My review is for the online courses (although I see that the new location is walking distance from…read moremy home!). After moving to Denver I was hopeful that I would be able to connect with a center and I was delighted to find that there is a thriving community here. I was able to quickly locate the available classes, purchase both individual classes, and now a membership. This weekend was an online retreat and I found it easy to attend and follow along. The sound and video were fantastic and the classes started and ended on time, which I greatly appreciate. Now that I've signed up for a monthly membership, I'm looking forward to taking a stroll around the lake to class as weather and pandemic restrictions allow.

It was a great experience. Now I visit when I can. Their downtown space is very cool and peaceful inside, and people are very welcoming. You don't need to bring anything. They have cushions and comfy chairs. I bring a notebook; Kadam Lucy always has something I want to remember. PARKING: People complain about parking downtown, but it's not so bad. There are two parking lots basically next door, so it's not hard to find. The one on Glenarm is $5 for the day except when there's something big going on downtown, and then it's $20. When it's $20, I go to the parking lot behind it (other side of the alley). It'll be $10. But street parking works too. The teachers are aware to keep the class short enough for the meter :-). And Sundays are free parking.

I researched area Tai Chi practitioners and booked an initial "tai chi" session with Master Anita…read moreand while she is very sweet and quite gifted, I cannot recommend Body & Brain and feel that an honest review is warranted. Note that I'm a certified and registered yoga teacher (RYT 200) and reiki practitioner (level 2) and have been receiving eastern modalities for over 20 years now. In all that time I have NEVER had an experience like this anywhere. Here's why I've given two stars: - I booked a Tai Chi session online and when I showed up, Anita ended up performing an energy session that resulted in a weak chakra/energy diagnosis and a need for comprehensive healing. The latter is true - I have pain and deal with that daily. Shame on me for allowing myself to get suckered into a package "deal." $3k for 90 days. Yep, you read that correctly. $3k for healing sessions, tai chi classes and workshops to heal me. I have since been refunded $1800 of that because I wised up and realized this place is simply a money pit. They price gouge for healing sessions as the customary rate is $100-$150 for an hour. - Initially, I thought this place was legit but over time that perception changed; it's all about maximizing how much money they can squeeze out of customers vs. taking the time to fully explain service offerings, pricing from the onset and find out the best fit for each person based on their needs, budget, etc. That conversation never happened so shame on them. Shame on me for not asking more questions and standing my ground in the very beginning. - The credentials of their staff are not clear. Are they RYT (registered yoga teacher) certified? No, they aren't. Are they Reiki certified? Not sure. What kind of medical training do they have? Not sure. These things are not transparent on their site. Please ask and don't assume anything as I did. This is important because practicing out of scope is not only illegal but can be harmful for customers receiving certain treatments from those that haven't had proper training. - This used to be Dahn yoga and they rebranded to save face. Research for yourself - Dahn had been in the hot seat in the past for many, many reasons. I remember going to one Dahn class over a decade ago and I ran for the hills after because it was not yoga. Yoga originated in India, is based on sanskrit and does not guilt people into worship, excess of anything. I could say more but I'll stop there and let you be the judge. If some folks have had positive experiences here I'd say keep going. I am simply speaking about my individual experience.

I could go on for days about how wonderful this place is, but it's a place you kind of have to…read moreexperience yourself. Master Anita isn't called master for no reason, she is caring, kind, strong, happy, knowledgeable and GENUINE. She deeply cares for each one of her clients and bend over backwards to make sure she can help. However, ALL of the instructors here are great! I came here after having multiple surgeries and not finding any relief, after my last surgery (it's been almost a year) and I'm almost out of pain and have way more flexibility than I have had in many, many years. I wouldn't be where I am now without master Anita, the other instructors and this wonderful place. I came here initially to try tai chi, but I just wasn't strong enough yet and did one on ones with master Anita and eventually started doing yoga once a week and then would increase as I was getting stronger and it wasn't even until five months later I started with tai chi, which I do really love. This place is great and it's not your traditional style of yoga, it is different. There is no judgment, and it's a very excepting place for whatever level you're at! There is varied ages that attend classes, there is also online options (but I recommend starting in person). There are workshops you can do, some are cheaper and less time summer more intense and are more costly. But each one I have done has been 110% worth it, I learn something new every time. Depending on the class it can get intense, but again everything is at your level of comfort and you just do the best you can and it is accepted. This place has changed my life, and is now a part of my regular routine. I can't imagine where I would be right now if it wasn't for master Anita, the instructors in this amazing program! I'm so grateful!

