First time eating here... The salsa came out the service has been great so far... the salsa... you can taste the flavor of rotten tomatoes... I grew up farming so this smell and flavor has stuck with me. Fresh vegetables for the salsa are a must... I asked for a fresh bowl of salsa with fresh tomatoes. They brought out another bowl of salsa again with rotten tomatoes. However overloaded with chilis, jalapeños and cilantro to attempt to mask the rotten tomatoes. The second round of salsa was just as bad as the first. But extremely spicy. We went for lunch before leaving town and while it was good, it was just ok. The salsa had decent flavor but needed to be a little chunkier. It was more of a tomato sauce consistency. The chips were warm and fresh though. I ordered the seafood relleno and it had crawfish and shrimp. The downfall was that it was coated in just this scrambled egg wash. No flour or breading. Just looked like a crepe with a chili inside. I picked it off because it was such a wierd taste. The rice and beans were pretty bland. But the crawfish inside did taste good. It just was that egg I can't get over. My husband ordered the sizzling burrito which is a fajita burrito. It tasted good but needed more meat. Stick with vegetables, they are yummy. The chips are crisp, and the hand patted burger looked nice my friend had but the others were disappointed. Pico de Gallo had diced tomatoes, onion, jalapeno but no cilantro. Rice was good but cold. The server was very nice and the interior of the restaurant is comfortable. read more

I was pleasantly surprised to see this place opened. I used to go to Cabo Rios. I love mexican food and I enjoyed my meal here. The food had good portions and for the healthy type, you can get a good portion of veggies with your protein also. I ordered the Fajitas Trio. It was great. Plenty of veggies as well as good portions of Chicken, Steak and Shrimp. Service was prompt and everyone was smiling while working. read more

I'm honestly not a huge fan of Mexican food, but this place really wowed me! The chips and salsa they bring to your table are always delicious, warm, and clearly fresh! My family got some of their queso as well, and it had the perfect bit of kick to it! I ordered the chicken enchiladas with fries on the side (because hey, I love fries) and even though I didn't like the enchiladas (nothing the restaurant did bad, I just thought I'd try something new and it didn't work out for me), the fries were amazing. Our waitress was amazing! She stayed on top of everything, and clearly had experience with picky eaters. She made sure to ask my baby brother if he wanted everything on the taco salad he ordered (he didn't, but has anxiety about ordering and hates being a bother so probably wouldn't have said anything about that on his own), and was super kind. She also stayed on top of refills the whole time we dined here! The atmosphere was great, I loved the food, and the waitress did amazing! We had a late lunch at Sombrero ' s while visiting in Alexandria. There was not a wait for a table, the hostess was cordial as we requested a booth rather than a table. Our waitress lacked interpersonal skills necessary to consider our service pleasant. We are a well spoken group and the girl pretended not to hear our orders. It was a bit odd. We ordered several different items and an appetizer. The chips were a hint stale. Our lunches were below par. The grilled vegetables with the shrimp tacos were limp and flavorless. Shrimp was dried out. Chicken was way overcooked and had zero flavor. We had to ask another waitress for refills on drinks as our introverted waitress disappeared. We won't go back on our next trip. The food is hit or miss. Sometimes it's great, sometimes not. The service however is horrible. Every time we go there something happens. This last time.... When our son spilled a drink (tea everywhere) there was the server with our food. He didn't hesitate to start setting stuff on the table flooded with tea while we were panicking to try and clean up. I had to run and find napkins as our server was taking a long time to get some. Granted, servers are busy people, I know, but he was there when it happened. Well this was my go to place for Mexican food and Drink, but no more. I will not be back and I will tell everyone I know not to ever go there. I went in there to get a premium top shelf Maragrita, well I found out that they use cheap tequila(Suarez ) not Patron or another premium tequila with cheap mix. I requested a top shelf with fresh lime Cointreau no sweet and sour mix. My drink came to me so sweet I could not drink it. When I got my bill they charged me 15 dollars yes I said that right 15 dollars for a nasty poorly made drink! The worst drinks in town!!! Food was mediocre at best. Service wasn't very good. We asked to sit on the patio and after the initial drink order we were forgotten. We had to ask for drink refills and chip refills. I was relatively happy with the fajitas I ordered because it was a better quality of meat than your typical fajita beef but there was absolutely no fajita seasoning added!! We're talking maybe 7 minutes max for your order to arrive, even when it is busy. Food is hot, temperature wise, and comes out quick. Their carne asada platter rivals "Surf Taco" in southern california. Burritos are good, too. None of my family ever complains or doesn't clean their plates, here! Prices range from $10 a plate to $25 a plate, but the quality of food is the best in town as far as mexican restaurants go. Be aware that the chuck-e-cheese next door says they'll tow your car if you're not a customer, so try to go earlier in the evening if you can, to find parking easier.
