First off...FIRST TIME GUESTS GET A GREAT DEAL. $35 for a Brazilian wax. WOW! My kitty was like "yes bih...today is the day" From entry I felt comfortable, the salon itself it's cute and simple with clearly visible certifications & services. Already dazed over the prices before i even got started. So ladies if you don't know Brazilian waxes are PAINFUL for your first time. My waxing specialist (who's name i will be getting when i go back later this week for a hair appt.) was very informative and coached me through the horrible pain. This is one of the most competent waxing places I've been to in my life. I got a full Brazilian and nose wax- both impeccable. Better than the best EWC waxing if that is a comparison. (I also asked for eyebrow waxing, and the waxer said "you don't need it," and tweezed a couple of hairs and done! Also, I was in the area and I called ahead and was taken right away. I am very late writing this review as I believe I have been coming here for almost a year. I love it. I always come out of this Salon feeling beautiful and better then I did when I got there. I first found this place through a Groupon I purchased for full Brazilian wax. Dion is amazing and such a lovely person. She is very professional and makes you feel so comfortable. Space is small but always clean. Just to add I am a big girl and she is always very thorough and accommodating. She also has done other waxing for me like my face etc always good prices. I also get my lashes done here and the lady who does them (forgot her name!) she is so pleasant as well and did an amazing job on my lash extensions. I received so many compliments and it did not harm my natural lashes! I also get my hair done here! Lily is amazing. I have extremely thin hair and she works with it so well. I have seen them do all different kinds of hair textures here, all done well. Lily takes her time and does it right! She is a perfectionist and it shows. I've also had hair extensions installed here (my first time ever) and it was a great experience. I still have them on and receive compliments all the time. Any service you need check them out give them a try I bet you will love it. I am very picky about where I go for my beauty needs I need to feel comfortable and this is the place for me! I purchased a voucher for 3 Brazilian waxes from Groupon. While the service was decent, not as thorough as I'm used to, I wasn't a huge fan. To start, when you read wax center, you aren't inclined to think that you will be getting waxed in a room the size of a storage closet, with a massage table that doubles as storage space for the salon, that probably really is a storage closet. The "center" is located inside of a salon, there is no place to store belongings, unless of course you place them on top of the nail polish that is on the shelving unit in the "center"/closet. I was so underwhelmed that I chose to let the value of the last of the wax trilogy go to waste, as I was charged more anyway. Not a fan.... read more

When I got there, I noticed that the place was small, but it was clean and well-kept. Dion, the owner of the place, greeted me and put me at ease right away. I spoke to her on the phone and she had an availability for me right away! Morris avenue is usually traffic during the time of my appointment and was worried that I wouldn't make it on time. I called to make an appointment for a spa pedicure and I was told they were very busy, but I can come in for a set time that day. Parking was hard to find in the area, but I managed to find a spot. When I arrived inside of the establishment, there were no other clients waiting. The place is small and has one pedicure/message chair. An attendant that was present took me right away. The spa pedicure was lackluster. She didn't massage my feet and rushed through the whole process including polishing my toes. Through it all, my toes looked good. However, this is not the place for me to go back to for a spa pedicure. read more

I visited Solo Wax Center on August 15th, 2015, right before heading on vacation. I've been waxing for last 6 years and very well aware of the discomfort associated with getting a Brazilian! I am not sure what magical powers Dion has but this was the first time in 6 years that the pain was minimal! This business is a model for how every business should be run! Not only do the owner and her staff take ultimate pride and show dedication in all they do, but they treat their customers like family! I have been here three times now. Each time I am more and more satisfied with the service. The first time I went to the salon, I had my hair highlighted, glazed, cut and styled. Although I looked like a super model when I walked out, I was not completely satisfied with the cut because it was different from my original vision. I approached the owner about my dissatisfaction and she was extremely gracious in her approach. Her conflict resolution skills are top notch - the best I have ever seen! This definitely convinced me to try her service once more and let me know just how much she was really dedicated to her business and her craft! Upon returning to the salon, I was greeted warmly and friendly without any negative feelings about my original dissatisfaction.
