My daughter has been going here for over a year and has progressed so much! It's a great confidence-booster and I love that she is learning ways to defend herself, discipline, and working with others. She goes 3x a week and always has fun! The coaches are great and help motivate the kids.

Our 13 year old son has been training here close to 2 years and 6 year old son about 6 months. They have gained so much confidence, respect and discipline. Coach Fernando who leads the Shark Youth is awesome with the kids and highly regarded by my 13 year old. Kiko who leads the Guppies Youth has my utmost respect, not only does he have patience, but still hold the kids accountable for doing their part. Coach Kirby who leads the Sharks Youth on Saturdays is also awesome and has his way of teaching which my 13 year old loves. To sum it up I highly recommend this place and just love the community they've built.

Solidarity Jiu Jitsu is a premiere academy for martial arts located in South San Jose. I've had the pleasure of training under the coaches at affiliated gyms and open mats. Coach Kiko, Coach Fernando, and Coach Mike all care very much about their students and are well reputed in the local martial arts community. Recently I had the honor of trying their evening gi classes. Like most Jiujitsu classes you'll start with warm ups to ready your body for drilling specific moves and techniques. This can range from grip fighting, take downs, and self defense, to attacks, sweeps, positioning, and escapes when the fight hits the ground. After working on the moves, you will get a chance to apply them in a live sparring setting under the supervision and guidance of the instructors. With each training session you'll build confidence, work on physical fitness, and acquire technical fighting skills you can apply in competition or in self defense settings. Each instructor brings their expertise when helping students and always offer their knowledge in a patient and effective manner. As a Caio Terra affiliate, the gym offers students the chance to learn champion level Jiujitsu techniques, and instructors will lead students through the Caio Terra BJJ curriculum. The facility itself is brand new, with upgrades and renovations all managed and handled by the instructors themselves, at the highest level of workmanship. Solidarity Jiu Jitsu also offers plenty of merch and BJJ gi / no-gi options for those who join the team. Currently they have excellent membership deals, and if you're looking to train in one of the best facilities with top tier instructors, wait no longer: this is definitely the gym for you. Be on the look out for the rise up of this amazing academy, and check them out on social media too. OSSU!

Solidarity Jiu Jitsu provides a great environment to learn Jiu Jitsu for everyone! My two kids attend the youth classes on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and I train in the adults fundamentals class. From beginners to long time practitioners, you will find that you will learn something to sharpen your jiu jitsu game in every class. The coaches are top notch and teach from a tried and true curriculum while keeping the class fun. They emphasize being great training partners to one another on and off the mats and the facilities are kept clean. That is a big plus! Don't forget to check out Koffee Krew every Sunday morning!

Great vibe and energy in the room. I've been training here for over a year and it's fulfilling to see the culture at Solidarity truly embody the name. There's a sense of everyone working together to improve themselves both individually and collectively. From the early morning classes to night time classes, I'm extremely happy to train here.

Some Sunday morning open mat action! Plenty of mat space as you can see haha.

My 20-year-old daughter and I train here together, and that alone says a lot about the kind of environment this academy provides. From day one, we both felt welcomed. The atmosphere is respectful, positive, and motivating. It doesn't matter if you're a beginner or experienced--everyone is treated like part of the team. As a father, it means a lot to train in a place where I know my daughter is in a safe, supportive, and empowering environment. Head Instructor Leo is the foundation of everything great about this academy. His knowledge of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is incredibly high level, but what stands out most is how he teaches. He has the ability to break down complex techniques into simple, understandable steps, making it easier for both me and my daughter to learn and improve. He emphasizes not just technique, but discipline, respect, and real-life application. You can tell he genuinely cares about every student's growth, both on and off the mats. Coach David brings a powerful energy to every class. He's intense in the best way--pushing you to give your best while still making sure you're learning correctly. His attention to detail is incredible, and he's always there to make adjustments that take your skills to the next level. Training with him keeps you sharp, focused, and constantly improving. Coach Caden is someone who really connects with students, especially when it comes to building confidence. He's patient, approachable, and explains techniques in a way that truly clicks. My daughter, in particular, has benefited from his coaching style--he creates an environment where you feel comfortable asking questions and pushing yourself without pressure. Training here has been an amazing experience for both of us. The classes are structured, challenging, and rewarding. Whether it's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or kickboxing, every session builds not just physical strength, but mental toughness and confidence. What really makes this place special is the community. It's rare to find a gym where people genuinely support each other the way they do here. Everyone is respectful, helpful, and motivated to grow together. It's not just a gym--it's a team, and it feels like a second family. The facility is clean, organized, and professional. Everything runs smoothly, and you can see the pride they take in maintaining a high standard. Being able to train alongside my daughter in such a positive and high-level environment is something I truly value. Gloglo Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Kickboxing Academy has given us more than just training--it's given us a shared experience, growth, and lasting memories. I highly recommend this academy to anyone, whether you're coming in alone or with family. You won't regret it. -- Juan. D

The academy is really the cleanest, nicest academy I've ever trained in. Caio even put ergonomic chairs and desks for us to study and places for families to sit. He cares about the environment very much. He even had the team create a wall after a truck drove into the academy, just to make sure that nobody missed training, which is so important for our mental and physical health. Within minutes, it was clear the kids class was made up almost entirely of much younger, much smaller beginners. That's not a criticism--it's just not an appropriate training environment for an older, experienced kid who needs the right partners to develop safely. I asked if there were other classes or days with a different mix. I was told this was essentially it. So I politely said it wasn't the right fit and thanked them for their time. That should have been the end of the interaction. Instead, Mr. Batata himself--not just a coach, but the owner--became immediately confrontational in tone, stepped into my personal space, and began making assumptions about why we were considering switching gyms, as if we were doing something wrong by even looking. He then launched into how this "isn't just a business," implying I should somehow structure my life around loyalty to a gym--despite the fact that we were there for the first time and simply trying to make the best decision for my son. It was unreasonable and completely out of line. I calmly explained that we take this very seriously and that changing gyms is a big decision. That didn't matter--he dismissed it and continued with an aggressive, condescending tone. As I was leaving with my son, he kept talking at me, and another instructor joined in. At that point, it crossed from uncomfortable into completely unprofessional. No parent should have to walk their child out of a business while being talked at for simply saying "this isn't the right fit." The entire interaction left both me and my son feeling unsettled and, honestly, a bit icky. That's not something I've ever experienced walking into a jiu-jitsu academy before. This wasn't a misunderstanding. This was the owner reacting poorly to a polite "no," and doing so in front of a child. If this is the tone set at the top, it raises serious concerns about the culture and judgment being modeled in that gym. We walked in open-minded. We walked out uncomfortable. There are plenty of gyms that know how to treat people with basic respect. This is not one of them. Avoid
