I am 68 with chronic lower back and neck pain, and I am absolutely shocked at the results of my 90-minute whole-body therapeutic massage with Megan. The spa itself was modern, bright, and clean, while the massage room was quiet, dim, and welcoming.The work Megan did on my neck and shoulders gave me relief and a range of motion I didn't believe was possible. I had a GC for a therapeutic massage, so that's why I went. The GC was almost 2 years old, but they honored it without a blink of an eye, so I was happy. I've been there twice now for massages. I wanted to make sure I went more than once before I gave a review. I found the vibe to be "stuffy", not "calming" when I entered. The gentleman at the desk is abrupt and business-minded - not warm or inviting. I wasn't immediately acknowledged or greeted when I arrived, and when I was acknowledged it was transactional. I had Jamie for my therapeutic massage. She was welcoming and nice and asked some initial questions about pressure preferences, any pain points, areas I would like concentrated on or avoided. I made me feel comfortable. The room was calming, with muted lights and soft music. Very soothing. When Jamie started, she checked with me to make sure the pressure was good - would I like more or less, etc., but she wasn't overly chatty, which I liked. It was an hour massage and Jamie did not skimp at all. I was very pleased. When I returned to the desk after the massage, the gentleman just told me I was all set. He didn't ask if I enjoyed the massage and didn't ask if I would like to schedule another. I had to ask if I could book another massage with Jamie. It felt like I was bothering or interrupting him. I booked another massage in a month. I was surprised that I continued to feel better for many days post-massage. I didn't expect the effects to last as long as they did. Very old decor and building is run down- this does not give spa vibe rather when you walk in you feel more like it is an Italian restaurant. The furniture looks like someone bought it in 1980 and it had been used and used ever since. Cathy is phenomenal and helps make the experience so pleasurable. I recommend the Dazzle Dry for a few extra dollars - your nails will be dry in 5 minutes! Absolutely amazing from start to finish. Got a mani pedi, 45 minute massage, and a brow wax here and it was to first time I've ever felt like I was in an actual spa and not just a nail and hair salon. Super friendly and helpful staff even though I messed up my start time and they had to do some re-arranging. I had received the spa package for my birthday. I was a little nervous to go. I'm not sure how the vibe would be in there. As soon as I got there I was very comfortable. Everyone was very friendly and my stylist , Lorraine,was awesome. I couldn't have asked for a better hairstylist, she listened to what I wanted for my hair and made it happen, and I could not be happier. The whole process took a few hours which is custom for what I was having done and I had such a good time. I can't wait to go back in six weeks to have a touch up very very happy with their service and the results. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

How absolutely absurd is it that this place charges for nail polish, but yet doesn't disclose that until a person is at the register. I bought my wife a $300 gift certificate for a Mother/Daughter day. At the end of everything my wife goes to give the give certificate and they charged $31 for mail polish, are you kidding me? The $300+ spent in a gift certificate for a package which includes a manicure doesn't cover nail polish that cost you next to nothing? So to top that all off, as I said you're not told till the end but during the appointment they put my wife and daughter(9 y/o) in separate rooms. By the time my wife came out, my daughter was already out and standing at their "nail bar" with a nail polish picked out, oh probably important to say now that there's different prices for different nail polishes, so now she ends up paying whatever the cost is for the nail polish my daughter picked out, which is whatever but honestly a $300 gift card which includes manicures should cover it and if not it should be fully disclosed and you sure as hell shouldn't let a 9 y/o pick one out without parent knowledge. To top it off the place is extremely dirty, even one of the workers pointed to an area and said it hasn't been cleaned in years and sure enough it looked disgusting according to both my daughter and wife. The aesthetician has no clue about their own products. The Nail tech was extremely dirty, hair looked like it hadn't been washed in a week, she was covered in fur. Staff wasn't very inviting at all after arriving on time for their appointment they sat waiting for 20 minutes while the employees stood gossiping with each other. I am highly disappointed after spending that much money, I was hoping my wife and kid would receive top notch service from a top notch spa. I could have saved a ton and sent them to a nail salon in the mall where they would have been treated better, the place would be clean and nail polish for an already paid manicure would be extra. read more

