I remember being fascinated by the plumbing setup in that store. There was basically a network of plumbing under your feet. I think the new store is by appointment only and I've been there a few times. It's worth the phone call and personal attention. Call to confirm this though, I am not 100% sure. I consider myself well-versed in the hobby but that doesn't mean I don't need a hand from time-to-time and it certainly doesn't mean I know everything. Some of my coral wasn't looking so good and I just wanted someone to take a look and offer their opinion. Downs did just that. I called Downs at noon on a Friday and they were booked for the day but he still stopped by at the end of the day to help out. I figured I wouldn't see anyone for at least a few days, never mind same-day. He was concerned that if we waited to long I might lose a few pieces and he didn't want that to happen. Downs is a really good guy. Doesn't try to shove products down your throat or his methods. This hobby definitely isn't a one-size-fits-all and he understands that. While I don't think he agreed with all of my methods, he considers them and works around them. While I enjoy doing my own water-changes and maintaining my own tank, I will definitely have Downs by once a month just to look things over. One other important thing to mention and this may or may not be important to most people. With babies and kids in the house, we take our shoes off. As soon as Downs walked in, he took his shoes off before I even had to ask. Now imagine having them service your tank(s)? Drop-clothes, plastic, I am sure they are meticulous. I know this stuff. You will walk out of that with an absolute gem for your POND and it's a fun experience. I sent my sister with her kids.. it strange, because they have a huge aquatic waterfall feature in the corner and it's still something that I would pass by because the bushes are shrubs don't exactly spell out "KOI". After a week in my home, I wanted this dog to get a bath so I called around Friday night with no luck on getting an appointment. I began my search Saturday morning as well when google suggested Cozy Pets. It was near my home too. I just knew it was going to be another dead end call but to my surprise they offered to squeeze her in for a bath and nail care if I could get her there lickety-split. The fee was $45. She had a mardi gras themed collar on when I returned to get her. I was very pleased with the overall experience. I had done some homework on this breed (corgi mixed) and the owner gave me some additional education. We agreed to have her groomed for a smaller rate bi-weekly for the duration of her stay in NY. I booked her next two appointments right there on the spot. PROS & CONS: They accept CASH ONLY at this establishment. In this day and age that's an inconvenience. However, for your convenience, they have an ATM next to the front desk ( small fee per use of course). No waiting area. More of a drop off and pickup atmosphere (maybe common in this field, I'm a newbie what do I know?) ONE STOP SHOP for accessories, food, treats, toys, clothing, etc. Pricing is $- $$. Visit the shopping cart for special sale items. Overall I give Cozy Pets 4 STARS for our initial visit. I do hope the good service continues.
