Straight up jacked up my wheels (rims) Went in to get some tires installed on my truck. Got home and noticed the scratches on 2 of my wheels. To some it may not seem like much but to someone to actually takes care of there vehicles it's a big deal. So for those with nice wheels, I don't recommend it here. Took my car in for an oil change, they left my car leaking oil and did not properly screw the bottom plastic cover which caused it to drag while driving and completely ripped. I took my SUV to check for damage on one tire. Mohamed took off the wheel and inspected the tire. The noise that caused my concern was caused by a sticker that was lodged on a strut and rubbing against the inside surface of the tire. The tire was not damaged at all. Mohamed removed the sticker. He was prompt and courteous. He did not charge me for his time and labor and refused to accept any payment. I will definitely patronize this business in the future and recommend it to friends. read more

Absolute life savers. I am from San Diego and was doing a birthday road trip by myself. Of course, being so responsible (NOT) I didn't get my tires checked before embarking on a 400+ mile trip. My front driver tire blew out in Greenfield on the 101N. Super scary! While I waited for the AAA runaround, I used my noodle and hopped on Yelp to find a local AAA-certified tire shop to help because I had less than an hour until everyone closed!! In the middle of nowhere, what do you do?? I called Brian who is a lifesaver. I texted my gps coordinates since the side of the highway does not have a mailing address. They sent someone to help me put on my spare and then escort me to the tire shop. Very reasonable prices and sharp eye for identifying stuff potentially off about the car. I stayed there 30min post closing so I really really appreciate their help when the clock was ticking. read more

This is coincidentally the second time Soledad Tire has come to my rescue. Most recently I was in a borrowed RV driving down 101 and blew a tire. Called AAA and they started trying to find help for me. Called Soledad Tire to see if they had a tire. They did and put aside. Fast forward 2 hours: AAA couldn't find help for a minimum of 24 hours (wait. What???) and suggested I start calling local companies. Called Soledad Tire back asking if they had any refs for a tow and they asked where I was and told me to sit tight. Had a truck there to fix the tire ON SITE less than an hour later. Could not more highly recommend them. They were awesome and helpful and concerned for us.... and came through! read more

Undeniably some of the best service I have ever had. My truck stalled on me in the middle of the 101. Wouldn't start, I thought it was the battery. I got a tow to Soledad Tire & Wheel and sure enough I was bummed to hear that they may not have time to fix it today but that they would diagnose it. I was quoted $87 for a diagnosis. (fyi they have updated the charge to $95 but kept the $87 charge for me since it was what was quoted to me) Amazed at how the staff pulled together to push my truck into the shop and begin diagnosis. They gave my truck a quick charge and found that it was the alternator. I was quoted for the part and labor. Once I accepted the price he placed the online order for the part. Sure enough less than 10 min the part arrived. I asked if they could fix it now and was told he would check with his staff and in the system to see how long it would be to fix it. Javier told me it would take about an hour to an hour and a half to fix and that his staff would start working on it now. Real cool people, friendly and upbeat. It took the mechanics 2 hours to fix my truck. Feels good to have such an honest staff. Definitely my go to stop for repairs and general services from here on out. read more

After hitting a HUGE pothole on River Road and getting a flat I brought it to them to have it fixed. Within an hour I was back on the road. (Not Bad, Right?!) One week later I'm on the side of 101 changing the same tire. As I'm changing it I look at the back side of the rim and there is a bunch of black rubbery stuff they used to fill the gap between the rim and the tire. I had no idea that when I hit the pothole, that I bent the rim. They new the rim was bent, but did not tell me and just filled it with something. read more

I needed a brake inspection for my SUV, so since I had noticed a large "free brake inspection" sign in front of this business I took my car there. I didn't feel comfortable just getting the inspection so i asked for an oil change also. When I picked up my car I was surprised how much i was being charged for an oil change and the estimate to fix the brakes, over $700! Damn! I later checked my receipt and noticed they had charged me for the brake inspection! I went back and asked about the inspection charge, I think it was $45 bucks. This is where things got sketchy. The owner tells me he was not aware of the "free inspection" sign, wth!? It's large and in front of the business. They offered to refund me the money but I was too proud to take it. I advised them to remove the sign if it was not accurate, and they agreed. A couple days later, I was driving down Front St and noticed the sign was still posted! That pissed me off so I stopped and went inside the business. I asked for my "free brake inspection" money back and cancelled my brake service appointment. Very disappointing experience. I took my vehicle to a shop in Salinas and was charged $261 to fix my brakes! Wtf! I learned that my brakes didn't need all new parts like Soledad Tire told me. All I needed was my rotors shaved down and new pads. I was left with the question, is Soledad Tire dishonest or incompetent. I don't know but I'll never go back to find out. read more

