An absolute phenomenal campground nestled in the woods so close to Table Rock. We were greeted by the owner immediately upon our arrival and he meticulously helped us maneuver into our side providing spot on side to side leveling. He explained everything to us and after setup we went to the main office to check in. We were provided a great description of the area and they also have a well stocked camp store. Our family rented two cabins while we brought our RV. The cabins were immaculate and very cool! Overall this was a fantastic trip and we will certainly make it an annual experience. read more

So this is the first time I've found myself hesitating to write a review. You ever find something special, and you think for a moment I wish I could keep this to myself, but it'd feel wrong to not share. Well here's that moment. Stay at Solitude Pointe and you will pleasantly surprised as how much you want to tell everyone and yet keep it to yourself. From the moment we were in town, we received a pleasant text message from the owner, that the cabin was ready for us and to come on in! We left lunch at the Opry up the road and headed back to the location and upon pulling in even one week past peak color and this place is still picture perfect! The roads through the campground are paved and smooth, directions easy to follow. The cabins are labeled and easy legible by names on front. Upon opening the door to the cabin you are greeted by a lovely screened in porch with Adirondack chairs and a lovely hot tub(yes screaming my name and clean and ready to go) Now opening the door to the cabin interior was equally pleasing to the eyes, such perfect use of space and perfect size for two people! The furnishings were ample and comfortable and they did not miss a beat with the things I would need. Please see shared photos, this place is sooooooo perfect in every letter of the word. Also a nice note with a chonky book of things to do/eat/see local and further away in each direction. We did not get a chance to stop at the store but I wish we had. So if you are looking for peace and quiet, then your look is over. read more

The owners at Solitude Pointe are beyond amazing! We had a back-in site, and the father-son duo helped guide us into the spot. Other campgrounds will point out your spot and then drive away, but how many actually volunteer to help you back into a tricky spot? It was one of those slick maneuvers where you have to jackknife the trailer into the spot due to the amount of trees between spaces. These guys made a typically stressful parking job feel like a piece of pie. I was so thankful to them! We were backed in perfectly in one try. I know I've spent a lot of time talking about parking, but anyone who has set up a camper knows this is the most stressful part of the camping experience. So thank you for saving us from that ordeal. And to those reading this review, if you are a newbie who only does pull-thrus, this is the perfect campground to try a back-in spot. The campground itself is very private, you have trees between you and your neighbors. You feel more like you're camping in the woods, not with a bunch of people walking past your campsite constantly. There are two bathroom/showers near the office at the top of the hill. They are unisex and you can lock yourself in, so it feels more like a private bathroom in a house, rather than a public restroom. Amy, one of the owners, was so helpful at check-in. She recommended local attractions and let me know that every Saturday night they do a community campfire as well as a community service on Sundays with complimentary coffee/muffins. We were not able to make either, but it's nice that they have optional weekly events for people to meet one another. There's a gift shop with t-shirts and some RV necessities, as well as a small library. The office also has a huge porch where you can hang out and read or work. If you have kids, there's a playground for them. This is a family-run campground and you can tell they want their guests to enjoy their stays. Solitude is an extremely well kept, cleaned, and landscaped campground in the South Carolina mountains. It is small and offers sites on a little stream in the woods. Although you are close to neighbors there are bushes and trees between sites. Close by is access to the Saluda River and the campground duck, Lucy. They have a nice playground and basketball court for kids. Very nearby are fantastic hiking opportunities with gorgeous overlooks to waterfalls or Blue Ridge Mountains. It's expensive but you get an excellent camp site. I recommend Solitude! read more

Wow! What a blessing to find this place of true solitude. We were looking for a nice, quiet place to enjoy a few days of rest over our Christmas week break and Solitude Pointe offered everything we needed and more. The added hot tub helped soothe our aching backs after having just completed a year-end inventory at our store. We rented the Mountain cabin and it was absolutely perfect. Couldn't ask for a cleaner or friendlier experience from this family-owned park. We have searched high and low for a place just like this and now that we've found it, we will most definitely be returning whenever we need a few days of retreat! read more