Went for a signature facial and signature body treatment in late March 2023. Before going, there was difficulty scheduling. I was supposed to go with a friend but there was no time in the next 6 weeks for us to go together. However I was fine going alone. Friendly staff upon arrival. Lockers are in a single bathroom, which was kind of weird. I got changed into a very comfy robe, but unfortunately the plastic "slippers" were uncomfortable. Then I waited for my treatments. The waiting room was a little cold. It also would have been nice to have water while waiting but that was the least of my concerns. I had to fill out a lot of paperwork with redundant questions. I don't even think the staff looked at it. I did wait longer than my scheduled appointment -- 3:37 for a 3:30 appointment. First was the body treatment. This was supposed to be 90 minutes. I remember seeing a clock when entering the room (3:37). The massage table was cold (turned off) and the provider did try to warm it up, but I think the table was broken. I received maybe 10 minutes of a brush and body scrub. It felt very rushed. The provider was breathing very heavy over the sound of the relaxing music. Also, the table was lined with a larger plastic bag and every time she moved around, I heard the crinkling plastic. Not very relaxing. After, I was wrapped in what felt like a body bag and was told to "meld" for maybe 20 minutes. Basically sitting on a cold table with body scrub on me. Next, I was taken downstairs to shower and re-robe. The shower had pink mold in it. This took maybe 10 minutes. After which I went back upstairs for the remainder of the treatment, a massage! The massage was good (probably about 30 min), but when I was told we were done, it was only 4:47, meaning the total services lasted 70 minutes even though it was supposed to go for 90! Next, I waited for my facial. It was a long wait but probably because my massage ended too early. The facial was great. I have no complaints there and hence I gave the review a few stars. I would liked to have seen more extraction on my face but it was my first facial, so I was pleased. This lasted the full time. I had to ask the front desk what treatment I scheduled because I was generally puzzled about the timing of the body treatment. After some conversation , I was told the body treatment may have been a bit shorter because "they schedule in time for changing and showering". That may be the case but seeing as I already took 10 minutes to shower and change, that means that 30 (THIRTY!!!??) minutes was built in for this. That's really hard to believe and if so, I think that needs to be changed. I was given 15% off on the body treatment but this still cost over $100 and was absolutely not worth it. In total I spent close to $200 for the services, most of which was waiting around. I really hate to complain but I was thoroughly disappointed. I also drove a long way because I heard good things but apparently I heard wrong. Not recommended. read more

My first time visiting, I got the "red carpet" package. The Good: My massage was relaxing and effective, the facial was nice, the atmosphere is lovely, and the staff are all very kind. The Bad: I paid $15 extra for a "long lasting" and quick drying nail polish, which began chipping off all of my nails less than 24 hours later. I didn't mind paying extra for a better product, but a $15 upcharge is outrageous for something that is not an improvement over the quick dry polish I have at home. Overall I enjoyed the experience, and I would definitely return for another massage. read more

Please be aware that not all of the staff administering services are vaccinated. Because you are often in a small room with only the staff person and unmasked to receive the services, it is important to ask the staff if they are vaccinated and if not, they should be wearing a mask. While I thought the services received were quite good, it would have been nice for the staff to be upfront and forthcoming about vaccination status. This place is okay for a massage or a manicure, but avoid the waxing services. I arrived and checked in 5 minutes early for an appointment to have a whole leg wax treatment. I was surprised that nearly 10 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start I still had not been called in. I had never had to wait so long for an appointment before, but had never been for a wax, so I wasn't sure if the wait was typical of that service. A few minutes later I got a phone call from Somers Day Spa on my cell phone. I looked at the people from the front desk and asked "Is someone from here calling me right now?" Apparently they had never checked me in on their system. When they took me to the waxing room the esthetician told me that because we started the appointment late they wouldn't be able to do the whole leg. Wait a minute- I was here on time, so I wasn't quite sure why this was my fault? Either way, I let it go and we decided to just do my calves and knees. I was APPALLED at how bad the treatment came out. I know sometimes with a first wax treatment it can be spotty, but the esthetician straight up missed patches all over my legs. I ended up going home and shaving because it was so noticeable. I'm embarrassed I paid for such terrible service. They told me they would offer a 10% discount on the service, but rang me up the regular price, and at that point I just wanted out. The next day I returned as I had an appointment for a Brazilian (I was hoping the leg waxing was a fluke, otherwise I would have canceled). Again, I know with first time waxing the hair grows in different cycles and it's not perfect. But again this time there were several spots that were straight up missed completely. I remember thinking "I can't believe people pay this to come out so bad." Needless to say, the next time I decided to give waxing a shot (which was nearly 6 months later) I stuck to place that specializes in wax hair removal and the difference in the experience was night and day. I am a firm believer in waxing now.... just not at the Somers Day Spa. Chrissy did an amazing job adding hair extensions for my daughter. She helped her pick out two colors for a better blended highlight/balayage effect my daughter wanted. She did it with extreme precision and planning for the most natural look. She is certified in the process, and we knew we could trust her as she's made my daughter's hair look amazing before! I went with 2 friends for their "margarita" pedicure. It was such a disappointment! Basically an overpriced basic pedicure with nothing special. We arrived on time but were taken into the pedicure room 10 minutes late. The margarita was from a premade bottle and disgusting. For $65 I expect to get a decent leg and foot massage but ours each lasted about a minute. A $65 spa pedicure from any other nail salon is 1000x better. At the end we were rushed out because the next group was waiting. Absolute waste of money. First and last time at Somers Day Spa. read more

