The staff was very patient and brought me over a dozen bras to try, but I just did not find the right one. I bought one out of desperation and guilt that I thought I could make work but ended up returning. Their bras are pretty, and moderately priced for what you are getting, but they don't seem to have much variety when it comes to fitting different types of busts. They use just the standard 2 measurements method and don't really ask any questions about the arrangement of the tissue. The store is attractive though, and if you know your proper size and have a good idea of your shape and what types of bras will work, you might find something great for you. read more

I will usually drive to Santa Clarita to buy my Soma garments. I love their customer service and, they are very helpful there. Didn't have time to make the drive from Oxnard to Santa Clarita so decided to stop by the store at The Collection. NEVER AGAIN. Not sure if they were shortstaffed, but, the young lady assisting me was rude. Rude.I tried in a couple of different styles of bras. I requested to size up. After waiting for a few minutes, she returned with a different color, but, same size. Like, WTF! When I informed her it was the same size, all she said was we don't have the size you asked for. Rachel was so helpful and when I tried on the bra which was a completely different size than I thought I was questioning her. Just returned from a visit to the Oxnard, CA store and the service was amazing. Super helpful, great sense of humor and informative while taking in my opinion. Given the promotions occasionally offered I received an amazing value for my first visit of 20% off and there was a crazy panty sale as well that I took advantage of. But best of all the bras are incredibly comfortable and supportive at the same time; and much more so if you take a lot of time to find your best size. I can't recommend going into a shop and spending some real time there. I typically peel my bra off as I walk in the door and it's part of that doorway ritual most days, but I can already feel that these bras might be comfortable enough to keep wearing (!). So great. On another note Soma has some items inside of Chicos stores but the inventory is less and the staff isn't fully trained on helping you the way the Soma gals do - the experience was completely different. Not to bash the Chicos stores but bras are very specific so going to the full Soma store experience is hugely recommended the first time - they also have more sizes available for trying on and the smaller versions of the stores don't seem to have the same inventory which is understandable. If you're over 40 you have to check this place out - it's a must!! As larger department stores die out and those huge bra inventories become unavailable for trying on, stores like Soma are incredibly valuable to every woman who needs a bra - online shopping just isn't as efficient or productive. Well worth the prices which are reasonable given the quality. My clerk even managed an easy phone return with the other store I bought a bra from (not my best size) and made it all so easy. I love Soma as a brand however this store has fallen in terms of their customer service. My experience highly depends on who is working at the time. There were two women working when I went in this last time and no one else in the store and the vibe I got from them was "annoyed" that they had to stop what they were doing (like nothing) and provide customer service. One of them was semi-helpful and the other one looked unhappy and was kind of rude in her tone (I think she was the manager). In the past I have received excellent service from other staff so I was surprised at how poorly I was treated. I still spent over $100 there because I love the brand so much but I feel like I should order online from now on because the attitude of the staff was unwelcoming. read more

I'm fit, slender and moderately busted. I went in, despite some of the earlier reviews advising not to visit if you are "attractive". I went in with my yoga clothes (including a sports bra) and declared my Victoria Secret bra size of a 32D. Why not be honest and be comfortable? I asked to be sized since it was my first time purchasing one of their bras. If it wasn't going to work, I was going to go Nordstrom's or something. Alexa measured me and asked me what kind of a bra I am looking for. This is where the awesome customer service comes in. She didn't try to sell me something else, she was focused on what I was looking for and matched my search criteria. She gave me my "Victoria's Secret" size to try on. When that didn't work, she offered me their "sister size" to it a 34C. I loved the size and fit, and wanted another color. Alexa searched for the color and couldn't find it. She offered to order it for me and have it delivered. I got everything I needed with the utmost in care. The bras aren't cheap - but they are definitely excellent quality. She helped me find exactly the right size and styles to fit me. Bra shopping can be horrible especially for a large busted girl. Some stores don't carry my size or only have white or beige. Nope! This brand and location are terrible. Extremely overpriced garments that are ill fitting. I received a gift card to Soma from someone, tried using it three different times to purchase bras that NEVER fit. The last time I used it I bought things online that were advertised in large cup sizes like E, EE, F - I intentionally got these sizes knowing that the stuff runs very small. Lies- these bras were NOT. Those size, despite what the tags said. They fit like a D cup, at best. I took them in to the Oxnard location to return them & explained the "fit" the employee told me "Oh, yeah, these run narrow." NARROW?! Are you kidding me, this isn't a pair of shoes - it's a bra! I pleaded with them to please just put the money back on my card and stop trying to give me a gift card. I explained that their bras do not work for me. The manager stepped in and said they couldn't do that blah, blah, blah.... She took forever calling some "customer service" line who was supposed to mail me another gift card from the return (the applied only part back to my debit card) and after all that I NEVER received their stupid gift card by mail. I don't even care though, because I hate this brand! Don't waste your time. You can get better undergarments at many other places, that run accurately and at way better prices. I walked in not Intending to buy anything and walked out $350 poor. But I didn't feel bad, the bras and dresses I bought were comfortable and of good quality and the experience I had in the store was awesome. I felt comfortable and welcome the whole time. They didn't even rush me out when it was time to close. Diesha was like my own personal attendant. She made me feel comfortable and sized me up for my bras. She is the best! I went in last night because all of my current bras were not fitting properly. There were two women working when I came in and they both greeted me warmly. I told them I was in need of a good fit. Alexa was the gal who helped me. She took my measurements and suggested a size. She then took me around the store to show me all of the different options that came in my size. I have to say that was a great touch. No other bra store has shown me where everything is (ahem Victoria Secret!). Alexa pulled some of the favorites from the back, probably about 5 to start. I tried them on and after each one she checked on the fit and adjusted it if necessary. For some styles I needed a different band or cup size and she quickly got those. I decided on the styles I liked and then she helped me select colors. I ended up leaving the store with 5 new, wonderfully fitting bras. If you've never shopped at Soma, the prices are similar to Victorias Secret but the customer service is so much better! They also have larger band sizes in the store, which is nice for a plus size gal like myself. Alexa was fantastic and the other woman was friendly (sorry I didn't catch her name!). I highly recommend this store and for any woman needing a good bra! I will for sure be back. read more

