Stopped coming here after a few years after multiple tanks of mine got ick after buying fish from here. Was curious if they have gotten any better and this was what I walked into (a good size puffer dead). The store smells so bad. There was dead fish in almost every tank salt or fresh. Was hoping for a turn around over the years but it seems to have severely declined. Still would not recommend for any fish owners. read more

I expected something better from a store that has been in business for so long... They have reptiles in the back that are riddled with lice. 2 giant leos in a tank together with terrible husbandry. 7-10 leopard geckos in 1 tank that all look like they have crypto. Leos are solitary and they definitely have the means to house them separately but they choose not to. Majority of the tanks have ick. Can't even count the amount of dead fish. One of the tanks looked like it even had fish TB! The store smells horrid and you can tell they do not clean the store or the habitats. If you love reptiles and aquatic animals do not go into this store. I left holding back tears. read more

Something Fishy - This is my Bolivian Ram "Linda" - Pet Stores Near Me - Westland, Michigan

This place is the lowest of the low. Went in and got 6 new fish. 2 red tail sharks, 3 tetras and 1 sucker. Spent 100 dollars on all fish and necessities to come home to have a beautiful full tank. Little did we know all of them were dead within 5 days. 1 tetra is now laying on the floor of the tank barely living and the one red tail shark is kinda ok. Now for the ones that died!!!! The sucker looks like it rotted from the outside in, the one red tail shark looked like he had swimming bladder problems, and the other 2 tetras looks like it was also rotting. Just wanted to say that the store told us they were all healthy and that they would most likely be compatible. Well they're not healthy, there is dead fish in most of their tanks and the water looks disgusting. They told us it's our water and that we had a change in water even though we have made sure our water is clean and test it everyday. It's clear btw and our tank looks clean. So whatever the stores issues are I hope they figure them out quick. read more

This was a terrible experience. There were at least 20 dead fish in different tanks and multiple suffering fish. There's no way they didn't notice. It only takes a minute to remove a dead fish. One salt water fish must have been sitting in there for days. The tanks look dirty like they just gave up. Not one employee approached us for help and at this point I am happy they didn't. read more

This doesn't directly have to do with selling a specific item, I just felt the need to share what I experienced at a store I visited for the first time here in metro Detroit. I'm incredibly disgusted and angry at the conditions of the tanks and high number of dead and rotting fish in nearly every tank, along with their bettas being in less than 4 ounces of water. Filthy conditions. Diseases in plain view. I'm fuming. There is simply NO excuse for such lack of care and laziness. Not to mention the conditions of their hamsters and reptiles too. I'm HORRIFIED. The tanks looks like they haven't been cleaned in years, and fish rotting for days or weeks still inside. Infections and disease clear as day. I wish I could do something else about it. I'll never support this business or visit again. Store is "Something Fishy", how ironic of their name to be that. PETA should get this place shut down or punished. If you look at the bettas, they have visible ammonia burns on their skin due to the horrible conditions of the bags. There's enough oxygen to last them less than a day if you calculate. F this store and whoever owns it and permits this treatment. read more

Excellent LFS. I was impressed with the variety of African Cichlids. They carry fish that you can't find in other pet stores. The prices are excellent also. I picked up a Ugandan Fire Hap and a Pundamilia nyererei. read more

I had a problem with my Fx6 canister. I called and Brandon said bring it in and he would look at it. He disassembled it and showed me how sand was all in the impeller. He cleaned it out, plugged it in and Voila! It worked. Thanks so much Brandon for your help!!!!!!!! read more

This store has lost my trust. We went in Their just the other day and bought about 6 fish which the owner said were all in good health and everything but when we got home my fish were acting weird and I know it wasnt the water or amything because we did everything step by step just to make sure everything was right but the next day came and one of our bramd mew sucker fish just up and died. Then a few minutez go by amd we notice this long curly thing hanging from our fish. Little did we know that our fish has parasites and red spots growing all over the other fish just like it. read more

Infected fish!!! I bought some fish there. I brought them home and was about to put them in the tank when I noticed they were bleeding from the fins. I had the furnace man coming to the house so returned them about two hours later. I told the guy they were infected and I would like a rebate. The guy went to the back and came back with the owner. The owner started yelling and screaming at me and said that the clerk said that the other fish bit the fish I was returning. We just stood there shocked. I told them that I never even took them out of the bag. The owner refused to give me back my money. He was obviously unbalanced and having some issues. He also had to make a scene in front of the other customers. I never went back there and blogged all our friends not to shop there. Very hot headed people work there. read more

I think this pet store is good. There is a large portion ( pretty much most) of the store filled pets (as a pet store should be) Its always clean (been stopping in there for over 20 yrs) The staff is very knowledgeable. My daughter loves it to. Highly recommended.. read more

Sometimes pricey but has the best stuff and rare stuff.... If not they can get it and great customer service.
