People were a bit confused as to why I was "throwing away money" for a wedding planner that I didn't need. Working with the SJS team over the last year and a half was the most pleasant part of wedding planning! You are easy to get along with, have useful connections in the industry, and above all else: your team is experienced in every way applicable to the day. It's not just the obvious stuff like contracts review, menu planning, music preferences, program schedule, and décor. Sonal J Shah and staff was the first decision I made in my wedding planning journey and it was indeed the best. At first I was almost positive I can plan a wedding on my own but I hired the company because I was going to be a busy resident and my family agreed I might need help. Today after my wedding is over I can confidently say my wedding would not have been at all what it was without their help. I was pretty confident I could handle everything on my own but I did not realize that things do go wrong and sometimes VERY wrong. First off, I had a destination wedding in Miami, which has it own difficulties, but since the company is familiar with destination weddings they were able to assist with everything. Sonal and Ruth worked very hard trying to get all the permits required to close down Collins ave for our baraat. The city of sunny isles required a lot of permitting for various other things such as a stage, fire dancers, fireworks. Sonal and Ruth took care of everything! They would send me emails about updates but I never had to worry about anything. Two weeks before the wedding, as expected, everything started to go wrong. The city was not approving permits and we did not have a stage for our mandap. I was able to focus my time on family that was flying in from all over for my wedding and not worry about permits/stages etc. because Ruth was handling everything. My most vivid memory was 5 days before the wedding I received an email saying the company I rented the baraat Lamborghini from had crashed it. Ruth and the team immediately started searching for another car. I remember walking into Red door spa to get my pre-wedding facial when Ruth called to update me that they have contacted over ten companies and they will find me my car in the color I want and in my price range. I could not believe I was enjoying my facial when there were urgent unresolved matters. It was all because Ruth and the team were on top of it. And just like that, she called me with the good news that they finally found the car for the same price 5 days before the wedding! Day of, Ruth and the team did a great job keeping everything on schedule. Neeti was an amazing bridal attendant. She kept me calm through everything. She is excellent at drapery, which came in handy when my heavy dupatta kept falling off. Ruth quickly picked up on food errors and solved everything quickly. My parents said they felt like they were enjoying the wedding as much as the guests. I can confidently say I would not have been able to handle all the things that went wrong without the help of Sonal, Ruth and the staff. The company was there with me through every moment from vendor referrels and contract negotiations to fixing every obstacle that came our way. I hired SJS as my wedding planners for my wedding which took place back in May of this year. And I can honestly say that this was the smartest decision I have ever made. Sonal was recommended to us by a family friend of my fiancé, and after meeting with her for just 1 hour I already knew I wanted her to be our planner. From the get-go, Sonal was very hands on, proactive and helpful, and really helped us in creating a vision for our wedding. When it comes to décor and catering, we were clueless, but Sonal and Ruth arranged our tastings, hosted multiple calls and even accompanied us to our table showing until we were absolutely satisfied that we had found the right vendors. We dragged our feet because we wanted our final choices to be perfect, but they never made us feel like we were being any trouble. They have a lot of great connections in the industry and were able to provide us with a lot of options for different vendors. We felt like we were Sonal's only clients because of the time and attention she devoted to us - I seriously don't even know when she even sleeps, as she would email me back at all hours of the night so that my questions never went unanswered! Sonal had so much expertise in every single aspect of the planning process that it is really not hard to see why she is the best at what she does. I am probably the most indecisive person in the world, but Sonal's patience and level headedness meant that she didn't mind talking over the potential decisions again and again until we were confident in our choices. Ruth definitely brought us sanity amongst the chaos, as she was so easy to work with. Towards the end I was just ready for the planning to be over and for the wedding to hurry up and arrive, but Sonal gave us the motivational push we needed to keep going and to finalize some last minute details which actually ended up being the magical touches which really made our wedding sparkle. On the day of our wedding Sonal and the SJS team were AMAZING. They literally thought of everything, including so many little details that I never would have picked up on (having a staff member read off family photo groups from the microphone, preparing a plate of food for me and my husband so we could enjoy our time with our guests but actually get the chance to taste our own food, having the bridal suite decorated at the end of the night). My bridal attendant was also fantastic, always thinking of the finer details such as laying out my dress and jewelry to be photographed, or getting me a straw to drink so I wouldn't ruin my lipstick. I really felt like we were so looked after from the beginning of our planning to the end of the wedding itself. We can not thank SJS team enough for all they have done for us. Quite frankly, I did not think we needed a wedding planner. I couldn't have been more wrong. Sonal and her team were incredible.
