Bought these vanishing edge panties and was disappointed when the elastic started to fail immediately in one of the many pairs I bought.I live in Ridgefield, Wa and they don't have a store nearby so I wasn't able to immediately return to the store within 30 days. When I did make it to Portland, Oregon they wouldn't even exchange it - despite it being a clear manufacturing defect. I'm a longtime customer of Soma, White House Black Market & Chicos and a believer of buying local but if they can't support a small item then I can't support them. read more

Overall I am unhappy with my experience with this soma. And the company in general. This review is based on the product, service, and policies. I went in to purchase a replacement for a soma bra I bought in 2020, that I really loved and wore it to rags. Soma discontinued that style a long time ago, so I agreed to try on some other styles. When I told the associate my size, she said "let's remeasure you since time has passed," and more rudely, "you would be swimming in that size" referring to the size I requested. Then she proceeded to tell me I was a different size - one with a band two sizes bigger than what my old bra was. I have not changed in weight that much. She refused to let me try on the size I said that I was and kept bringing me the size she decided on. I did end up liking 2 bras in the new size so I bought them. After only 10 wears one of the bras' wire popped out. What a cheap product! I chatted with an online associate who said that because I had worn the bra and removed the tags, they would not accept the return. When I looked up causes for underwires popping out, one main result was due to the bra being the wrong size. I used the online "A Bra That Fits" calculator and it confirmed that I am the size that I said I wore all along. I am giving this location (and this company) 2 stars because of the cheaply made product, the rudeness and insistence of the staff that their sizing was right and their refusal to even get me the size I wanted to try on, their impossible refund policy (I'm now stuck with 2 defective, wrong-sized bras that I wasted my money on), and the lack of longevity of their bras. 10 wears and done. The only reason this is not a 1-star review is because I do like their underwear fit and styles. More than just intimates, Soma has loungewear, leggings, dresses, jeans, pants, athletic compression, pajamas and swimwear in addition to bras and panties. Who knew? After doing a search online for velour loungewear, a pair of gray pants from Soma came up. Unfamiliar with their sizing since all brands are different, I called the store and they put a pair on hold for me. Drove to Washington Square, they are located across from Sephora, so I could try them on. Even though I loved the color and material, I wanted them to fit looser since I they are for lounging around the house. The fit was more like leggings so I had to do a catch and release. The sales clerk was super helpful, even called the Clackamas store and checked online for me. Unfortunately since it's late in the season, my size was sold out. While I was there, I took the opportunity to try on some leggings, pants and athletic wear just to get an understanding of how their clothes fit in case I find something I like online at a future time, I'll know what size to order. Wish I was in need of bras and intimates because they had a great sale going on with markdowns of 40-50% off. Lots of pajama separates too, for just $10-15. The dressing room was clean, no nasty dust or lint, and there was a large comfy bench. They even have a stretchy camisole bra in the dressing room in case you are trying on a top and don't have the appropriate bra. All in all a good experience. The store's primary focus is lingerie and sleepwear but they also offer some dresses, loungewear, swimwear, activewear and shapewear. Soma carries a nice selection of stylish and well made bras in assorted colors. The merchandise sold here appears to be geared toward a mature customer with classic taste. You won't find any frilly, pink babydolls here. Everything is tastefully stylish. The decor of the store is also tasteful and modern using neutral colors. You won't see any garish pink walls here. The merchandise is displayed nicely. It's a pleasant atmosphere. There were two sales ladies working when I visited the store today. I was never greeted or offered help while I browsed the entire store. One of the sales ladies was trying to help customers in the fitting room and on the salesfloor while the other employee was working at the check out counter. The employee working the salesfloor appeared to be overwhelmed and stressed. Perhaps she was stressed at having to work during the pandemic or maybe the other employee wasn't helping out enough. Whatever the reason, her anxiety made me uncomfortable. Soma offers a nice alternative to other lingerie stores, such as VS. The merchandise sold here is stylish and well made. read more

Writing a review to give a shout out to the fantastic ladies working at this Soma. As an over 50 woman, my usual bras were just not cutting it anymore. I realized I was going to have to upgrade what I wear and spend a little more money for quality and comfort. The service here is old-school hands-on customer service that is practically unheard of anymore. Even walking into Nordstrom, a very nice young woman in her early 20s asked if I needed help- but let's be honest- someone my daughter's age isn't going to understand the different needs we have as we get older. I felt much more comfortable with the fit expert who was closer to my age at Soma. She asked a few questions, did a quick measurement and then brought in bra after bra for me to try. She helped with the fit and adjustments and was very kind and professional. I spent $125 for two bras but feel they will be worth it. I would definitely buy more if they ever go on sale. read more

