I had a great experience touring with Vee. She was very knowledgeable, patient, and never made me feel rushed. She took the time to answer all of my questions and made sure I understood everything about the apartment and community. Her friendly attitude made the tour enjoyable, and I left feeling much more confident about my housing decision. Highly recommend working with her! read more

Despite all of the positive reviews, the experience Lux by Garden provided was horrific. The manager of the property is a corporate joke. While the property is beautiful, I have had multiple things in my apartment stolen. Highly recommend looking elsewhere at other high end apartments in the area, that actually provide what they claim. read more

This review is about my experience checking the facilities and the customer service, not as a resident. A couple of my friends are crazy to get a transfer from to San Diego. With the hopes that corporate will fork the bill, they asked me to go and do some research for them (as they are located in SF bay area and the websites can sometimes be misleading). So LUX caught my attention, and I was super well toured by Bradley who did not hesitate to show me all the premises as requested even though I told him chances were that my friends cannot afford such luxurious apartments. Yes they are luxurious and location is prime. I was in love with the whole Art Deco-Great Gatsby vibe and constantly emphasized to him how much I liked the decor, the great taste in furniture and the fantastic bathrooms too. He told me about the interior designer that curated all the great pieces exposed everywhere and I fell in love with the theme and especially the rooftop pool. I had never seen downtown view from UTC rooftop...so here you go, my visit was well worth it. I also had the opportunity to talk to some residents - mostly people working at Apple, Google and biotech companies- and all were excited to share their experiences. I think this is one of the nicest apartment complexes I have ever visited and being just right by the UTC mall is a total plus read more

The management is very disappointing. I'd recommend other buildings as there are multiple in the area. For the money you pay, you can do a lot better elsewhere. read more

My husband and I recently toured both the Jewel and Lux towers of this property and fell instantly in love. Although we will not be moving for a few more months, we thought we would get ahead of schedule and look around at various luxury apartment options in the area. After touring other possibilities, we now know that this is at the very top of our list. Every common area and amenity is jaw-dropping, and we cannot find anything that even remotely compares! A huge thank you to Jacob for the tour and for his follow-up. We are counting down the months until we can be residents! read more

i love this place way more than the one i'm gonna be living in. totally want to switch but no availability right now. i'll wait! these apts are modern, spacious and all that i've been in have amazing views. safety is a big concern for me and they seek to have way more security than most other places in the area. hope i can move here soon after i move down permanently. read more

The trolley screeches right past my living room and bedroom--from 4:30 a.m. to midnight, every 15 minutes. It also blares warning horns so pedestrians don't cross the tracks, and there's no sound barrier at all. Traffic on Genesee Ave is loud, too, and the Route 41 bus stop downstairs blasts its announcements. The constant noise ruins my sleep and work; I'm forced to study between midnight and 4:30 a.m. just to enjoy a rare moment of quiet. During the day I'd rather stay on UCSD campus for quietness and don't want to go home, UCSD 23 story pepper canyon west apartment next to trolley doesn't have much noises and it's only $1350 per month for single bedroom. The leasing office refuses to give me a free unit change. This is ridiculous for $5090 per month rent. read more

Eileen and Brad we're terrific!! They were always responsive and professional!! Highly recommend them and Lux. I think if I had kids in college and they needed a place to stay that is safe, this would be a great option, especially for someone out of the country who is worried about their kids. That location is safe and close to all the shopping you could ever want. read more

LUX by Garden - Apartments Near Me - San Diego, California

Our lease is up in February and I cannot wait to move out. For one, they don't have a front desk person (unless you are in the jewel tower) so good luck getting packages after 5, you would think they would give residents a code to give to delivery drivers but nope they can't even do that. Even when the leasing office is here they don't do much. Half the time my packages are left somewhere they shouldn't be because the leasing office is too lazy to bring them to the elevator and up to my floor. The apartments are pricey, yet they are built dorm room cheap. Carpet is not good quality, floor boards aren't even, cracks between floor boards and carpet, paint rubs off is you brush against it, and our bedroom doesn't even have a window you can open. Views surrounding apartments aren't nice. There's a dog park that's supposed to be only for lux residents but there is no security system so anyone can come, not to mention the dog park isn't kept to the standards that they are charging for. They throw events for the residents which is nice but lately they have been doing less. Food trucks they have come in sucks. Security doesn't answer right away so don't call if you actually have an issue. They require an absurd amount of paperwork in the beginning and aren't even organized about it, demanding we send in more paperwork AFTER our lease was approved/moved in and threatened our lease would be terminated if we didn't send it in in time, even though that's their mistake. All around would not recommend moving here even if rent was cheaper. read more

DONT MOVE IN LUX. The celings have cracks in them. The hallways stink. There is trash all over the place.

