Well it smelled so good I had to go ahead and try the falafel sampler on the way home . WOW !!! It was so good and the hummus was great . It was smooth and creamy and had a great flavor. The falafel had a great crunch and spiced just right. The beef tenderloin plate with hummus and pita bread was delicious also. Then look out here comes the chicken over rice with the house sauce and spicy shiracha sauce (spicy) . It also comes with a salad and pita bread. It was good and the chicken was tender . Love the long grain rice it was served with. The lady that took my order was so nice and polite and helped me decide on the menu items and what I ordered. So I'm soooooooooo suggesting that yall go by and try this place out. I will definitely go by again or even take a road trip to visit them again!!!

He was not someone with a scowl on his face, who hated his job, and couldn't care less about what I wanted to order. That alone was a big plus. My next reaction was the menu which was well presented, and didn't require me to have a "Phd in physics" to understand. I ordered a fried shrimp platter & a fried crawfish tail platter, both of which are my "go-to" items when I first visit a "new" seafood restaurant. The shrimp were large, very fresh, deveined cooked to perfection, and were perfectly seasoned to my taste. The crawfish were also large and were as perfect as the shrimp. The surprise were the french fries which appeared to be coated in flour or fish fry. They were freshly-cut potatoes that were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Another extra touch was the "dipping sauce" which seemed to be a mayo, Catsup aioli with a hint of "crab boil" flavoring which was amazing. It is so good I saved some to use as a salad dressing. Lagniappe consisted of a small fried crab cake that made my New Orleans bred taste buds dance with delight. I am very pleased with this meal. There is no doubt that I will add the "Truly Cajun Market" to my once-a-week takeout restaurants. My next order will be the "Combination Plate" which is very similar to a New Orleans Seafood Platter. As for price, this is not fast food, this is 'sit-in" gourmet-style epicurean treat worthy of the cost. Highly Recommended.

Upon being seated, guests are presented with a simple yet genuinely authentic menu. The flavors remain consistently exceptional, a quality I believe is essential for any restaurant hoping to thrive in Alexandria. Caro's is far from the typical, run-of-the-mill Mexican restaurant where meals are hastily assembled from a hot line and served with an inflated price tag. Instead, each dish reflects care, authenticity, and craftsmanship. Complementing the cuisine, the staff and atmosphere provide an added layer of warmth and charm. The establishment also features a small shop offering imported goods, further enhancing the overall experience. I strive for honesty and objectivity in my reviews, and I rarely award a full five stars. However, Caro's is an exception. This assessment is not based on a handful of visits but on years of consistently outstanding dining experiences. If I were to choose a single word to describe Caro's, it would be authentic. This restaurant exemplifies what true, heartfelt Mexican cuisine should be.

Service was great and the little restaurant had an authentic feel but the food just wasn't flavored. I got the chicken fajita salad, my husband got a pork dish, and my daughter ordered a steak fajita quesadilla. The only positive about the food was the steak, it was tender and delicious but had a more 'philly cheese steak' flavor than Spanish.
