Thank you to the Brentwood team for always being genuine and kind. You make my salon experience a relaxing one. I'm so happy that you are in my neighborhood. I've been going to Element Salon, Brentwood, for five and a half years and can't say enough about the fantastic stylists, management, and staff. All are professional & so knowledgeable in the products and services they provide. I'm greeted at the door every week with a friendly smile, always taking care of my needs. Let me tell you about my stylist, Charlotte! She has incredible blow-drying techniques, especially when working with my long, curly hair, leaving it looking straight and silky smooth. I go once a week for a shampoo blowout since I have a disability that makes it hard to wash and blow-dry my hair. I love, love balayage over foils! Josh is a master at applying color; he always makes my hair look so natural and beautiful! I've seen the work he's done on his other clients who want fun colors in their hair. Every time he's finished, the cut and coloring always look amazing! If you want purple, green, or even blue, you will be very happy with Josh's results. Element uses the best quality products of the L'Oreal line, Kerastase & Shu Uemura, which I've used in my hair for 14 years. When Charlotte is finished, there's so much shine that it lasts me until the next week. When L'Oréal discontinued the permanent color used for my base, Charlotte and Josh put their heads together and devised a formula that's a perfect replacement. It turned out looking amazing! Sure enough, I got the call and not only was it kind that she did call me back, but Cindy was truly one of the kindest humans I've ever met! From the phone, to then being greeted by her when I walked in, she was amazing. I was then met by Jamie who did an excellent job carrying out my vision for what I wanted my hair to look like. Natalie always made it look great but because it was so fine, I had to keep it short. Keeping it short made it look fuller but I was still always very insecure about my hair and I rarely ever wore it down. I always wanted long hair for as long as I can remember but I was never able to have it. I finally accepted that I was never going to have it but I still wanted it. Natalie suggested that I try tape in extensions. I didn't think they would work for me because I thought my hair was too fine and wouldn't hold them. I finally decided to try them in February and it was the best thing I ever did. Now, my hair looks amazing. I finally have that long hair I always wanted. I get lots of compliments on it and it looks so natural that nobody knows I have extensions unless I tell them. The first cut my sideburns way too high instead of middle ear as I asked and didn't square the back as I asked, And she failed the eyebrows as I asked. The second also cut the sideburns too high but did square the back as I wanted. The problem was she failed to use vasoline or something else to prevent the black dye from staining my head on the front, back and sides. I looked ridiulious. It took lots of medical grade rubbing alcohol and two weeks of daily rubbing the alcohol on my skin to get it off. It cost $107 each time for the screwed up haircut. NEVER AGAIN!!! I went to Sports Clips and got the haircut perfectly done for $28 including tip. And I went to Sally Beauty to get the needed hair dye and application stuff to do it myself in just 45 minutes with great results.

My lessons learned: blowouts have gotten EXPENSIVE, with quality at blow dry bars really varying based on who you get. Salons will always beat out a blow dry bar when I want a relaxing experience and fresh, perfectly styled hair that lasts a few days, and Oxana salon has quickly become one of my favorites for a high quality-to-value blowout. I've been a handful of times with their level 1 stylists (used to be $45, now $54 for a blowout) and their assistants (still $36 -- truly a wild price for the quality!), and the assistant blowouts here are honestly some of my favorite blowouts I've gotten in town. My personal favorite has been Justine. Incredible pressure when she massages your scalp and washes your hair, and a clean, classic style that lasts for multiple days even in this Nashville summer heat. Bonus: she actually styled my bangs correctly, which is a rarity. Callie also did a fantastic job when I came in last-minute for a birthday dinner recently, and that blowout has held up for 4 days despite the insane heat wave we've been having. The salon uses high-quality Oribe products (a personal fave), has easy parking right next to the venue, and is easy to book online in advance. Sometimes - when luck is in my side - I can even snag a same-day appointment! I'm always reluctant to spill my secrets lest my favorite spots become unbookable, but Justine and Callie are genuinely the most talented at their level I've been to in Nashville and are deserving of the recognition!

No kerastase treatment came with the $180 price tag, appalling that a blowout doesn't come with that automatically. This is not my first head spa and they usually include a very strong scalp massage, this just felt like a very weak finger tips just pressing on your head, even though I asked the gal to do firmer pressure three times. It is advertised as coming with a neck and shoulder massage, it does not. I don't mind paying money like this for a couple hour service but it should be more than a weak shampoo. It doesn't provide value for the experience, especially compared to an actually Japanese head spa I've done recently for half the price.
