $500 for a security deposit when my apartment is crap and YOU forgot to tell me about it. Talked to manager who was very nice. Everyone at solazzo is nice. Which is why it's a bummer everything.. else has been bad. She did take a couple hundred.off our next month rent for all the hassle. As well as made note about the carpet so we are not responsible. Which was great... but then things continued... Then later we complained about the freezer not working properly... with water gushing down from the condensation line.. finally got that replaced after two complaints. Then from the start of talking to Solazzo they said 3rd floor has a fireplace... we are on the 3rd floor. Upon move in we noticed we were missing the key for the gas. Solazzo didn't have any so they ordered more which was on back order. Then they couldn't. . And still haven't. . Deliver them because the gas is capped for an unknown reason. Best part... this is the whole complex. No one can use fireplaces. And solazzo still advertises fireplaces front page of their mobile site. Awesome guys. So why 3 stars... the people are nice, they have food trucks that come often, car detailers, etc. Which is nice. Just my personal experience with the complex particularly my apartment has been a headache. read more

Dane and Anna have been so great showing the apartments and being available for questions! I first saw the place with Dane who answered all my questions and did a great job showing the place without being too "sales-y" (i.e. not feeling like a used car dealership). I came back 2 days later with my wife and Anna showed us the apartment again and had all the answers to our questions. Both Dane and Anna have been spectacular in reply times and keeping us updated in the application process. It's like having an apartment move-in concierge! This review is for pre-move in. I do not feel safe here. First a man tried to break into my bedroom through the window in the middle of the night. He was outside my apartment, beating on the window, which is single pane and flimsy. I called Solazzo's security line, but they had nobody nearby and the man got away. Instead of putting bars over the window or replacing it with a stronger window, Solazzo management gave me a lock that you can buy on Amazon for two dollars. It only keeps the window from being slid open sideways, and doesn't make any difference if someone is trying to push the window in. Then someone scraped my car in the garage and I asked management if they had security cameras in the garage that might have told me who did it. Management told me they do not have any security cameras in the garage. Lighting in the garage is also not good. A few months later, someone ransacked my car, stealing items from it, when it was parked in the same garage. You would have thought that management would have known it was a good idea to install security cameras, but they still had none. So again, I can't find out who the perpetrator is. At the same time that management refuses to take security measures, they are squeezing current tenants with big rent increases. We are paying more money despite the fact that management has closed many of the amenities. I believe their rent increases illegally violate the limitations on price gouging that apply under the current state of emergency declared in California. I can't wait to get out of here in a few months. Management is greedy and does not care about the safety of the tenants. read more

*pictures will be attached* I have lived in Solazzo for about 5 months now and although it is a pretty community, a lot of things should definitely be dealt with. First of all, I have had 2 leaks in my apartment between October and January. They were both in the same spot in my living room, and both times maintenance was in and out for 4 days each which caused us to stay home to make sure our cat did not escape. The first time the leak was fixed, a final clean up was never done, supplies such as plastic covering for furniture was left in the apartment and I had to personally push all of my furniture back into place because it was not done, sweep and mop the floors, and dispose of the leftover equipment. The maintenance workers are very prompt at doing their job and arriving to fix things, and they are very kind, so I do not think they are doing a bad job. The second leak was fixed, but there is now a big yellow stain on my ceiling where it was fixed and I do not know why. In January I discovered a large amount of mold surrounding my bedroom window and living room sliding glass door. I have bad asthma and had been sick for 9 weeks without knowing the cause. I now think the mold was the problem. I even went to the doctor and she could not figure out what was wrong with me. The mold was never tested, just partially cleaned. I was left to clean the rest by myself, which I'm assuming is not very safe. I have now discovered a third problem with my ceiling, this time in the bathroom. There is a giant spot with bubbling paint on my ceiling next to the vent. I have been told it is not a leak, but I still do not know what it is and why I was able to poke a hole in my ceiling just by checking to see if it was wet. I cannot even open my living room blinds because the man that lives across from us smokes every 5 minutes (I wish this were an exaggeration) and can see directly into my living room and bedroom. Another thing that bothers me is that there is not a handicap accessible entrance to the pool and gym area. My grandmother came to visit me but could not come down there with me because the only way down is if you take the stairs, which she cannot do. It was extremely heartbreaking and disappointing. When I first moved in, there was a mini bandaid stuck to the wall next to the washing machine, which is pretty gross. There was also a stain from water damage on the floor of my bathroom, which is still there. There was black dirt in the closet and hallway cabinet, and they both smelled odd. There were also stains in the bathtub and kitchen cabinets, and our sliding door was broken and to this day is hard to lock and unlock. The floors were filthy and we had to mop them 3 times for them to finally be clean. My parking spot is so small that sometimes I cannot even park there because my small Yaris does not fit. I tried to get a new one when I first moved in, but was told new ones wouldn't be available for months. For the high price I am paying for this apartment, I expect things to be much better. I was only offered 50 dollars total for all the troubles I went through with the two leaks, which seems wrong. I shouldn't have to pay thousands of dollars to have multiple leaks in my ceiling, and mold in my windows that I was told would just keep happening, and that nothing could be done about it. I have read other reviews saying people have experienced leaks too, so this seems like a problem with the complex as a whole, and not just my unit. I expected better from Solazzo because I was really looking forward to living here. Please just be cautious when deciding whether or not to live here, I do not think it is worth it. My whole time living here has been more stressful than school has been for me. read more

This is the worst place I have lived in by far. Constant construction year round, they offered assigned parking when we signed the lease and now it's: park wherever you can find parking, "because we are painting the garages and we don't have time nor want to put more effort in reorganizing the parking situation" and by the looks of it, since they used the cheapest materials they can find, the garages will need to be painted again in 6 months. The parking spots barely fit compact cars so good luck with that if you have a regular vehicle. AND the construction crew WILL show up outside your window and crawl into your balcony, regardless of whether you are dressed or not, they won't even give you a warning! Or the warning will be sent by text with the wrong dates and times, and 3 hours after the work started!!! So if you want to constantly wake up to the sound of drills and hammers, and want no privacy at all in your own apartment, then this is the place for you. Whoever answered to this review obviously is not an on-site personnel at Solazzo, otherwise you would know who I am because I complained about these issues by email and on the phone with someone at the office. And by the way, dark green paint on black asphalt isn't the best choice of color specially for color blind people, and please have the parking space numbers, the yellow ones also repainted because we can't see them. read more

I have been with Irvine company for seven years but living at Solazzo in La Jolla, California has been truly a wonderful experience. The grounds are so clean and the maintenance is above expectation. Even the doggy park is kept clean and free from odor. The front office staff are amazing and always there for anything I need.
