I had to get my Karcher power washer repaired. This shop was close to home I like the fact that it's an independent little local shop. Service was fantastic my repair only cost $20. Did it for me on the spot. That's great service. Both mechanics were nice and friendly happy to do the work. I'm happy to support local business. read more

WARNING - DO NOT USE SOLO SMALL MOTORS!! I haven't been this upset about a business in quite some time - no not even with a car dealership! I dropped off my snowblower for an estimate on a new auger belt and a tune-up at Solo Small Motors on October 17th. I waited until October 30th and still hadn't heard anything back from them. I thought, "How long does it take ju st to get an estimate? Maybe they lost my number, I'll give them a call." Here comes frustration #1...the receptionist informs me now that they are running about 2-1/2 weeks behind schedule. Shouldn't you have told me that when I was dropping it off for an estimate perhaps? She says that she will get back to me the following week. The following week comes and goes with no call. Finally, on Monday November 10th - just 23 short days after dropping my snowblower off for an estimate, the call comes. I am told that the price for a new belt and a tune-up would be $192.50!! I thought I had a bad connection on my cell phone. "Sorry...what was that amount?", I asked. "$192.50", came the unbelievable reply. "How much just for the belt then?", I found myself saying. "$20.00", she said. "Okay, just do the belt for me then please." So today, I go to Solo Small Motors to pick up my snowblower. I go to the front reception desk, whereupon I am informed that I owe them "$92.60"!!! "Excuse me? $92.60 for a new auger belt?!?!?" "You told me it would be $20.00 on the phone when I spoke to you?" "Yes, $20.00 for the belt but he's not going to put it on for free", came the sarcastic reply. So, trying to contain myself from boiling over as I am not normally that type of person, I tell her that when someone asks you for an estimate on how much something is going to be, they usually intend for you to tell them a final price that they will be paying, not the price of just the part!" What choice did I have really though? As upset and disgusted as I was and am with Solo and the way they have handled this entire situation, I had to pay it to get my snowblower back before the snow flies - and they knew that and they don't seem to care. There was an air of mockery and disdain shown by everyone there. Like they had got another poor sucker! I'm telling you, DO NOT GO HERE!! In my opinion, it is bordering on criminal! First they don't tell you it's going to be almost 3 weeks to get an estimate - because they know that most people would likely go elsewhere should they have this information up front. Second, and the worst of all really, they don't give you a true estimate for the work and then hold your stuff captive until you pay an exorbinant charge for the work done in order to get it back! I mean really, $62.00 to put a belt on a snowblower? C'mon!! I am actively posting reviews against this company and using my connections and resources to inform as many people as I can to never go here and deal with these people. It's a bad business move on their part to treat people this way as they are going to lose much more business than they gained with this little charade. I recently required some repairs and tune-up work on my 9 year old Toro Snow blower. The folks at Solo completed all the work in 1 week - immediately after our first big snow fall! The machine is like new again! In addition, I can tell the work performed was done with detail right down to using antisieze on all fasteners! The replaced parts were available for my inspection and they even loaded the machine in my truck for me! I will definitely recommend this business to friends and neighbours! read more