I hadn't shopped at this store since 2018 due to the lackluster customer service. I got a gift card for Christmas so I decided to try again. I had recently lost weight so I needed some new bras. I had tried on a few and asked the saleslady if I needed to go up a size or get a wider band due to some skin under the arms. She said "I would need a scalpel to get rid of that!" She said it twice! I was shocked silent. It was so unprofessional and if I hadn't needed bras and wasn't sure my size I would of shopped online like I always do. She helped get me a bunch of different sizes to try which was great, but her comments were just terrible. It's crazy as the last time I was here an employee said something about how people shopping online makes brick and mortar stores close down. I love the feeling and quality of the clothing, BUT you must always try on every piece of clothing BEFORE removing the tags even if you purchase the same style clothing in the same size. I was at Soma early Thursday morning looking for good bras. After I had baby, my body has changed. I thought it's time for me to seek for help to update my measurement so that they can recommend good products! Boy I was wrong. First, this lady I talked to wasn't really helpful. She did take measurement for me but didn't even bother helping me further. She pointed at clearance rack and walked away. Second person I asked for help decided not to help me because she thought I was other employees customer. This is very sad. I actually went in the store because I needed service I can't get through online. Because of the experience, I went to different lingerie store(VS) at mall and had great customer service. I honestly think this is as good as it gets in terms of customer service: Donna helped me today and was everything a customer can wish for. A big "thank you" for that. As soon as one walks inside this store there's a pleasant energy and friendly faces. Maybe -and I don't meant to be rude- I also like the fact they understand "real women bodies" and take the time to measure and help. I've experienced this differently, leaving me feel awkward and insecure. I don't have a supermodel body, so it's important to me to feel at ease. Donna helped me and made me feel comfortable and appreciated as a customer. Soma carries a huge variety of lingerie, swim wear and lounge wear: this will be my go to address in the future. Honestly I was getting frustrated with Bras altogether but the staff was patient and had me try on different styles. I bought my first Soma bras here during a sale in August -- one turned out nice, but their signature bra, the Embliss, turned out on wearing to be way too big. Since I'm out of the country a lot, I didn't bother returning it. Then about a month ago, I got a courtesy phone call from Soma marketing, thanking me for buying, and asking if I were satisfied. I told her the Embliss bra I'd bought was too big, and she said "We believe in 100 percent customer satisfaction -- please return it for a smaller one!" When I explained I would be on business trips again, she assured me "Please take it in any time when you are back in Portland; there is no expiration! Any time you can! We want to exchange it for your complete satisfaction!" So now, several weeks after her call, I made a special trip to Washington Square to exchange it for a smaller size. The sales person said "why would someone call you?" and "it's too late to exchange anything." Most disappointing, and embarrassing after the warm friendliness of the marketing lady who called me. Is there a marketing courtesy company out there pretending to be from Soma? Or was the sales woman in the store simply uninformed and kind of rude? One of my favorite panties sensuous lace high leg were on clearance and it looks they are not coming back (please bring it back). So I was trying to get all what they have. I had a fantastic experience in this store! My bra size is a 34DD and for some reason it's really hard to find my size anywhere else but Victoria secret, which aren't even comfortable and overpriced! I heard good things about soma so I thought I'd give it a shot. Crystal was very helpful and made sure I was taken care of! I have usually have great customer service at this store, however when I visited last week, I received the worst ever, because she didn't listen. I specifically asked the sales person for a fun, colorful bra in my size. I pointed to the polka dot one I wanted. She proceeds to tell me they have several types of bras and lots in my size, etc. I explained to her that I have shopped here before and again asked about the polka dot bra. She went to the back and brought 3 black bras and said they could order something in my size! I repeated that I wanted a COLORFUL, fun bra not black and she got a little miffed that I wasn't interested in ordering a bra online. I wanted to walk out of the store with my new colorful bra. We went here, when posh closed down in the pearl district :(. So sad! So we decided to give this store a chance. The staff was helpful and friendly, honestly they are the reason it even gets 3 stars. I bought 4 bras that I interchange frequently and take very good care of. It hasn't even been 8 months since we got them and I was already stabbed twice in the breast and armpit by the underwire popping out. Can you say disappointed? I have had bras that I solely wore for 8 months that (is squeaky sometimes) but still functions and hasn't tried to assassinate my breast. Poor quality, is a sad truth. I hate to do this because I have shopped at Soma for a long time. The staff at Washington Square has always been great and the store has a great inventory. This time though, I dealt with a manager, Veronica, who was abrupt, told me I could not exchange an item before even hearing the reason for the request and made me the customer, feel like the enemy. I had exchanged the same merchandise previously without a problem because I was given the wrong type at purchase. This even though I had removed the labels. This time, she told me that I was way pas the time limit for a return and I explained that the store was closed for renovations, hence the delay. She told me I had the opportunity of making the exchange in Clakamas! For a $19 item, she has lost me as a customer, as well as Chico's and the two friends I had brought to Soma will not shop there again. After getting 3 incorrect bra sizings where the "bra specialist" didn't even bother to view or check the bras they had me try on I was so super frustrated and I went into Soma with very low expectations but much to my surprise I was promptly greeted and explained my dilemma and frustrations with Melissa and she rechecked my size which was different from other ones so I was skeptical. She got me a fitting room and brought in several styles for me to try. She left me to it and a few minutes later she came back.... that's right this bra fitting angel Melissa came back and actually looked at and checked the bra and she came back and checked everyone I tried explaining which ones were good fits and how they worked for my breast size. I will never buy a bra from anywhere other than Soma! If you are struggling with finding the perfect bra I highly rev omen going to Soma at Washington Square and if Melissa is working have her help you.
