I thought I was just going out to eat with some friends last Friday night but little did I know that for the past 6 months, my wife was planning a surprise 40th birthday party for me. On our walk to the restaurant I thought I was going to, we stopped inside Songbird to "find out party information". I was led back to the large back room which was dark and quiet. It was opened for me, the lights were turned on and about 40 of family members and friends that I love yelled SURPRISE!!! For about the next 3 hours, there was singing, laughing, speeches, cake and to be honest, one of my favorite nights of my life. We've been going to Songbird for the last few years now and want so much to keep this amazing place a secret. Songbird is a better alternative and such an upgrade from the karaoke spots in Chinatown. Not only is their price unbeatable, but their rooms are so spacious, so clean, AND they are BYOB (no hard liquor though). You are not allowed to bring your own food, but they do provide food options if you get hungry. Their karaoke interface is easy to navigate. The song list is extensive and reasonably up to date. The place is a little hard to find due to small signage but once you're in it it's very spacious and clean. The rooms were a little stuffy and hot but they were stocked with sanitizer and an air filter which was a great touch. The song selections were limited and many of the songs we wanted weren't available. The screen didn't have original videos or songs so if you don't know the song by heart you will not have any help . We had a fun time and we liked the glow in the dark effect. Some stars were taken away for being interrupted by other people several times during our session bursting in our private room and yelling something obnoxious. Additionally we were about 20 minutes late and were told that they would only grant us a 10 minute extension on our session. So instead of 1 hour we had 50 minutes which I felt was petty since this time included check in, set up and purchasing drinks; we actually only sang about 40 minutes . They weren't packed and we paid for the entire session which isn't cheap! It was my birthday what would it have hurt to allow us an hour of family fun? The staff came in during our session and snatched the iPad away in a very rude manner. For this reason I would not book a party here again. They need to improve customer service. read more

It was such an amazing experience from start to finish, looking for a place to do karaoke my friend stumbled upon Songbird, as many other places were extremely expensive for it seemed like no reason at all, as many of these places had mixed reviews. My experience with Songbird began with their efficient customer service, I must admit I was a little skeptical because nowadays no one is as friendly and efficient anymore, unless it's a scam, or extra strings attached. But the price was in fact the price, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating to our small group. The space was extremely clean and inviting, they offered different size rooms per your group, we had a small room, as it was about 4 of us. My friend gave some special add on to celebrate my birthday which consisted of decorations and snacks. You cannot bring your own food, but Songbird provided options to get food delivered from local establishments which was nice. We had chips and dips and as well as a birthday cake, you can bring cakes, yay (because mine was delicious) The lights are dimmable which was fun and the equipment were sufficient and operable, we didn't need to ask for help once the process was explained to us once by the staff. The song selections were awesome!!! They had some of Everything!! We were encouraged to download the Helsonic app to learn the choices, so I was able to peek at the songs prior to our arrival, which was fun and helped build anticipation! I have no complaints. There was plenty spaces for cute pics to capture the moment. They are very time efficient, so you must arrive on time and end on time, as there are parties scheduled for the space. I'm not sure the minimum and maximum time frame a group could be allotted, but we had 2 hours. Next time we are doing 3 hours easily , lol Songbird is located on a beautiful block with other businesses and places to eat, do it!!! I plan to go back in the next few months. read more

This is probably one of my favorite top small businesses that I've visited in the most recent time. It was my birthday celebration and so very easy to set up online. I reserved a 7 person room, downloaded the app to choose my songs ahead of time, they do have 3 vendors they can pre-order food from (no outside food allowed) and beer & wine is BYO. My package included snacks: popcorn, mini chocolates, pretzels and water. There two mics and they offer covers to keep it germ free. Leather-style seats and a giant screen. There wasnt much room for dancing but they did have larger spaced rooms if you need it. The whole set up was fun, adjustable, welcoming and very cool. Some of my friends who wouldn't normally sing actually did. We had such a blast & would gladly do it again. It isnt only for special events, they have smaller rooms for just going in on a random (reservation set up) weekend. read more

