Recently attended a class with a friend to find out what it's all about. Essentially it's an ab focused class with a reformer, but they get very particular about insisting that it is not a Pilates class.
Location is very modern and smells nice, conveniently located at Uncommons right by the first parking garage. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and made an effort to help with form and equipment adjustments throughout the class.
Unfortunately the mic/speaker settings made it difficult to understand what was being said - almost muffled? It was loud enough but words ran together, so I was mostly looking at the people on either side of me to copy. At times there were counts but neither person was moving the same way, so it didn't feel like an effective workout because I didn't understand what I was supposed to be doing - that said, my core is sore two days later, so I liken it more to a Barre workout, where you're using small stability muscles even if you're not able to do the larger movements.
I may pick up another class here or there with friends but I'm not in a rush to do so. Note that once you sign up for emails, they send way too many - I've received 13 in less than a month, they seem to come out automatically every two days. I understand wanting to stay on people's radar but this is overwhelming. read more
