My daughter went there for a brief time before we moved her to a better school. Where do I begin first off the assistant principal is EXTREMELY unprofessional and just in general not a nice person and too over whelmed and immature to be in that position. Lord knows what the actual principal does as she is behind the scenes. The assistant principal doesn't believe in discipline when it comes to the athletes And they get away with just about anything. For example they were making fun of a colored student and my daughter witnessed it and the student complained to the principal and nothing was done about it. Finally there are aides and they stand around all day and chat and don't actually do their jobs. Overall I do think this school has gone down hill and recommended they hire better administrators starting w the assistant principal. I have also heard talk in my community about some anti semitism brewing in addition to the racism that is already out in the open and not handled. The school in general seems quite right wing and intolerant of other races and religions.

The malodorous smell wafts out to the basketball gym floor, and players are hit with the smell before they shoot their jump shot. The odor is enough to miss the shot. There were several reasons why I chose Chanel: 1. The uniforms were not too bad and we were given some options to "mix things up a bit" 2 Small class sizes (as compared to local public schools and other larger Catholic Schools) 3 Nice community feel amongst the teachers, administrators, and students 4. Yes, it is a Catholic High School, but it did not feel "too churchy" and we Incorporated a lot of general philosophy concepts in our religion courses 5. Good theatre program 6. Good sports program (for boys and girls) 7. Good opportunities for community service and improving the lives of others through volunteering 8. They offered a tuition payment plan that was manageable for my family I really have great memories of high school. I think this is in large part due to my choosing Chanel.

I would like to start my update by stating Principal Erin Short amd Mr Jim McQuaide have addressed issues in their wheelhouse which has been much appreciated. Let me be clear there is only one Varsity Girls basketball team. No JV as well as no Freshman Girls team. After the fiasco of Trish Kruse attempting to embarrass another new student besides my own by stating they would have to wear JV uniforms instead of the Varsity Uniforms in most of their possession was denied and attempted to do so anyway. I am glad to say everyone will be wearing the same uniform. As Trish likes to promote the team is a family. So why were all girls who are all on one team not permitted to warm up with the entire team. Emotional segregation and bifurcation of family? Even college and other high schools with the exception of IR players the entire team that traveled deserves to warm up! The roster can be adjusted if they quit was the response I received. Somehow, if we entrust our children young woman to develop characteristics that carry them through life do not our Solon Comets Varsity Girls team our young leaders of the future have equanimity as well as measurable skills and opportunity to prove in every practice and every game to be prepared and ready for participation working hard to be recognized skill wise not based on personality decisions fairly? How does this make our young ladies feel. Of course a coach has discretion of who plays but what are the outlined measurable that are fair to earn your upward ascent for playing time? What is The coach's fairness scale? Would we allow our pets mine is a dog deserve to not know the rules in our families. Who are we as a community and who do we allow to add additional psychological disengagement and pressures that psychological therapy is not an excused absence. What recourse is suggested by the coach to deal with girls emotional concerns. So we continue on Varsity Girls journey and we will see if change is forthcoming and who will be the arbiter of hope and change to really make the team have strong inclusive participation.

There is one swing for very very tall child - or they can put chest on the seat to swing, I suppose. The rest of the playground is a bit beat-down, like the other solon playgrounds. It's not particularly big either, but it is another option to take your kids to when the school is out. Don't come during the school hours- you 'll be competing with the students to use this rather small facility.