Even yikes in our group who are shy or quiet got up and sang. Music/song selection and ease in locating whatever you are looking for was also a big plus. Best place to have a birthday party. Everything was set up for us when we came in. Since we did the party package soda and water beverages were included sitting in ice to make sure they were cold. I ordered pizza and wings and Songbird was very organized and had it ready right on time for the party. I would definitely recommend people coming here. This was an overall disappointing experience. There was no group greeting or instruction or organization or attention from staff. We were a group of less than 15 in the largest room for 50+ people. It was $125 additionally for snacks and beverages. We had to find someone to add more diet cokes and then they brought in warm soda. The popcorn was stale, bagged popcorn and we also had to ask for additional snacks. As I was walking in the lobby area, another party was also requesting additional drinks. So, it seems to be a problem. The room was great! It had the potential to be a great party! A little instruction and personalized attention from the staff, would have made a huge difference. We love songbird! My family has been there twice so far with a large party (10-12 people). The rooms are spacious and modern with plenty of comfy couches. The staff was very helpful and friendly! We brought our own ciders and wines and the cooler in the room was perfectly sized to fit everything. They have a great selection of songs and give you 2 tambourines and microphones to use. Celebrated my birthday and rented a room that holds max of 7 people - the ambiance is so nice - crystal chandelier in lobby , bathrooms nice and clean and private room decorated like someone's modern family room . We recently had my daughter's 10th birthday party here. Booked the Grand Private Suite which let us have 20 of my daughters friends along with us. The party was a blast. The kids had so much fun, and even the shyest of kids were up singing before the end of the party. When we were ordering our food, the owners helped me from over ordering. The snack/beverage service was excellent. Kids had plenty of snacks and drinks. The staff was quick to refill anything that ran out. And while we didn't need them, it was nice that they had earplugs available. Despite what they think, not every 10 year old is Taylor Swift. And, even with all the screaming, singing and noise making, the noise never left the room. And we never other parties. The area is really nice. A few parents were able to have a lunch date while the kids had an awesome time. We'll be back and I'm pretty sure a few of our kids friends will be booking their party here. read more

Due to the snowstorm the party was moved and they went out of their way to help us. We rented 2 rooms one for the old farts that didn't sing and the actual singing room although both could be used as such. The place was spotless, bright or dark as you want it to be. Food was ordered from Antonio's pizza and wings , excellent. I would have liked more food choices. BYOB beer and wine or hire a licensed bartender which we did. We brough a cake in. Everyone was amazing that worked there especially my panic calls before the expected snowstorm. We recommend this place 100%. We will be going back and I can hardly wait! A+++ read more

Omg you guys. This. Do this now. I have been to Songbird twice. The first time we went, it was the most fun ever. The second time was somehow 100% even more fun. The rooms are very clean, the equipment works perfectly, and the system is easy to use. Extra points for the basket of tambourines. The staff is SO helpful and friendly, I cannot imagine maintaining such a good attitude while being subjected to the horrendous hysterical singing for hours on end. Bless these people. They bring ice buckets, they help you order snacks, they assist you with climate control when you are just steaming and screaming and sweating from literally BUTCHERING Satisfied from Hamilton which no one asked for or wanted to hear. We had my daughter's sweet 16 party at songbird and it was perfect. We had a 3 hour glow party in the large suite and were so happy with everything. They had every song the kids wanted to sign and the setup was great. All we had to do was bring the cupcakes and they provided the decorations and setup and clean up. Went last night with a group. There was 4 of us in a "petite suite" which was all they had available when I booked it a week in advance. They said it could seat 5ppl and I'm sure it could but it was perfect for the 4 of us. Michael was great. As was Mike. They were very informative regarding the tablet and how to operate everything. The experience overall was AMAZING, PHENOMENAL! The reservation process was so easy & I was able to book on the same day. When my party got there, the woman at the front was so nice to explain how to use the system. The system overall was very user friendly compared to other karaoke places I have been to. They also had current songs which was really cool! The place was very clean & well decorated. We reserved the smallest room for 2 hours & that was enough time for a group of 4 people. It was BYOB so we brought a bottle of wine for some good ole liquid courage. Had a great time last night celebrating mom's birthday with a surprise party at Songbird! We had a large party in the Symphony suite with just under 50 people which fit everyone comfortably. The staff made the entire party planning process easy. It was great not having to worry about decorations and transporting food. They take care of it all! All we had to do was bring in beer, wine, and cake! They were helpful in deciding how much food to order for the size of the party. I ended up ordering less than I thought we should and we still had leftovers. They also helped coordinate the surprise so that when my mom arrived so she had no idea we were there until she walked into the room. The karaoke system was very easy to use and we liked that you can connect to it from your smart phone as well. I'm hoping that some of our guests will decide to have parties there in the future so we have an excuse to go back! read more

My teenage daughter had her birthday party at Songbird. Girls who work there(Sara&Paige) were very nice and place was very clean and nicely decorated . The song lists were pretty up to date and quality of all the sound system was great. Overall girls had a great time. The reason I deducted a star is due to the price. It is little pricy to start with and if you added a theme or party package or even some food/drinks, your bill gets big pretty fast. read more