I will not go back to this place! I got a Brazilian wax done with them and the lady who waxed me did a TERRIBLE job. She left so much hair that should have been taken off. She was not even gentle especially in a delicate place like this. She seemed like she was in a rush to finish. For the price paid, it should have definitely been done a lot better. I've been here a few times and each time I had a lack luster experience. I never book there on my own accord, I always get gift cards or surprised from my Husband. The receptionists are not very friendly - just a lots of rushing around and huffing with frustration it seems. Not sure if it's due to clients or because they're busy and seemingly understaffed? No idea. But there was zero warm greeting and barely any eye contact. One of them did take my coat though. So, win? Was checked in and told to have a seat. I know they have a "quiet room" but was never invited to use it. Massage rooms are ALWAYS freezing cold. Too cold to enjoy and relax during the massages. The masseuse was sweet though. I needed a massage badly while visiting from out of town, and my entire experience with Somers Day Spa was fantastic. The lady on the phone did a great job explaining their policies (check-in time, tipping) very clearly. Rachel made sure to understand exactly what I needed, and gave the best massage I've ever had, and I've been getting them for years. She focused on the areas that were tight, answered my questions (and followed my lead on conversation!), and showed me some stretches I could do when I left. With a relaxing atmosphere and friendly attendants, it is no surprise that the Somers Day Spa is one of my favorite spas. Over the last five or so years I've had a variety of services done to me and I've enjoyed them all. As soon as I walk into the building, I am immediately relaxed just by the gorgeous atmosphere. The staff is amazingly kind and helpful. My only complaint is about the facial I got here about a year ago. They ask you to take off your clothes for it. This wouldn't have been a problem had the room not been so chilly. Next time, I'm jut going to keep them on! Otherwise, my facial was great and my aesthetician was very attentive and helpful. Price wise, they are kind of expensive but I think it is totally worth it! I treat myself here a few times a year. I also like getting the packages that have gratuity already included so I don't have to worry about that. I would recommend getting a hot stone massage here. It's the best I've ever had and by the end, my entire body felt like jelly. It's not cheap but it's also not ridiculously expensive as well. read more

I have been going to Somers Day Spa for spray tanning for a few years now. Service is great, they can always work around my schedule, and the prices are reasonable. You can strip down to your birthday suit or wear underwear. It lasts over a week if you keep applying moisturizer. I feel as though the place is a no judgement zone. I am a fan! read more

I'm a big fan of Somers Day Spa. It's the best spa around the area by far. I get my hair done here regularly by Amy who is the best! I also get waxing regularly and have had massages and facials. I can't give it five stars because it is a small local spa, no sauna and no pools or anything fancy like that. Prices are decent as the services are always professional and well done. Those were just my INitial reactions . tHEN I had eyelash extensions done with Kristen and it took 2 hours ..when I've had gorgeous lashes elsewhere in an hour...also you could barely notice them! And I paid like 400$...wtf?! I called the owner and she wasn't helpful at all and actually said I should have asked for thicker lashes...funny because I mentioned when I made the appointed that I wanted dramatic lashes. I have gone there for just a pedicure and it was fine, but whenever my neighbor had a face treatment there, I could not believe the scars that were left on her cheeks. Looking into it, they have had alot of complaints about this and still offer the service.. I was excited to get a massage because its been about a year. I choose this spa because it was not to far away from me. I left there annoyed. First off, I was told to come in 15 minutes early to fill out paper work. So I got there at 145 for my 200 appointment. I did not see the massage therapist until 215. A half hour wasted. Then I had to ask my therapist, Ian, not to massage so hard over five times. I couldn't relax because I was stressed out about if he was going to put too much pressure again and hurt me. I was very frustrated at the end of whole experience. Would not go again. I need another massage just to relax from the terrible massage I had today. Worst massage of my life. Somers Day Spa is a very impressive establishment - I have been here several times for waxing and botox treatments and the staff is wonderful and professional. In regards to waxing, Kirsten does an amazing job with my eyebrows; she is able to clean them up without looking too "feminine". I have seen the owner, Laura a few times for my botox treatments - she cares about the work that she does and asks you to contact her a few days after the treatment to make sure everything looks alright; I went in for a touch-up today from my last treatment and she saw me without a charge.
