Just got done with a workout with Alex and it was amazing!! It was the absolute best way to wake up. I was given plenty of opportunities to modify my workouts because of my asthma, so I was able to keep up with all the guys! Everyone was beyond welcoming and happy to be there. We worked out on the beach and saw the sunrise as we were doing some squats in the sand. It was not only a awesome workout, but set a great tone for my day. Thanks Alex!! read more

Alex helped me hit a running target I thought would take me 3 times as long as it did. The program he created was challenging but fun and he was fantastic at adapting it to work for me. I'm usually reluctant to do speed work / intervals / strength training but the way he tailored the days made it all feel very enjoyable and never a chore. read more

Best workout in SF! Revision has been my go-to workout for several years now. In fact, I've been working out with Alex for over 8 years! There's something about being outside early in the morning and watching the sunrise over the city that really gets you energized for the day. Not to mention that Alex and Whitney will get you into great shape in no time, and your fellow workout buddies provide support, encouragement, and much needed laughter. Alex is the best. He design fun + tough workouts that leave me smiling and sore. He is positive, fun, and has a zenful presence. I actually enjoy waking up early to go sweat with him and our group because being outside for a great workout just can't be beat. I know Alex through running and he suggested I switch up the running routine and give his class a shot. I thought I was in fairly good shape, but he showed me just how out of shape a good in shape runner can be. Some of the muscles he had us work on I didn't know I had! Everything he did was well explained, fun, and inventive. The class had a great camaraderie aspect which made it all the more fun! Alex's main goal is to inspire you to be the best you, which varies from person to person. His laid back helpful style allows your best to shine through constantly changing exercises and a fun environment. This is an excellent class -- Alex and Whitney do a terrific job keeping it fresh and challenging. Every day is something new and it's always fun. It is very challenging but I've always felt comfortable going at my own pace and Alex is a great coach. I have developed a healthy addiction to Revision Athletics and my two great trainers, Alex and Whitney. I love this class because: 1. It is a one hour, early morning outdoor exercise class, designed to reach each individual's potential in strength, endurance, balance and agility, while in constant motion. 2. It is outside at one of San Francisco's most beautiful spots, Aquatic Park, by the Bay and its surrounding hills with stunning sunrises. 3. Alex and Whitney always give me a sense that I can be as fit as I want to be. Left to my own devices, I would probably stay an extra hour in bed and never push myself. 4. I fit right in with 25-45 year olds, even though I am a little older! 5. They have a gentle way of leading and are so good at knowing our limits and potential.. 6. They always prioritize good form, and each workout is fun and unique. 7. I started taking Alex's classes at Lyon Street stairs on Tuesday/Thursday's at 6pm to change my hum-ho classpass routine and have been consistently impressed (and worked)! I personally find the classes to be one of the toughest around but the best thing about his classes is he pushes individually - this class is great for all fitness levels! You are a fitness beast - he will increase your weight/distance, just starting or injured - he will modify. Alex is great trainer and I would highly suggest his classes to anyone! read more

I dropped in Alex's class last Friday to try to shake up my fitness routine and it was the best decision I made all week! Not only did have a blast bear crawling in the sand and laughing at myself but was I (pleasantly) sore for days. Feel the burn so good. My husband and I have been working out with Alex for a few years and love his classes. There is always something different and you are always pushed. He's great at tailoring the class to individuals and keeps a close eye on your form which is very helpful. Alex is one of the best trainers I've come across in SF, period. His knowledge of running mechanics is extensive and I was really impressed by his ability to explain concepts in a way that's easy to understand (and apply!). He was great at helping me work on correcting my running form to avoid pain and injury - it was literally like a light bulb went off! I've continued to go to his morning workout classes not only because he's so great, but working out with a fun group of people in the beautiful outdoors seriously beats the gym! It's one of the best workouts I've had (and I'm a personal trainer!). Whitney is also an excellent trainer, and both Alex and Whitney are adept at modifying things to fit all levels of fitness. I have never worked out with such a diverse, supportive group of people, led by 2 awesome trainers (Whitney and Alex). They do a fantastic job of making clients from all levels of fitness (from triathletes to people who have never run a mile!) feel comfortable, supported, and challenged. I have so much fun in their morning boot camps - I never knew I had the ability to consistently wake up early for anything before. I'm really enjoying the whole experience of being part of Revision Athletics, I've improved my fitness levels (and am continuing to do so as they always mix things up!), and I'm making some friends along the way! I'm a healthcare professional & I really appreciate both Alex & Whitney's check-ins about how everyone is feeling (physically and mentally) at the start of class. Once during warm up/check in I mentioned that my hip flexors were pretty tight & Alex incorporated lots of hip flexor stretches into class that day & even took the time to teach me how to run slightly differently so I was less likely to get a hip flexor injury! His advice is always spot on! It's nice to work out with talented trainers who know how to keep you injury free, or work around an injury you're healing from. I would recommend Revision to people of all fitness levels - you're in great hands with Alex & Whitney & working out to amazing views & sunrise over SF doesn't hurt either!
