I came across Stone Solid Paving from an ad on Facebook on a Saturday. They offered a free price quote. I reached out to request a free price quote and that day John, the owner, contacted me to set up a time to come by for a free price quote. We agreed the next day and John came to my house, punctual, on time, and discussed what I wanted done. My wife and I were planning on not getting the work done maybe for a few months but John came in with an amazing price. I know it was an amazing price because I had a price quote done three years prior for the same work and John came in at about the same, keep in mind prices of material and labor skyrocketed since then. I was skeptical at first of the price and was curious of the quality of work. John did not hesitate and pulled out his phone and showed many pictures of his work, and visiting his Facebook business page I saw even more. I could tell he took a great amount of pride in his work, and in every picture the work was amazing. My wife and I couldn't say no so I told John let's get this started. I asked when he could start, his reply: "tomorrow". We decided on the pavers and said see you tomorrow. That Monday they showed up on time and had everything to begin the work. By Wednesday the patio was done, and only because there was a day that it rained and weather conditions weren't ideal to work, otherwise it would have been done Tuesday. While they were doing the job I asked John about running conduit because my plan is to put up a pavilion with electric in the future. John understood and got the conduit and was able to run it under the side patio concrete for me. John did not charge me for this. John also advised that my driveway was in need of repair and one spot was pooling water due to the wear of pulling in and out every day. He offered to fix it for free temporarily (cold patch). While at the house I also got a price quote to do my driveway (paver apron, the rest asphalt). He came in at another great price however I could not take him up on the offer due to finances and a family situation currently. He advised me he will hold the price until I am ready. I highly recommend Stone Solid Paving, John takes a great amount of pride in his work and he works extra hard to go above and beyond to be sure the customer is happy with the work. They are punctual, the prices are very fair, and the work was outstanding. I'd be happy to have anyone on the fence about hiring them to answer any questions, provide pictures, or even come to my house to check out his work. read more

You get what you pay for. I should've known better- shoddy half assed job that deteriorated quickly (driveway is only 2 years old), and zero response from John when I call or text. I'll assume I'm not getting my 7 free seal coatings every 18 months... read more

Don't use this company. I've tried to get in touch with this company multiple times. I have a 10 year warranty apparently that was phony. They just take your money and walk away. They never come back to fix anything. My driveway was supposed to be power washed and sealed this year after a year. My driveway was done March 26, 2024. This company comes up with nothing but excuses do not. I repeat. Do not use this company. They will take your money and run. read more

November 1, 2023 Note Texted to Solid Stone Paving Owner, John O''Brien We believe you and your company scammed us and continues to scam us three months after we paid you $4,800 to dig up our old asphalt driveway and install a new one. Twenty days after your installation, your asphalt driveway is degrading. In three different areas, black spots had stones removed, leaving jagged holes and soft tar spots. When we informed you, you told us not to worry about it. Now on 11/1/23 there is another area that is losing stones and leaving the same jagged gap. Also, back on July 28th, 2023, the day of completion (with your work done on 7/27 & 7/28), you, and/or your crew, left pieces of our old driveway buried in the ground on our property. When we asked you about it afterward upon our discovery, you refused to provide an explanation. On the final day, you, or your crew, also left what appeared to be a 100-lb piece of driveway debris behind. We had to beg you to remove that 100-lb debris. Your crew could not speak English. So we have asked you in person and in writing to honor your 45-day-money-back guarantee that was shown on your website. Several times you agreed to refund us $4,800. You have agreed to our request verbally and twice in writing. We have the written proof of both of your agreements. You haven't followed through and honored your agreement. Also in the three months since we have made others aware on social media, you advertised your business under several 'different business names' that prospective customers should be aware of. You advertise your company by several different names: (1) Solid Stone Paving & Masonry (2) Professional Paving & Masonry and (3) Solid Stone Paving Perhaps your company Solid Stone Paving & Masonry is attempting to hide the fact you scammed us with poor workmanship, poor cleanup and sabotage and a refusal to honor your 45-day-money-back guarantee. Today 11/1/23 you left a phony note on your Facebook business page (called Solid Stone Paving), that's totally inaccurate then you blocked us from responding to you. Your note read as following: "Theresa Quinn hi dear I rang you numerous times and you don't answer I have offered to replace your driveway and you told not to come around your house if you to call me and met to discuss this matter" Here's the reality: You called us once today and left no message. We don't have an issue with you coming to our house. We are still requesting a refund, as you promised, and we propose that you leave us the refund in our mailbox. We will then give you the note you requested, in the mailbox. If you are in agreement, send us a text message as to when you plan to leave your refund check in our mailbox. We will then leave your requested note and text you to let you know the note is in our mailbox. Thank you. Ps: Apparently your promises to meet your money-back-guarantee are deceptive. We spoke with you later today by phone, since you wouldn't answer our text, and you argued with us once again and would not honor your verbal and written promises to refund our $4,800. Buyer beware! John knocked on our door and since our neighbor was doing their driveway through him, it was a good idea to do ours as well. What clinched it was the little extras which HE WROTE ON THE CONTRACT eg polysand our walkway in the front, aligning the 3'x2' pavers by our deck etc. He finished the driveway, which was average, and when I called and texted him at least 7x, patiently and trying to be understanding of his busy schedule, he would respond and tell me that he will drop by to do the job. Ten months later, I haven't heard from him. As I now read the contract, he even wrote "free sealcoating every 18 months". He will promise you the world and won't deliver. My advise is: please spare yourself the headache and use someone else. read more
