A beautiful, black young lady was told by the owner of Coconut Vibe Swimwear, an overpriced, poor quality establishment in the Promenade in Coconut Creek, that she was ugly. The young woman had apparently been waiting for the store to open, and so was I. The sign on the store stated it would be open at 12:00 on Sundays. It opened way past 12:00 today. When the owner finally showed up and opened the store, both the young woman and I went in. We both started browsing in separate racks. The owner approached the young woman who indicated she was browsing. The owner responded nastily, suggesting she did not care for the young woman to touch her merchandise. The young woman took the owner's nasty comments in stride and patiently continued browsing, at which point she struck up a conversation with me about waiting to get into the store as she had seen me waiting also, a conversation that was not inclusive of the owner. The owner stormed over and angrily berated the young woman, calling her ugly and demanding she leave her store. I have never seen such erratic, unhinged, disgustingly racist behavior by a proprietor. This store is never well patronized as the merchandise is of poor quality and pricey. I will never support this business in the future and I suggest that no one does. This store owner needs to move her business out of Coconut Creek, a family friendly, inclusive, and diverse community. Please do not patronize this establishment! I'm still in shock!!

Everything in this store is required for a day at the beach or street skating.
