No one is ever running to be early to these visits. Mine was no exception and it was choc full of everything these appointments are famous for as well as a few new ones since now we have "age related concerns". I'm not going to lie. There was talk of me rescheduling and never returning. It is with mixed emotions that I say that both Jackie ( the MA) and Dr Lewing were nothing short of ....I honestly can't think of an appropriate word. They both exhibited traits of genuine concern, empathy, a sense of humor when appropriate and a sympathetic word of encouragement when we were all parting ways. Dr Lewing was extremely educational, honest and straightforward with information. Not only will I return without being forced, and I'm certain to never enjoy our visits, I trust them and for that reason as long as I remain a female I'll be a patient

He made me feel comfortable and confident throughout my pregnancy, which is something I am beyond grateful for. When it came time for delivery, my baby had other plans and I ended up needing a C-section. Thankfully, Dr. Nickel had already taken the time to explain everything to me beforehand so that when the moment came, it wasn't scary or rushed. Because of his preparation and clear communication, my C-section went smoothly and I truly could not have asked for a better experience. Leading up to delivery & after delivery I appreciated his check ins, it was nice to see a friendly face around! The nurses and staff at his practice are also absolutely outstanding. They were so kind, attentive, and just wonderful to be around--it really makes all the difference. Nurses and doctors can truly make or break your experience, and I feel so lucky to have had such an amazing team by my side. Truly one of the best. I couldn't have asked for anything more. Dr. Nickel and the nurses made what could have been a stressful situation into something positive and reassuring, and I will always be thankful for the outstanding care I received. They scheduled my initial appointment nearly a month and a half after my call. I waited patiently. Initially, I had a phone consultation for April 6th. They called and asked if I could move the time from 2:00 PM to 10:00 AM, and I happily accommodated them without any issues.My next appointment--an in-person visit--was scheduled for April 14th. We ended up being late because we spent too long searching for a parking spot. At the front desk, we were told that their policy allows a 10-minute grace period; however, we were 15 or 20 minutes late. And that was it. They just rescheduled me for April 28th.I pleaded with them to at least give me a referral for an ultrasound, since I was nearly 13 weeks pregnant and mine was a very high-risk pregnancy--not only due to my age and the fact it was an IVF pregnancy, but because I was carrying twins. The receptionist just stared blankly at me and kept repeating, "I'm sorry, no. We can only issue a referral after your first in-person appointment; you aren't a patient of ours yet." In other words, that initial phone consultation didn't mean a thing. I had gone out of my way to accommodate them when they needed to change a time, yet they simply gave my slot away to someone else. Just great.Here's what happened next: I went to MultiCare Regional Maternal Fetal Medicine Tacoma and asked if they could perform my first-trimester screening. Anyone who has dealt with a high-risk pregnancy--especially with twins--will understand the urgency. If I didn't get that specialized ultrasound done before the 13-week mark, I would miss the window entirely. The head nurse at MultiCare actually called the Rainier Clinic directly and spoke personally with Dr. Maynard to get me a referral. And naturally, they shut me down--I didn't doubt for a second that they would. They reiterated that I wasn't their patient.We decided to arrange a referral through my family doctor instead. But while all the paperwork was being processed, I started having a miscarriage. Great, right?If this clinic had simply seen me on April 14th and scheduled an ultrasound--as they were supposed to--the problem would have been detected immediately. It turned out I had an anembryonic pregnancy, and my body began rejecting it on April 18th. Naturally, I never made it to their "wonderful" appointment on the 28th.Honestly, I have no idea what kind of "magical" waiting lists they have that require a month-and-a-half wait. But now I know for certain: at this clinic, they couldn't care less about their patients. You're late? That's your problem--we have rules. You're nearing a critical deadline for tests? That's your problem, too. You have a high-risk twin pregnancy? WE DON'T GIVE A DAMN--you're not our patient. Yet, when a doctor is late--and they are always late--the patient is expected to sit there meekly and wait.I truly believe that, due to their negligence and indifference, I could have found out about the failed pregnancy two weeks sooner. Ultimately, I transferred to Tacoma General; there, I received prompt assistance and certainly didn't have to wait a month and a half.I was a fool for agreeing to such a long wait in the first place. I won't let that happen again. If a clinic behaves this way right from the start, hang up the phone and choose a different place--there are plenty of others out there.

