Our son is thriving under the care of Ms. Roasa, a loving, structured, and incredibly responsive teacher who goes above and beyond to communicate with parents and challenge every student to reach their full potential. Her dedication to both academic and personal growth is inspiring. The entire school reflects this same level of excellence. The administrators are highly qualified, supportive, and effective in their roles. There is a clear structure across the campus that emphasizes discipline and respect--lessons that may be tough for young children at first, but are handled with such care and consistency by the staff that they become second nature over time. Both students and parents are held to high standards, which is something I find incredibly refreshing in today's educational landscape. Compared to our experience in a traditional public school district, the difference has been night and day. At previous schools, we often saw a lack of discipline and respect, and far too quickly, some students were labeled or given diagnoses to explain behavior rather than working to understand and improve the root cause. At Founders, it's clear that they invest in every child's growth in a meaningful way. Since transitioning to Founders, we've seen remarkable changes in our son--improved grades, better self-control, increased responsibility, and a newfound sense of discipline. The curriculum is high-level, even at the lower grade levels, and challenges students in all the right ways. Unlike many public schools that "teach to the test," Founders builds its lessons thoughtfully, ensuring students not only succeed on standardized tests but also gain a deeper, richer understanding of material that's often overlooked elsewhere. I'm amazed at the things my young son comes home having learned--topics I never encountered until much later in school. The campus itself is beautiful and well-maintained, and the classrooms are purposefully arranged to support focused and effective learning. Our kids have been at SPX for 4 years now and plan to continue a few more years through 8th grade. The school has been fantastic for the kids and the family. They have great educators and administrators and strong ties with the church and parish community. They have a new and growing early child development center daycare that looks great. I've heard nothing but good things though my kids did not participate in that. CYO (archdiocese sports league mainly for elementary age kids) is very popular and is very active with lots of great volunteer coaches. It's open to all the community. Our kids loved CYO when they were in elementary and it really helped build community with kids and parents. The gym is top notch as is the softball / soccer field. The school has a lot of electives and activities for the kids to get involved in including but not limited to: art projects, plays, mathletes, RISE, STEM, piano recitals, volunteer opportunities, market day projects, altar serving, stations of the cross, adoration, reconciliation, school Halloween carnival, parish festival, field trips, tours of high schools, athletics, school dances, etc. The PTC does a lot of great things for the teachers and kids through fundraisers (Gala, spirit night, shirt sales, dances, etc.) The Watch DOGS program is active where dads, grandpas, uncles, etc. come and help in classrooms, at lunch, and help make the school day fun and safe. The kids love their teachers and classmates and we couldn't be happier.

The teacher doesn't seem to tolerate my child and speak the truth what's going on behind closed doors, just portray him as a problem when I as a parent took it upon myself to reach out to the office and principal and counselor and receive no help other than him getting negative notes in his folder and all of a sudden, now he's being sent to the office because I mentioned if he was a problem, why hasn't anybody said anything to the front office? I withdrew my child from the school. I have no faith just because they have a cross sitting outside the building do not trust smiley faces. I am disappointed in these adults who are also a grandparents could not help a child of God because they want to keep their image I suppose when we're all supposed to be a community and that picking and choosing who to support and ignore. As an early childhood educator with over 20 years of professional experience, this practice has never been allowed and raises serious health, safety, and licensing concerns. Programs should strive to exceed minimum standards--not settle for what is considered "acceptable" in Texas. This mindset is part of why Texas ranks so low nationally in education. Parents need to pay close attention to these details. Additionally, communication with assistant teachers needs significant improvement. The level of care and oversight from the lead teacher to assistants in the afternoon is lacking and needs immediate attention. After school care providers never seem to know what going on. Get to know your kids, on an individual level, know their needs and pay attention. Toddlers/preschoolers should not be without water especially during snack or meal times.

Communication was constantly a struggle -- I was often called at work about missing items even though I always asked ahead of time if anything was needed. When I did get updates, it was usually last-minute, leaving me scrambling within an hour to fix things. What hurt the most was when my child was hit in the face by another student, and I wasn't told until more than three hours later. No parent should have to find out something like that long after it happens. As a foster parent, I work hard to give my children stability and comfort, but this school made that transition so much harder than it needed to be. I truly hope no other parent has to go through what we did. Please look for a different preschool where your child will be cared for, and where you'll be treated like a valued parent -- not an afterthought.

Northside is a very good district however it is a bit tough to get the best services with them but at least give them a chance to tell you what they can help you with and everything. Whenever I graduated from here at this district I can't be more thankful and more proud of what I've accomplished since Day 1 from coming here. Wendy and Jo do an amazing job behind the scenes. I love that I get weekly emails about everything that's going on at the school and her class. If you are looking for a great school to call home ACORN is the place! They do have a wait list and going on a tour is a must. I recommend going online and check dates for the open house or call.

Bottom line, this school is different, and you are impacted by that as soon as you pull into the driveway. From the playground to the entrance, children are encouraged to play with their hands and truly experience learning. I just had an opportunity to attend a day fully dedicated to father and child (this was one of the most special events)! Thanks to the school and it's leaders/teachers who are so passionate about our children.