I am amazed with this place! I went to go tour for one of their apartments. Linard made the whole experience of the tour amazing! Specially the amenities and views of this place to die for!! read more

I would highly recommend not living in this building. It's bad. Really bad. And it's full of bugs--this is a very common issue with most residents. read more

This is a great building to live. I want to give a special shout out to Jose and Ben. In addition to the location, amenities, etc. They have been a pleasure to interact with. Jose and his team are responsive, efficient, and always go above and beyond to keep the building in pristine condition. What truly sets this condo apart is the incredible maintenance team. Whether it's routine maintenance or an unexpected issue, they handle everything with professionalism. If you're looking for a place where you can live comfortably and confidently, this condo is an excellent choice. read more

We love living at LUX! Lux is located in a great accessible and central location. It is very well-kept, has beautiful finishing touches, and is safe! Not to mention the amenities are to die for. I couldn't ask for a better management/ leasing office. They go above and beyond to make sure we are taken of. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and very mindful of all residents. Any maintenance issues or building questions are addressed quickly and professionally. They truly go out of their way to make LUX feel like home. Best place to live! read more

I lived in this apartment for 13 month, the experience was great, it is probably the highest standard in Utc area, in comparison, Palisades has great amenities but the service still needs to catch up. Lux has great services from maintains, transportation, valet, and very friendly leasing office located in the lobby, you can pretty much tell them any problem about ur apartment. They will help immediately. And btw, I laugh so hard when I see the previous review about peter, Peter is a very nice and responsible person, he's been helping me a lot since I moved in on last November. read more

Staff hides behind the quality of properly to Justify poor service and ultimately bad behavior. This is probably the most recent and Accurate review you will get of someone living at the THE JEWEL not just toured the places which should be allowed on here as an actual review. (5 months living here) not at Lux however they are the same management team. To keep it short and real (not including all the stories and scenarios) unfortunately Majority of The Jewel residents share the same experience and feeling towards living at The Jewel. The place beautiful! Management is awful! The apartment Manager, Summer, has single handedly ruined the experience for almost every JEWEL Resident I have spoke with. With Summer you learn you need to give her customer service treatment vs expecting it from her, expect all the condescending response you could think of, be prepared for her to never take responsibility for anything she or someone at management made a mistake on or failed to deliver on, also she has openly blamed staff instead of being the Manager and taken responsibility, best way to handle something is walking in but he ready to be greeted by a face that say "what do you want" instead of "what can I help with" If you don't EVER have to deal with a management issue you will pretty much enjoy it, the property is beautiful the people (residence) are great! Leasing team is bit better then management we had a few hiccups they handled things fairly ok. However if you are expecting to be treated in accordance to what you will be paying to live her you will be very disappointed. Oh and not to mention the final fix to things is instead of proving a real solution is "if you want to end your lease you can!" When what they should be saying is "we are really sorry let me honestly and earnestly come up with a solution that works". read more

We are so happy with our apartment and the entire process of getting the lease and moving in. Aileen, leasing manager, was very helpful and made everything easy for us. Whenever she wasn't immediately available, she would get back to us quickly with answers or information. Aileen, Jose and the entire team at LUX is friendly and helpful. Our apartment is beautiful and the building itself has some great amenities. The building is spotless! Everything is kept as clean as new. We are looking forward to enjoying our new place. read more