The center is easily accessible to those new to Buddhism or Meditation, with instruction available from qualified teachers in a setting that is separate from the main sitting room, so you don't feel intimidated by all those people in robes. Show up a little early so they know you need the lesson. Regular sittings, often twice a day. Regular talks and retreats. Nice folks. All of the beginner students were welcomed upon arrival and we were given basic instructions prior to the meditation session starting. I felt comfortable and prepared based on the instructions offered. The group was a mix of visitors and regular members and followed the structure of 25 minutes seated meditation, 5 minutes of walking meditation, a second 25 minute seated meditation and second 5 minute walking meditation. Following the meditation, the primary teacher and two group leaders offered basic insights on buddhism, the zen tradition and their group. They also invited us to become a regular member of their community, which was nice. While I am a fairly seasoned meditation practitioner, I appreciated the guidance and basic understanding of a practice that I am less familiar with, and I would recommend the beginner night event to anyone new to meditation, or interested in exploring the zen tradition.

Jonathan Ellerby built that Spiritual Center to an amazing place of healing and love over a [period…read moreof over 6 years because that is what he was. Rev. Christina Jones has completely destroyed that in a few short months. It transcends being a complete tragedy landing as a spiritual sacrilege. More so her entire board agrees with her threatening behavior. I went to drop off some warm clothes for a homeless man and found the doors unlocked and no one there. I have helped cook lunch and done other volunteer work there for over three years. I called the people who were in charge, and they were too busy to deal with it. I fended off 3 people who came in for 3.5 hours, one being quite belligerent. I called for help again as I am 77 and was ignored or yelled at. So then I left the clothes and necessities for the man at the St. Francis door where the church custodian or whatever he is took them and took the extra effort to throw them into a dumpster full of rotting food instead of just laying them next to the dumpster. When I heard about this, I went back with the homeless man rescued what we could and then wrote several angry emails about my abandonment and the cruel action of deliberately trying to destroy the clothes. So the not so good reverend, in my opinion did not like what I wrote and instead of attempting to do healing she wrote a really nasty email saying she had reporting me to the authorities, though she and everyone refuse to tell me who they are; and then openly threatened to have me arrested for illegal dumping and then board president Bob Bercaw or whatever his last name is sent me an email banning me from the property. Wish I could attach her emails here. So if this sounds like the kind of place you feel will advamce your spiritual growth then go for it. Spiritual growth here is like hiking through peanut butter and gratitude is a word that the reverend and the board can spell but that is as far as it goes.

Sunday Services are uplifting and positive with lots to take away and chew on. The music is terrific! The readings and poetry are fantastic as well. Dr. Jonathan is a fantastic guide and he and the board really shepherd the community mindfully, with many opportunities to participate, join in, and gather in different capacities.

Immediately after a session I'm in a much calmer state and this is with me entering in at a high level of panic & despair. Later into the evening I notice more improvement and by the following day my mental and spiritual state resumes to an even higher level of functioning than my normal. At first I wasn't sure if hypnosis would work especially when instructed to visualize because imagery is not a strong point of mine but each time I've been pleasantly impressed at how I enter a deep state of relaxation so much so that my head falls and a couple times I woke myself up snoring. I've also had a handful of sessions with Halen the hands on energy healer at Inner Soundness and strongly recommend her services as well. These two ladies I'll forever be grateful for, they were able to rapidly pull me out of some really dark times and I appreciate how they've been able to fit me in for short notice appointments. Although I now live overseas, I'm relieved to know I can still utilize their services via virtual appointment. Melove and Halen are the real deal! If you're looking for rapid relief therapy or a means for self improvement I highly recommend booking a consult at Inner Soundness **MANY** thanks for all yalls help!!

I've had a lot of challenges come up recently, and I have been able to shift my mind to a more productive mentality with minimal effort. I can't wait to see what the future has in store! Melove is an absolutely joy to work with. I immediately felt comfortable in her presence, which is saying something because I am no stranger to social anxiety! In hypnosis, I was able to achieve a state of peace and relaxation I have never felt to that degree. She is a natural at this.. this is her gift that she has lovingly developed to help others. I am already thankful for everything she's helped me accomplish, and I look forward to continuing to work with her.