Just a few hours after purchasing my first R.V. (used) I had a tire blow out and looked up the nearest location to get it replaced. This is the location I ended up at, and the services I received in not only replacing the blown out tire, but 2 others in the front that were in desperate need of replacing were stellar! They even put on these chrome hubcaps for me that came with the RV that the original owner bought but never put on. I wish I knew these guys were around when I lived in the area! There are so many tire shops in Monterey County and not all of them are good honest ones... these guys are without a doubt the ones you can trust! The best service possible for a last minute car crisis. I'm posting this review on behalf of my mother who had both her front tires go flat while at work this morning. Driving an infinity typically all my maintenance and tire repair is done at Infinity. However in this instance with the nearest Infinity being in San Jose and me needing the tires now I went here. Before arriving I called to confirm they had tires for my vehicle which they said they did. Upon entering I was greeted by the staff who remembered my phone call and informed me they have the tires ready. I appreciate and respect the fact they showed me my tires and explained what happened. They informed me it was my alignment but that is something only infinity can take care of. However they did quote me an oil change at half the price infinity was going to charge me so I will be getting that done here. As far as the tires they gave me an amazing deal to work with my budget. This place was an absolute dream for my current situation and I certainly recommend this place to everyone. They were courteous, professional, and sympathetic to my situation. read more

My car had a big blowout while driving through Soledad and this is the first place I found after I pulled off the freeway in a panic. Much to my luck, not only was my car treated with exceptional care and respect, they also made sure I was safe, and they did everything they could to facilitate my continued journey north. Brian explained all the issues pertaining to my car without talking down to me or making me feel silly for not knowing more. He even gave me a ride to the nearest rental agency (30 miles away) and when we found they ran out of vehicles, to the nearest train station. Soledad Tire ran full diagnostic inspections and narrowed the problem down to one of three electrical components. I have a flat tire after running over a nail and I put a spare on my car and then drove it to this place ! Well before I went in I called places in salinas and they said a patch would cost my car $10 the max $15 . The same for another place here in Soledad I believed called Ramirez tires. I couldnt find the Ramirez shop so I end up at this place . Well the guy tells me it will cost me $24 for the patch so I said no and then as I walk out he see's my car and says it will actually be $28 for no apparent reason ! So I will NOT be going to this location! I'll just get it fixed for $10 bucks instead at the place across the street ! read more

My son was driving to the Bay Area from Santa Barbara when his car broke down just outside of Soledad. AAA towed him to Soledad Tire & Wheel. Unfortunately it was closed (Sunday evening), but the next morning they were able to look at the car and replace the fuel pump quickly even though it was a no-appointment visit and they were short-staffed. When I drove back down to pick it up, the whole crew was very outgoing to make sure I was satisfied and on my way quickly. For dropping in purely out of luck, this exceeded my expectations. I was traveling from school in Northern California down to where my brother lives in San Luis Obispo County for the winter vacation. A few miles out from Soledad, I noticed the temperature gauge on my car was shooting up. Knowing the consequences of overheating, I immediately pulled over along the 101 freeway. AAA towed me to this shop, Tire & Wheel Service. I interacted with Dennis and his "best mechanic," Jaime. After paying $80 for an initial inspection, I was told that my car had a blown head gasket due to a cracked water pump, an it would require over $2k in repairs. I was skeptical because I had not driven the car at all while it was overheating, and I didn't expect there to be engine damage. Fortunately, my brother was able drive up and save me, buying me some time to figure out alternative options. Luckily, I was able to use Yelp to find great reviews for a shop in Salinas--A shop that actually works on and understands engines. I had my car towed there, and, not only did they find the car to not have a broken water pump, but they also found no indication of any type of engine damage. They did a complete inspection, and I wasn't charged a penny. Nearly half a year later and no engine repairs, and my car is still driving great. In other words, there is no way I had a blown head gasket. So, I was very happy with my decision to discontinue business here after the initial "inspection." $2k for unneccessary repairs vs. no charge for a thorough, complete inspection? I can not say enough about Soledad Tire and Wheel!!! My sister was traveling for business towing her trailer, loaded with all her inventory, and had a long drive ahead, when Her Trailer got a flat. Pulled into STW, Javier, was working, He asked what was up and said " pull up, I will look at it, fix it and have you back on the road for a SAFE trip," and that he did!!!!! Within 5 minutes, he jumped on it, had what we needed, went above and beyond, making sure we had our spare in good condition as well! Traveling down 101 through Soledad I had a problem in the front end of my pickup and pulled into Soledad to get my tires rotated. One of my front tires had worn irregular (probably due to all the pot holes I'd hit around Santa Cruz County). They got right on it. Rotated my tires and had me on my way in 20 minutes. When I got ready to pay they said "don't worry about it, just keep us in mind". Great service. read more

On my way from southern, ca to northern, ca I ran over an object in the road that gave me and 5 other cars two flat tires. Once I got towed to this tire repair shop, they handled everything quickly and efficiently showing me what happened and putting on new tires so quick I barely lost any time on the road!