If you like illegal noise disturbances @ 6AM that wake up your family countless times, move here! This photo does not do the piercing noise any justice. The sound is so loud, even through closed doors and windows it wakes up my entire sleeping family @ 6AM. Expect this to continue! They have 3 more towers going up & have barely made progress on the current one. The cops have been called AGAIN so hopefully change is made ASAP. After 2 years of living here, there are several issues that have never been resolved, due to incompetence and neglect from the management team/ corporate at LUX UTC. To begin: Living at LUX is like living at a posh museum. The hours on the amenities compare to those at retirement communities, and do not allow for residents to enjoy sunrise on the rooftop we are paying a fortune for. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the management took the opportunity to cancel the highly promoted amenities and events at LUX without adjusting the price of rent. There has not been a single event (even a COVID-safe event attempt) or service provided (such as baked goods occasionally, food tastings, etc). No excuse for this whatsoever when many local apartment communities tried to come up with ideas for COVID-safe events. Nope not LUX. They were just happy to save money. This building advertised a Towncar operating for the residents but they have since stopped the service with no return date in site. Valet has left the property. If you live here be prepared never to rest from construction sounds as there will be several more buildings built in the coming future around the corner. The gym is no longer 24/7 as advertised. The trash room has so many flies, gnats, and pests that fly up through the trash chutes onto trash rooms on each floor, and the smell of trash is always somewhat lingering in the hallways (no matter how much air freshener they try to choke us with). This is the only luxury property around without a doorman, building manager, or valet/security onsite 24/7 and you cannot get into the building without a FOB. The management team actually has the audacity to stay out of office now on Sunday and Monday, making it even harder to coordinate deliveries. Sure they are nice to you when you are trying to rent something in the building but they have consistently failed to address resident issues. It is a constant struggle to get anything delivered, you constantly have to deal with missed deliveries, stolen packages, and just complete neglect from the management team to solve this issue as capacity increased in the building. I no longer feel safe walking up the building entrance in the parking or in front because more often than not there are strangers waiting for someone to let them into the building. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. This building does not deserve stars for the beautiful apartments - we are paying for them. The service right now deserves 0 stars. If you are older, or have limited mobility, this is the worst place to live because you cannot rely on your necessities being delivered reliably, safely, even during a pandemic. COVID-safe deliveries do not exist at LUX. Good luck tracking your packages around the property. The only good thing remaining at LUX is the maintenance team/ custodial team, Julio in particular, for their prompt and excellent service. The custodial team does a wonderful job keeping the property clean, despite the nastiness from some residents and their inability to keep tidy. read more

My husband and I recently moved to LUX after looking at several options in the area, and could not be happier with our decision. Every single interface with the Leasing Office, beginning with our first visit to view the property has been a pleasant and professional experience. We love our Leasing Agent, SARAH! She always followed up with us immediately and answered our questions promptly, either by phone or email. TARA provided a perfect assist when we needed to revise some documentation at the 11th hour. Since moving in, they have both made sure that our every need was addressed and then always followed up to make sure our expectations were met. The property is also well maintained by the cleaning staff. They are constantly wiping down surfaces and common areas and vacuuming hallways. We appreciate the measures put in place in all common areas to keep everyone safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. Sanitization stations are strategically placed throughout the property, even on elevators! The garage is well lit and routinely monitored by Security. The Maintenance Crew, (Jorge and Julio) are the best! The only pair that beats three of a kind . If you are looking for an upscale, safe, secure, and well maintained property in the UTC area, we both HIGHLY RECOMMEND LUX ! read more

I moved in a few months ago and I love everything about this place! I moved all the way from NJ and the staff welcomed me so nicely and have been super friendly. Thank you Sarah for making my new home feel a little extra special! read more

VERY Professional! From the first step in the building, we were greeted by Tara and then Sarah and both ALWAYS wore a mask! The let us do a self tour (as we desired). Both answered ALL our question (and we had a few, lol). Even when we called with follow up questions they always helped us and were eager to do whatever they could to help us think it out (between several units) and were very patient with my wife and I. The building was spotless, every time we came to view (just what we were looking for). Now, we've moved in and everything is just what was advertised and agreed upon. Still, even after moving in, both Sarah and Tara are always helpful with whatever we need. Truly first class and professional staff and building. Gratefully, Joseph & Tracey B. read more

LUX rightfully earns its name--you definitely get what you pay for. From the first floor lobby to the rooftop pool, the design and feel of this place is nothing short of luxurious. The view from my apartment (facing the white church all the way to Nordstrom's) is phenomenal--the sunsets, sunrises, and everything in between is just breathtaking. There's valet, there's a beautiful gym, study/work spaces, I feel secure, and I'm right next to my favorite mall. You really couldn't ask for more. In addition, the staff is all very friendly and helpful--I told Sarah the leasing manager that I had homework I needed to print out because we haven't bought a printer yet, and she did it for me without hesitation. 11/10, do recommend this place. read more
