Benjamin Lee was a solid legal advisor to me. And now we are happy…read more My kids, my ex-wife and I... we are in a positive place now building our futures independently and collaboratively. The kids are growing up happy with health, confidence and laughter. Although tough, a divorce doesn't have to end ugly. It can result in a reconfigured relationship standing on foundation of collaboration, trust and respect. That is how my experience was, and I contribute a large portion of this positive outcome to Benjamin Lee. My divorce did not start all sunny though. My ex-wife's divorce attorney was rude and onerous. Her lawyer instigated more negative emotions between us and was divisive. I didn't know what to do and had to seek my own professional legal advice. I was blessed to have found Benjamin. Once he came in, he quickly and objectively assessed the situation and leveled the playing field. Here what I really liked about Benjamin as my legal attorney: 1. RESPONSIVE. Benjamin was very accessible with fast response time. This is not a common case with other attorneys. They can have you hanging, waiting, and guessing in anxiety. Ben was always very responsible even when he was traveling out of the country. I had multiple channels to get in touch with him and he responded always within 24 hours, and mostly much faster. 2. RESPONSIBLE and RELIABLE. His work was very solid. No sloppy guess works or vague advises. He kept his promises. He provided sound legal advice based on the law and based on real cases and precedence. There were no false promises or providing false hope. He was realistic, ethical and objective. 3. RESOLUTION-ORIENTED. He is an attorney that wants his clients' cases to "resolve." Some attorneys are very much interested in complicating the case and prolonging the case to increase billing hours and legal expenses. Benjamin doesn't play that game. He focuses on practical matters to resolve conflicts and pursues a win-win. 4. RESPECTFUL of LEGAL COST. He kept me updated on the legal cost so that there are no surprises. I really appreciated this about him. At one time, I was asking a bunch of unnecessary questions out of curiosity - and taking up a lot of his time. Although he was happy to answer all my email questions, he also advised that the retainer can be spent more towards resolving the case. It was wiser to have him spend hours constructing strategies and options for my case vs. answering my "curiosity" questions I can Google. He is fair, transparent, honest and respectful when it comes to legal fees. 5. AUTHENTIC and a GOOD PERSON. I found Benjamin to be very mission oriented and passionate about family law. This is reflected in his company (Wellness Divorce) website but I got to experience it first hand. He believes that a divorce doesn't have to be a "broken failure" or a destructive battle. Benjamin has the mature spirit that knows a well-managed divorce process can enable and facilitate happiness on stronger grounds. He cares about what he does. And that was very important to me. When I was looking for an attorney, I didn't know what to do and what I was doing. I heard back from many lawyers who wanted my "business" but really didn't care about the details or intentions. They over-promised results with false promises. I also didn't hear back from many legal firms because they smelled it wasn't going to be a high-cost $$ case. Then, I found Benjamin Lee on Yelp on some random luck. I messaged him and he got back to me that day while he was on his vacation... in a different country, and in a different time zone. He asked the right questions. He provided the information I needed, and empowered me to make the decision. Fast forward, I am now divorced. I am happily in a new relationship. I am happily in a great relationship with my kids growing up with health, happiness, and confidence. I am in a positive relationship with my ex-wife, as her advocate, as a collaborative partner/co-parent, and as her friend. And I contribute a good part of this blessing to Benjamin -- Who was my legal advisor, a strategist and a reliable friend during what "could have" been my toughest time. I hope this review helps you in your seeking of family law legal services. Danny Lee