Never say never !!!!!!!!! Yes, I recently went to this location again. You know, three strikes and your out.....but what if the coach changes the players? Well like restaurants. Chefs do get fired and the food is then great. Anyway I tried this location as Victoria's Secret is two doors down. Double play(time). Oops let's talk customer service. I went in too shop the new line from Soma. It's not your mothers bras and panties anymore! The new lines better than their competition two doors down. Anyway I met, Donna, not her real name. She presented the new lines with passion. I was torn between two different sets. One retro and embroidered roses on them and a stunning pink and red variegated lace set. I decided not to buy as I noticed Donna with excellent customer service noticed me staring at the promo poster for that lingerie set. I returned two days later and she not only remembered me, but she asked me if I had decided between the two. We picked up as if two days has not gone by. Donna presented options and help me with sizing to get a perfect fit. Sadly I ran out of time and the store needed to close. So, look for part three soon. read more

I have been going do soma for a couple of years and I have been returning lots of stuff because i might get the wrong size but there has been no problem. I have been meaning to go and return my intimates because I did not like how they fit. I arrive and the last return I made I forgot my receipt but a very nice lady was able to look up my purchase with my credit card i had used in that purchase. I was talking with that same lady when the lady next to her intervenes. I had no issue but she had not known my case at all and then the lady i usually speed with couldn't talk. The lady next to her did not want to try to look my purchase up on the computer. She did not attempt to help me out. I came back with my receipt and she would not even scan it to check if i was able to return my things. She stood in front of me with an improper manner and looked like she had better things to do and kept rolling her eyes and repeating herself. I always encounter wonderful service in this store. The staff has always gone above and beyond any service I've experienced at any other clothing store. I believe Kaysha is the name of the young lady who has helped me on several occasions and she is my favorite. They are all sweet and accommodating but she really searched the store high and low a couple months back when I was looking for a particular bra. The bras are such wonderful quality, I can't believe the amount of money I wasted at Victorias Secret in the past. This is the only place I will shop from now on. I was hoping to FINALLY get a bra that fits! I had a MAJOR injury a few years ago (upper arm) and have been wearing a "Genie" bra through "rehab". Easy to get on and off ( I STILL can't fasten in the back... Have to fasten in the front and then rotate the bra 180 degrees... And adjust). I saw videos and articles about "Soma", and I have depended on their recommendations , have been back twice and all that I have is two expensive bras that I am going to send to Goodwill. IF I knew how to select a bra that fits to begin with... I wouldn't have needed to go to them for a fitting! On my first visit, I was measured and tried on a bra (C cup).... There was LOTS of empty room at the top of the cup... The "fitter" suggested that I go to a D cup... That did NOT make since to me; but, I adjusted straps, moved "the girls" around a bit, and hoped that this was correct and went home with 2 bras. I wore one of them for a few days; and, the fit was NOT correct. Went back to the store, talked with a manager and she exchanged both bras back to a C cup... Remember, the original problem was with the C cup. It was NOT suggested that we try "re-fitting" the bra! I relied on the "experts", went home with 2 C cup bras, adjusted straps, moved "the girls" around; and, still MAJOR void at the top of the bra. I have sat disgusted for a few weeks (I could have had a better fitting bra from Walmart); but, I have decided to go back one more time (tomorrow) and give them one last chance before I toss the bras. I EXPECT someone will help me select a bra that will fit me! There WAS a reason that I went to the store for a "PROFESSIONAL" fitting! I didn't know that all that was entailed in that was two measurements with a tape measure. As a back up, I am looking into the "Jockey" brand bra. Their cup size measurement is based on breast "volume"; not a measurement in inches. That MAY be my issue, at 58, the "girls" are a bit "saggy". Will let you know how my visit goes tomorrow. IF I have bras that fit; or, a goodwill donation. It WILL be interesting; because, when I called the store today, expressing my concerns, I was talking with my original fitter, "Jasmine", and mid conversation, she hung up on me. I love the Soma brand--they have good quality merchandise and carry sizes above a D cup. I'm hard to fit so I'm constantly looking for stores that stock my size 36G. I love that there are pajama options that fit me correctly (twist front camisole is my go to). The ladies here are nice and helpful.
