The online signup is easy to navigate and straighforward. Point. Click. Get confirmation via email. Show up and go workout. The trainer, Leon is nice on the eyes but man oh man does his playlist suck! They play better workout music in Old Navy. The other trainer, Stacy works you a lot harder than Leon does. Leon is all about the ladies or maybe the ladies are all about Leon. I guess its not his fault he's so chocolate and cute, blame his mama & daddy and their exceptional Jamaican dna. Either way, the workout is way more intense, & there's way more direct instruction and less distractions when Stacy comes through. When I say rain or shine I mean that I will see you if the sun is shining and/or its not raining. When they say rain or shine they really mean we will be here in the park under the trees, soaking wet, doing pushups and risking electrocution by lightning NO MATTER WHAT. Most of the workout takes place on a mound and its hard working out on a grassy incline. Some of the moves cant really be done effectively or safely on a dirt/grass hill because your feet keep slipping and even moreso when its raining. Maybe this is supposed to add to the resistance (?). All in all the workout is challenging and the instructors are motivating, helpful and not condescending. The class is made up of all women of varying ages, sizes and athletic ability. One woman even brings her little son sometimes. He sits in the back and colors or reads or comes up front and does his own version of the workout so thts cool. I have like a thousand kids so its great to know that I have the option of bringing them with me. *Im not even 100% sure there names are Leon and Stacy but Im sure Im at least pretty close. The only reason I am not giving NYC Adventure Bootcamp five stars is that it is no longer offered in the evenings. I simply cannot make the 5:30am class but would return in a heartbeat if there were other schedule options.

I checked out Infighting Shape after they offered an amazing deal on Groupon. I think it may have been $49 for 10 classes or something like that. I wasn't going to miss out on it. I was sort of meh about the boxing class offered, but the Combat Cardio class sounded very interesting, so I signed up. I'm unsure about the affiliation between Infighting and Complete Body... but the class was at Complete Body and it's a very well-equiped gym. Lots of very fit (and great looking) male trainers... everywhere. And yea, workout stuff too. Distracted again. The class itself is great. I must admit that it seemed a bit disorganized, but I think it was a function of so many newcomers taking advantage of the Groupon. We started out with drills involving wall sits, pushups, and some type of throwing motion with kettle weights. Like, I wanted to give up almost instantly. But the instructor (guy in the pic) has a way of speaking in the right tone to keep you moving and motivated. Next we learned about Olympic lifting and the instructor gave us one and one attention, critiquing our form and providing guidance. Next we did a series of circuits that involved some type of martial arts, mountain climbers, scary jumps onto elevated surfaces, high knees and some motion that I wasn't coordinated enough to do without the instructor snickering at me (lightheartedly, of course). This is definitely not the type of exercise I'm used to. I'm more, laying on a mat in a pilates class doing minimal movements and getting a good workout. This is like tons of lifting and exertion. It was an excellent change of pace. Most of the participants were newcomers and the instructor did a great job of keeping people motivated and being accomodating to varying skill levels. I was sore immediately after the class. Two days later, my arms and back are still sore. The best workout I've gotten in a class setting in a while -- comparable to the aches I feel post a personal training session. Unlike other Groupon fitness deals, I will definitely go back to Infighting Shape!!

They teach you step by step and work to strengthen your weaknesses. The same thing goes for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. You get to recieve individual attention by the teacher himself. They also offer wing chun. All the instructors have years of expierience. The gym also has kids Tae Kwon Do. Boot Camp is also offered in the gym. A great way to stay in shape, at a very affordable cost.

It took them 2 days to get back to me. When someone finally called me back, the man, I believe his name was Joe, yelled at me while a baby was screaming in the background. He tried to explain to me the contract, which was not what I had paid for or agreed to (I'm a lawyer...a contracts lawyer...his explanation was not what the contract was) He offered me store credit, but none of their packages come close to the price I had paid for the deal...He was very unprofessional, rude and I am greatly disappointed. From dealing with him on the phone I would NEVER deal with this company. Groupon refunded my purchase and I'll just have to start looking for a different company to work with. Thank you Groupon! As for Fitness Therapy Bootcamp, I don't need the hassel of a company that doesn't know how to work with someone or wants good customer feedback - I expected a challenging, harsh workout, I didn't expect to be yelled at on a phone call prior to even stepping foot in their establishment.