After you do, they will never again reach out proactively. I initiated every communication and was frequently ignored. Their go-to line is that if you don't hear from them it's because they are busy working on your behalf. This false message is meant to make you stay quiet. Despite my requests to speak with a paralegal or attorney, I never did. All communication was routed through an intake manager, which is a way for them to avoid accountability for the false and misleading information they give you. I received inconsistent and often contradictory information -- particularly around the communication with the insurance company. It became clear over time that the goal was to make me feel like my case had little value so I would be relieved to accept whatever low offer they put in front of me. They drag the process out, prioritizing quantity of cases over quality of representation. Months pass with little communication, bills pile up, and you grow exhausted and desperate. By the time an offer comes, you have been worn down to the point where you will accept whatever they "negotiate". They will not take your case to court -- that takes time and effort that does not fit their model. They told me that if I wanted to pursue a lawsuit with another firm then I should expect to pay upfront for representation. This is false. Personal injury attorneys work on contingency. That statement was either ignorant or intentionally misleading. I fired this firm. If you are hurt and want someone to preserve your rights and best interest, look elsewhere. They always complete my transactions on time, their cost is competitive with other firms, and they do excellent work. Something I value highly with them is the fact that they take a pragmatic approach to law and don't over complicate things unnecessarily. With that said, if a matter is complex they are very capable of handling it. I also refer our clients to them when they need a legal document such as a custom Seller Note, non-compete agreement, consulting agreement and more complicated agreements like a Basket Agreement. My experience with Boyd Law and Tom and Rick has been excellent, and they are always my first choice for a client referral.

I hired Boyd Law for a single Request for Order regarding my adult daughter's support arrears and…read moreattorney's fees. The total bill came to approximately $18,000. At the hearing where I appeared alone, because I could no longer afford to keep paying for representation, the judge described that amount as the most outrageous fee she had ever heard for a single RFO, and awarded me $0 in fees. She embarrassed and humiliated me by speaking about it over and over again. After the hearing, I raised these concerns directly with the firm. Matthew Cadwell reviewed the billing and told me the time spent was in line with what he'd seen in other matters, but acknowledged there was some time they could credit back. He offered a $500 courtesy credit, which I accepted. That was over a week ago. I've heard nothing since, and the credit was never processed. I also want to note that it was my attorney at the firm who told me, partway through this case, that I should go forward on my own rather than continue paying, since their continued involvement wouldn't necessarily change the outcome and he could not guarantee attorney's fees would be recovered. So when Matthew later suggested the result might have been different if the firm had been present at the hearing, that was hard to hear relative to what I had already been told by my attorney. For five months, my ex-husband contributed nothing toward our daughter's support. I paid this firm roughly $18,000 to get one court order, for which he still hasn't complied with the payment schedule on time, and hasn't complied with a second order to disclose trust information either. I liquidated retirement funds, incurred tax penalties, and took on credit card debt to cover the gap in the meantime. this entire experience has been nothing short of awful, and yet I believe I was doing the only thing available to me since nothing else I tried had worked. I can't recommend this firm due to all that has transpired. I am left feeling angry, disappointed, and embarrassed by all that transpired.

Very Intelligent, Strategic, Personable and Compassionate!…read more When my husband and I unfortunately found ourselves in need of an Attorney we called Nathan. The first impression I had of Nathan was the sincerity and compassion in his voice on the phone. This was a situation of our Easement Rights being violated on some acreage that we own. We called Nathan and explained our situation. Nathan believed that he could help us with our situation. I won't say the lawsuit was fun. We spent many days and nights wondering if we were doing the right thing. However, working with Nathan made the experience as bearable as he possibly could. Nathan is very easy to talk to and listens attentively. We loved the fact that we didn't have to deal with going through secretaries. Nathan always responds to his calls himself. If he is in a trial and isn't available, you just leave him a message and he will get back to you as quickly as he can. He will email, text and/or call you. It's different than an attorney's office where you always have to talk to various secretaries and leave a message. Bottom line: We ended up going to Mediation and didn't go to trial. We were so lucky to learn that Nathan had worked in the Orange County Mediation Office as the Head of the Department. He knew how to handle Mediations extremely well. Nathan won the Mediation for us!! The Defendant ended up being required to meet all of our requirements regarding our legal demands. (Easement rights and no road obstruction.) It's over and we are exceedingly grateful to Nathan for all the hard work and effort he put into our case. We highly recommend Nathan Mubashar, Esq!! He is extremely intelligent, very, very strategic, and thinks "way beyond any box," all the while being caring, humorous and professional. Thank you, Nathan for everything! Hugo & Helen.