I really appreciate his comforting demeanor too! He has helped my husband and I through two miscarriages and now a stillbirth where I was induced and had to deliver early. He was very compassionate and understanding that I wanted to have as much of a live and natural birth as possible. He worked really hard to make sure I had all the right information and that things went as smooth and quick as possible because he knew I was worried too about getting back home to my 4 yr old. Finding out our baby had a condition it couldn't survive from, giving birth early and holding him when he was so small was the saddest and hardest experience in our lives but Dr Maynard was very gentle, patient, and present with us giving us time to baptize him and spend as much time as we could with him. He made sure I wouldn't have any troubles after delivery and come back to check on us twice at the hospital and called me from the office the following day to talk about how I was doing, instead of just returning my message on the portal which really helped so much! Throughout the pregnancy whenever there was an urgent need he made the time for me to come in as quickly as possible and always returned messages right away. He is the first male doctor I've had as an adult; I always felt too shy and uncomfortable before but I am truly thankful I found him and can't imagine ever having anyone else. I pray he will continue to be here throughout the rest of my childbearing and menopause years!

We had an incredible experience with Wellspring Midwifery. I had recently had a missed miscarriage…read morewhen I came into their care with my second pregnancy. The midwifery clinic I was previously with for the first pregnancy , told me I could no longer work with them and did not give a reason. Valley medical midwives said they would not work with me because I am overweight and of advanced maternal age. The other midwives clinics in the area said they were full for my due date. Swedish midwives did not take my insurance. When I went to the obgyn, she made me feel like I was wasting her time and I felt rushed during a very tender time. I felt discouraged and decided to widen how far I was willing to travel for care. I reached out to Wellspring Midwifery, and they promptly set up a zoom call where I asked tons of questions, we discussed our experience and they shared info about their practice. I felt so relieved to find them during such a hard time, filled with fear and anxiety. Our first appointment was over an hour and Lizz made me feel so comfortable and heard. It was amazing, they even did Saturday appointments so we didn't have to miss work and the traffic was much better. I met Elliot a few appointments later and she was equally awesome to Lizz! Throughout the process, I had monthly appointments and additionally was able to call for questions or write them in the online portal and they would promptly respond. Later in my pregnancy, we made the informed decision that we would prefer to transfer my care to a hospital so that I could access an epidural during labor and knowing which hospital we were going to. Lizz and Elliot were supportive of this decision and helped with the transition of paperwork. They allowed me to stay on for postpartum care. I even called them during my labor when I was trying to make a decision. It was awesome to have the support of their postpartum care because my obgyn only scheduled me for 1 appointment at 8 weeks postpartum. Lizz and La-Kiesha (their midwifery student who joined many of my appointments) came into my home 2 days after my baby was born and did a visit where we talked about the baby, my husband and myself and did some checks on the baby and me. They also gave me breastfeeding support. I had multiple follow ups in office during the first 6 weeks postpartum. It was so helpful to get regular support throughout that period of time. I am forever grateful for my experience with Wellspring Midwifery and I highly recommend them for your prenatal and postpartum care.

I always joke with my husband that we are going to keep having more kids just so we can keep seeing Dr. Taggart. :)

After a week I called to check on prescription and was told no one would ever provide a prescription w/o first seeing me and that I should get them over the counter plus she said they will be like $100 if they prescibe.... ok whatever.... a week later I get a call that my prescription is in??? Wtf? Worst of all I go to lab corp wait 2 hours after check and the rude woman behind the counter acts like I'm stupid for following the instructions and coming with no paperwork ... almost in tears I call the office at CHI who tells me they will bring the paperwork right over they dont understand why theres this problem... oh and that they have never heard of the lab being so busy (lucky me!) Minutes later they call wondering why I'm not at the lab corp at their hospital.... because they said any lab corp so I'm at the one by my house which I told them! So frustrating.... cancelled everything with them as obviously they dont even know how their own system works and give out misinformation to pregnant ladies.
