To whom it may concern,…read more I reached out to attorney Carol A. Laughbaum regarding my case. She expressed interest initially, but her tone changed once she learned that I am an hourly union employee. Apparently, she finds it more difficult to pursue cases-especially those involving damages-for hourly workers, I was more than willing to compensate her for time to write a letter inquiring about harassment and intimidation by my employer, in the hopes it would stop, Carol made it clear that would tarnish her practice to write a letter without her filing a lawsuit, If you are an hourly employee and belong to a union, I would recommend avoiding this law firm to save both your time and theirs, Thank you

Hi Everyone, I had a bad experience with Attorney Carol Laughbaum. She agreed to take my case and…read moreat the last minute right before the statute of limitations was about to expire she suddenly changed her mind and no longer wanted to file my lawsuit. Despite her being fully aware that I had less than two weeks to pursue in court. At first she acted nice when I spoke to her but then she changed in demeanor and became condescending and dismissive toward me which was concerning. She is unpredictable. My advice is to contact other law firms and have another attorney as a backup if you decide to retain her services. Because it's difficult to get an attorney at the last minute when you have important legal timelines to met. And I won't be able to file my lawsuit because I trusted Carol. I hope this review helps. I was wrongfully Terminated from a job 4 years ago, it takes a lot of patience to get through…read moreMichigan's Procedures. Lots of mail that as a normal human you don't understand. That's why we hire Lawyers. Finally they were sending out a right to sue package which for some reason I did not receive immediately, maybe because over 4 years addresses change or it was sent to wrong home who knows as you do not have to sign for this package proving you received it. Joe from this company left me this Voice mail which I copied from my phone. "Hi Ryan this is Joe Giacalone calling from Bailey law wanted to check in with you and see if the Michigan Department of civil rights had sent him its right to sue letter directly to you we haven't received a copy yet here at Batey law and if you haven't received a copy yet either then I'll just send it up I'll send a request for an update to the Michigan department store right next week about getting a letter out for you" he admits they don't have a copy either. So now as a customer I feel like he's on top of this so I don't have to worry they are the lawyers. Then receive a call from Nicole asking me to check my status on the EEOC until she says it's all good she took care of it. 2 weeks later I receive a letter from Batey law saying it's past my 90 days for the right to sue and even tho I didn't receive the letter it's hard to prove and they cannot help me with that part. I have tried to seek help through them with them basically just saying it's past the 90 days we cannot do anything. I was wrongfully terminated from a company I put 23 years into, it flipped my world upside down and for my family. When you hire a lawyer you expect them to make sure the i's are dotted and the t's are crossed and when they don't then they should at least try to fix it. This is not an office that goes above and beyond by any means. It's hard to sleep knowing that I lost everything because my lawyer wasn't on top of it and expected me to know what was going on. If I would of hired any other company I would not be here writing this review and probably finishing up with court. Do Your due diligence. Ryan Z
