I don't write many reviews but I was blown away by the service I received from Solo. I had bought a rebuilt computer several years back from them for my 1996 Dodge Ram van after another had failed from another rebuild company; there may be something in my van causing the failures but I was unable to find it. In any case, Alex at Solo actually reminded me they have a lifetime warranty when I asked about another replacement! Who does that anymore! ? He had me send it in and was able to replace an entire circuut board, as opposed to just soldering in a few new parts. He was really helpful and answered all my questions patiently. I replaced the PCM and its running great so far. So worth knowing who is honest and dependable in the auto repair biz...well, any biz for that matter. Highly recommended! read more

1998 Jeep Wrangler with bad PCM showing codes for 02 sensor. 02 sensor & loom diagnosed as good by dealer. Vehicles runs. Solo Auto supplied three replacement PCM. Non worked and were returned. On a cold engine the 1st showed codes for high battery temp, air intake temp high voltage, engonee coolant temp and throttle position sensor. The 2nd showed no codes, engine would start then tach and other meters would drop out and engine would stall. The third showed no codes - engine would not start. At each replacement the original PCM was re-installed and the vehicles operates. Through this process Solo did not respond to emails and offered no explanation for the defective units. Upon return of 3rd unit I made repeated inquiries for a refund. I got no response. When I called I was told the "girl" was out until 1PM. They promised a return phone call providing status of refund. They did not call. I opened a claim with PayPay. They don't have a leg to stand on and should have just refunded the money. Horrible customer service and obviously poor workmanship. read more

I had ordered a computer for my 2007 PT Cruiser online (my first mistake) and when I installed it my speedometer stopped working and the Check Engine Light came on. Long story short, I had a hunch the computer I received from North Carolina was bad. Rather than dealing with sending the computer back to NC, because I needed to get my car fixed, I found Solo Auto Electronics via a Google search. The company is close to where I live so I wanted to give them a try as my car was shot with the computer I had. I brought the computer I received from NC to them and they were able to determine I had received an improperly programmed computer and they were able to program another one for me while I waited. I installed their computer into my car and the Check Engine Light was no longer on and the speedometer works again. The computer I received from Solo was an original Chrysler computer - still had the stickers on it whereas the other computer I received from NC was spray painted black. I was in need for a replacement PCM for my 1998 Dodge RAM. Called the local parts store and their prices varies from $250 - $280 with a 1 year warranty. Then searched online and found many places. Also found that many of the online suppliers have a bad BBB rating. Solo's BBB rating is A+ They sold me a unit for $169 for the type PCM I needed. With a lifetime warranty for as long as I own the vehicle. The shipping was included in the price and the shipping cost of returning your old unit was also included. The PCM came pre-programed for my vehicle with the correct VIN and Milage. Installation took about 15 minutes. The truck started right away and ran great. Took a 30 mile test drive with no problems. The only comment I have is that the sales guy was a little in a hurry. This didn't make me feel a 100% comfortable right away but I'm still glad I ordered from them. You should make sure your PCM is the problem before you replace it. I spend many hours trouble shooting before I ordered the PCM. Mine had a bad internal 5Volt power supply. read more

Replaced the computer for my 2002 dodge dakota with a 4.7. I was skeptical from the reviews I read. My experience with the service was great. Answered all my questions about their company, product, repairs, and service they provide. Computer showed up faster that expected. Plugged it in and the truck fired up with no problems and is running great. Returned the core with the pre-printed shipping label and put it in the provided ups shipping package. Ordered a PCM from Solo. We had to return 4 of them and I finely got one that worked, but only for a month, then the car wouldn't start again. I have emailed them 4 times and they will not email me back, to see if we can get the problem resolved. Not sure if it is a scam or not, or just bad business practices. I have ordered one from another company to see if this one will work. They now are in procession of my original PCM and the only one that would allow my car to drive. I was screwed out of 200.00. Bad service !!! Bad workmanship!! i bought a computer from solo and delt with alex and the first computer they sent me had a misfire on cylinder # 3 i sent the computer back and didn't get a response until i called a week later wondering why it hasn't shown up yet, when i did call they didn't know who i was or where my computer was because alex was not there. i called the next day alex said that he had an emergency and that he would next day the computer. Well the next day came i received the computer only to find that now it has a cyl # 4 misfire i thought to myself that is too much of a coincidence , i call alex to let him know and he insisted that he computer was fine and that i had a short in my harness, maybe if i didn't know about cars i would believe him unfortunately for him i own a 6 auto repair shops and have over 20 years of automotive experience. once i felt he wasn't gonna help me i ordered a computer from auto zone and installed it, all misfires have gone away as well as the check engine light. Alex said he personally fixed my computer so i guess you gotta check your work alex !! anyways i just wanted everyone to know not to take your computer or anything you have to solo electronics they are a waste of time and money !!! be care full read more