We stayed one night and were impressed with this place. Very clean, quiet and well maintained. It's a relatively small campground with paved, level sites and a buffer of trees between lots for privacy. We didn't stay long enough to explore much but we saw a nice playground for kids, a community area around a nice fire pit, showers, propane refills, canoe rentals and hiking trails. At our campsite, when we stepped out of the camper, we saw nothing but forest with a sharp drop off to a pretty little stream below. The owners were very nice and helpful. I can not think of a reason why anyone would not enjoy this campground. Well, if you don't like quiet and you miss the noise of the interstate, you probably won't like this place. Otherwise, try it, you'll like it. We will stop here again anytime our travels bring us in the area. read more

Stayed here 3 nights in the Mountain cabin with my 14 year old son and his friend. Place was impeccably clean and had everything in the kitchen we needed to make of our meals. We paid extra for use of the hot tub and it was worth every cent. The best two-person hot tub I've ever used. What we liked best about Solitude Point was small community feel (only 8 cabins I think and no more than 20 RV sights). Everyone was friendly and you really got to relax without the crowds. Plus, it was so easy to get to great hiking spots and paddle boarding - Lake Joseccee being the best but get there early. Rodney and Amy are the owners and along with their two children run a very nice resort. Prices reasonable too. read more

My family and I recently experienced a small house fire. We were in need of a place to stay, as our home was no longer inhabitable in its present condition. The people at Solitude Pointe gave us a small discount for a 5 night stay. The cabin was clean and fully equipped with everything one might need. They thought of every kitchen utinsel! The facility had a nice playground area and was overall quiet and peaceful. We were not sure if the common room in the lodge was available to use, as it was not offered. If you are looking for a very quiet, family oriented place to stay during your visit to this area, you may want to consider Solitude Pointe. The only negative aspect of my visit was that they complained that our toddler spilled juice on one of the bath towels. It seemed to be a big issue that we left a soiled piece of laundry?!? (We did pay $5 replace it!) Overall, we had a nice experience at this facility. read more

Terrible customer service! Black Ants and Shower Leaks. We stayed in a cabin. The upstairs bed was thin and very uncomfortable. There were black ants throughout the cabin and the shower leaked into the floor. Also, at the last minute I took my 2 teenage children whose father had other plans for the weekend. When they found out that there were 2 other kids with me - they kept saying on Sat afternoon in the lodge that "it was fine" but waited til I left to charge an unauthorized $66. I called Amy to discuss since it was very tricky the way it was handled and she hung up on me. Her husband, Rodney, left me a message that he was going to have me arrested (for what, I have no idea) and that I had broken up their family?!?!?! He genuinely wanted me to believe that my $66 charge had something to do with their family dynamics. A little (a lot) intense for a customer service issue. Also, can't even imagine why he would threaten me as I didn't come close to breaking the law but I only wanted to discuss why they didnt approach me but rather waited to place an unauthorized charge on my card. He also emailed me that his wife left the family because of me because I complained about the charge. I never met Rodney and spent 10 mins talking to Amy at check-in. They wait until you leave to place charges and allegations against you personally. Again, they have no professional or customer service skills. I do not recommend. read more

Great Little campground! My family and I love Solitude Pointe. We don't live far from several great campgrounds but this is our favorite by far. The owners are the best and make you feel at home. Very very clean grounds and office, the office will have any small camping items you may need including movie rentals. Getting into your sight looks tight but I promise if you will listen to Rodney(owner) who will meet you upon arrival, you will get into it no problem. Full hook ups including sewer, directv, water, 30/50 amps, picnic tables. Very clean private bathhouse/washer/dryers located near the office and are cheap to use. This campground is quiet but kids are welcome, they have a small playground, basketball, ping pong and horseshoes, also fishing or kayak rentals on the Saluda river located at the entrance of the campground. I can't say enough of how awesome this place is if you are looking to relax and take in true Solitude! read more

Been staying here for about 15 years. Amy & Rodney are amazing! If you are looking for solitude this place is on point. Smoke free and pet free cabins. Close to so many attractions we still haven't seen them all. read more
