The crew's training and knowledge as arborists was clear - both trees looked wonderful when they were done. The crew worked safe, they were careful to not damage things in the area, they were responsive to our input and questions, and they did an excellent job of cleanup. They didn't try to sell us any additional services; we were charged what they had quoted for the job. They had done work at our last place and our experience then was also very positive. I did not know Van Booven had arrived and was already working because they did not contact me or ring my door bell. I looked out my window and no one was there in front of my house. So when the other company called, I told them to come out. Turns out after the other company called and I told them to come out, I heard some machinery so I went outside and saw Van Booven's truck parked 2 houses north of mine - I have no idea why so far away. Then I saw a couple of men on my driveway working on downed tree limbs. The other company arrived shortly and I had to turn Van Booven away. I would have used Van Booven if they had let me know they were there. When I told them I was using the other company, the man said they would send me a bill. Honestly, if you were a house painter and a homeowner asked you to paint their house, would you paint it any color you wanted, or would you first consult with the owners? This was a similar situation. Van Booven sent me a bill for $325 just for coming out. Given the above information, I do not recommend Van Booven as I do not feel they are honest and I feel they did not care what I wanted because they did not consult with me before they began working.

My backyard is a total mess and he didn't do any of the shrubs so the side of the house or the trimming that I paid him for took didn't finish the job and will not come back and finish the job and won't return any of the money we paid upfront on the first tree had no trouble we so we thought no problem. This is the first time I've had to deal with a tree falling in my yard. And a horrible experience I would not hire this company to do any work. Maybe it's our fault cause we gave him the money upfront. Once got the money, he just packed up and left. Maybe it's our fault for pain first before the job was finished. We went from a makeshift fire pit area surrounded by weeds to a 1300 ft paver patio with short retaining wall. We also included a built in fire pit and water feature. Alex helped us plan our project and oversaw it from beginning to end. The entire project took about two months, and included drainage, lighting, and irrigation. Every worker we encountered was polite and obviously took pride in their work. They were also terrific in keeping a clean work site and helping us keep the peace with our neighbors during this process. We are so happy with the high quality results. Their workers are true craftspeople. I love sitting outside and watching the birds play in the fountain. Sometimes I take my computer outside to work. You said they would not be a problem, It's a problem. And what is the vine on the one lilac? I hope it's not poison ivy. No response from her. I contacted her again, on the 17th. Kathryn, these are growing up through the mat you put under the rocks. You said that wouldn't happen. Her reply yesterday the 17th. Hi Lori, I had discussed with you that the bagged rock was full of dirt which is causing this issue. I blew off as much as I could the day of however there was still way too much. This is typical from bagged rock. My best recommendation now would be to remove the rock and throughly rinse the area of all dirt and debris or remove the rock (you can use elsewhere if you'd like), throughly clear all dirt and debris then lay new rock from my vendor. I want to point out that the weeds are coming from above the weedmat from the dirt that came with the rocks. If you move the nearby rocks to the weeds, you'll see that the start of the roots are on top then they're penetrating the mat allowing them to keep growing. I will be happy to come out again. Let me know which option you'd like to go with and I'll send you the estimate. My reply yesterday. No, I have pulled the rocks back, and they are through the mat in several places. Why didn't you rinse it when you put it down there if you knew that was an issue? There was a hose right there. So the mat is not stopping anything and you knew this would happen. So I paid you 2K for nothing other than making it a smaller area with the same issues. That is unacceptable, that I have to come after your work to remove and rinse what you knew to be a problem, and did not take care of. By the way, she said with the industrial mat nothing would come through, that's why she uses it. She only used two bags of new rock, the rest were the original rocks, she did not mention they needed to be rinsed along with all of the existing rock and she didn't do it. From the amount of dirt between the rock and mat it looks like she didn't rinse near enough or at all. Here is her reply. I did rinse it once it was laid and I blew off at high velocity. However it didn't remove all of it. I did let you know the day of about the issue with the dirt in the rocks. The roots are penetrating the mat from above not below. She said I rinsed it once AFTER it was laid, not before. So, the mat and the rocks were not rinsed before she put them back. Thus leaving the dirt in all of the rock she put back. So I still have grass and weeds growing in my new landscaping.

Wow, these guys were amazing. I had an over 100-year-old Hackberry Tree that was 80 to 100 feet…read moretall and in a very difficult spot. It was hanging over my house and my neighbor's garage. The skills these guys had and their extraordinary attention to safety were like none other. They had my tree cut down, ground the stump, and cleaned up impeccably in 4 hours. Amazing. No debris is left behind. Put my fences back the same way having to remove them to get the equipment in my yard. I highly recommend this company. They listened to what I wanted done and being a woman that doesn't always happen. Can't say enough good things about this company. I hired D&B to remove a limb that fell during a recent storm, with work scheduled on a Friday. The…read morework wasn't done, but since Saturday had been given as an alternate I wasn't too concerned. When nobody showed on Saturday, I had the limb taken care of by someone else. I wasn't too bothered until the owner called the following Tuesday and asked about rescheduling and I told her I was not happy about not being contacted at all. Her excuse was that she was out of town. Sorry lady, my time is just as valuable as yours. If you're running a business and know you won't be available, have someone else keep customers updated so they feel like they mean more to you than just dollars.
