I started seeing Josh to help me rehab a shoulder injury from a lifetime of playing baseball. At the same time, I had back and leg problems from running 15 miles a week. I started with Josh @ Solid Fitness about 3 months ago. I was trying to get back on track from two knee surgeries within 10 months of each other. My knees were weak, unstable, and sore. I had gained weight and was struggling finding exercises that would help me recover and be healthier. I searched "injury rehabilitation personal trainer" on the web and Josh fit the description. First visit, Josh listened to my concerns regarding the stability of my knees and did an in-depth evaluation, identifying my capabilities. He implemented 'corrective exercises' in addition to a regular training session. Within 3 months, my knees are: bending straight, are noticeably stronger, and they no longer ache when I jump, run, squat, etc. My percentage of body fat has decreased and overall, I feel great! I started working with Josh a couple of months ago in an effort to back in shape after having my second baby (and second Cesarean). With two little ones at home, it's hard to find time to get to the gym. Josh is very flexible and willing to meet me at the crack of dawn. He is a great motivator and is very focused on my overall success. I have worked with trainers before, and the initial assessment he gave me was the most thorough one I've ever experienced. It is very apparent that he is really invested in his clients' success. He is helping me to increase my strength and flexibility and tailors the workouts to my skill level (increasing the difficulty over time). I am always "just the right amount" of sore after our sessions. I've been working out with Josh for quite a while now and he's amazing! He's nothing like the big box gym trainers and truly cares about each of his clients. He's super motivational but isn't the scary "get in your face" type trainer that I've always feared. I also like that I feel I can always email or call him and he will get back to me quickly with a response to any question (no matter how silly I think it is)! I'm sad the other yelper posted what she did. Since his studio is in a corporate office building (another perk because you aren't training in front of a bunch of meat heads) they lock the front doors if its early morning or later in the evening. My guess is that's what happened and she didn't know to walk around to the back entrance where his studio is... So sad if she misses the opportunity to train with Josh! read more

I've been working out weekly with Josh for over 5 years now, and it's been an exceptional experience. I'm 48 and am pretty active when it comes to mountain sports and outdoor activities, but I have a desk job and really needed guidance around holistic full-body workouts to increase strength and flexibility. Josh is fantastic all the way around, and where he really excels is how he crafts a workout routine for more complicated health situations- he can modify a workout on the fly if I'm dealing with an injury or something like lower back pain. I have been working with Josh weekly for over four months. He is a wonderful trainer, and I have made excellent progress, through his guidance. I mostly appreciate that he really determines the exercises that are best for YOUR body and your goals. He also does a lot of corrective work. I have not hurt myself once under Josh's direction (and I have problems with hips, back, shoulders, etc.), and I have definitely become stronger, leaner, and more fit. Josh and Mark were great to work with! Josh provided nutritional advice which I have incorporated into my diet and as a result I lost almost 20 pounds and have maintained my weight for over a year. My husband has been going to Mark for fitness training for over 4 months now. I just started training with Mark, along with my husband, at the beginning of January. Josh is the best! I'm new to personal training and just really want to work on losing weight and getting toned. Josh has been so easy and fun to work with. It's a great studio with excellent trainers. I've always been active and pretty disciplined; working out on my own for the past 35 years. But what I've learned from Josh has completely changed my approach to exercise. It's NEVER easy or routine, but it works. I've been working out at Solid Fitness with Roxy for the past few months. I do the group class three days a week during my lunch break with a couple buddies at work since our offices are in the same building. Roxy combines several different styles of training that keeps us from hitting plateaus but at the same time pushes us every workout.
