My husband and I got married at Down Town Club on 7/12/25. We fell in love with the space immediately when we toured it in Spring '24 and booked it immediately! The space is an architectural gem-- you could put nothing in it and it's still absolutely breathtaking. As for the planning process with Cescaphe, it was as easy and breezy as could be. We were planning from afar in TN so everything besides our initial venue tour was done virtually. Devan was our 'concierge' who was able to keep us on track with the timeline and provide recommendations. She was always quick to get us answers to any questions and it was nice to have a dedicated member of their team to correspond with! At the 3-month mark we were handed off to Hannah who was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! If you have the honor of working with her, consider yourself so lucky. She was so responsive and on top of things, and her calming demeanor was perfect for the day of the wedding. Her attention to detail was also incredible. I think she picked up every single little thing I said during our calls. Our maitre d' was Mu who was equally as impressive as Hannah. I don't think my husband or I had an empty glass in our hands the entire night! Which is also the reason why I only made it to the bar once to see Tim, our head bartender, but from what I heard from ALL of our guests, he was great as well. All of our guests raved about the food-- the spread for cocktail hour, the entrees, and the dessert spread. Cescaphe really does have it down to a science! I attended a wedding at the Down Town Club last week for a good friend of mine and I found the event space to be very nice. The Down Town Club is located inside a very large building in Old City and takes up at least one floor. Once you're out of the elevator you are greeted by a giant glass table and a centerpiece. For the wedding, this table was used to hold the place cards, which informed you of the the table you would be seating at. Behind that table is a large hall with a few tables, a bar and some counters, which can be used to plate food and serve horderves. I suppose it could also be used as a simple waiting area. There is also a piano located i that area, which can be used to play some live music. The horderves, which were served were top notch. Some of my favorites included the lamb chops, lobster, shrimp and ravioli. I also loved how they had a full sushi bar along with some other traditional Japanese options including ahi tuna. The dinner and dessert was great as well. The dressing on the salad was very tasty and the filet minion was perfectly done. The dessert options here were out of the world. Mini-cupcakes, cannolis, funnel cake and more were all provided and they were all very delicious. The view of Independence Hall is absolutely spectacular as well. The Ball Room wasn't giant, but it easily held over 200 people without as if the room was, too crowded. The ball room was also quickly transformed from hosting the wedding ceremony towards become a place to hold a fun party. While I didn't use it, valet parking was available, which was a nice touch. Awesome wedding venue all around! The view of Independence Hall can be picture perfect and a great backdrop for your shots. The staff knows what it takes to meet your expectations and proceeds to exceed them in every way. The food is top notch and will leave you full and happy. Be careful because there are some areas in the dining hall where the sound doesn't quite carry as well, however, that wasn't an issue at all once the music started. Bottom line: If you are here as a guest or for your own special event, rest assured you'll have a good time and be taken care of well. read more

Cescaphe out does itself here in the Downtown Club - from the never-ending appetizers - including fresh seafood - lobster tails- oysters, etc.....to the delicious dessert spread and breakfast at the end of the night! Food was fresh and cooked perfectly. Layout and design is perfect. Service was exceptional and always there when you needed them. They work like a well oiled machine, anticipating your every need, and seamlessly fixing any issue that might crop up without fuss. Strongly recommend The Downtown Club Wedding Venue! The Quick: Excellent venue for a wedding! Could not be more beautiful- overlooking the city, great views, service, and the caterers they use are amazing. I had the honor of attending a farewell party for one of the best managers I ever had at a very specific jewelry company which used to be well-respected but has since gone to the dumps. It was nice to know that when this company still had valued its' employees, we would have lavish events at beautiful establishments such as this. Now onto the review of The Downtown Club...I remember I was just a 'junior' at the company, and was rather bright-eyed as the elevator made its way to the top floor where we were all treated equally to an amazing view of the nighttime sky of the city. Quite the sight to behold. From coat-check to the open bar, the service was top notch. I can imagine this would be a lovely venue for a wedding, and it looks from some of the other reviews, people made this wise decision and were just as impressed. A beautiful venue with an amazing view of the Ben Franklin Bridge and surrounding historic areas. One couldn't ask for more as far as a posh place to succumb to the wedding scam which has at best a 50/50 chance of survival in a marital union which begins with lot's o' cash being exchanged (weddings are expensive ) and ends with lot's o' cash exchanged to lawyers and spouses in divorce settlements. When has "love" and "sharing" become a profit center? Sorry, I digressed. The food was a-ok, with lots of apps available in the cocktail room (4 stars), a below par dinner (overcooked and cold 2 stars) served in the banquet room. The speeches and toasts in the banquet room before dinner were inaudible. The echos made it impossible to hear clearly...sound bouncing all over the place from the plaster walls. And, of course, the music made it impossible to have a conversation without screaming. Overall, nothing new here. Enjoy the cocktails, space and view...suckers need to dive into the black hole of marriage ONCE in a lifetime. Might as well do it here. read more

Jaw dropping venue! Celebrated New Year's Eve at this gorgeous place. Event was organized by Dinner En Blanc Philadelphia Team and Cescaphe Event Group. Let me start by saying that every single setting was planned carefully in details. I'm all about the vintage and the classic - so it seemed that this was a perfect venue for my taste. There were three rooms to celebrate ringing in the New Year's in a French themed way. One of them had features of Moulin Rouge where it had a bar, a banquet and a cabaret by the Bearded Ladies. The other one was based on the Palace of Versailles where there were a few tables to sit, another bar and banquet, and an amazing live band. These two rooms had DJs after 12 am until 2am. I don't recall the other room's name but I believe it was the main one as soon as you enter in. I'm missing a couple of other details here for sure.. but honestly, it's too much to even describe. Bottom line, there was the opportunity for one to check out different venues, food and entertainment. They served a variety of culinary French delights. I wish I've had a large stomach to fit in all of the deliciousness that was available. NOTE: I got there hungry! Service was above and beyond outstanding. We had a champagne toast at midnight and enjoyed watching the fireworks at Penn's Landing. This was a themed party and I had a blast - imagine to have a wedding here. Must be the perfect place! I came here for a holiday party the other night. I was stunned by how beautiful the space was. How did I not know this existed? Everything was clean, and beautiful needed minimal decorations to really shine. Service was on-top-of-things, and very kind. The food was beautiful, and delicious, and abundant as Cescaphe has a reputation of doing. The one place where I take away a star is the acoustics. The room has horrible acoustics. It would really behoove them to work some fabric panels onto the tray walls, or work some carpet in... or something? It was really difficult to hear speakers. I could imagine a wedding here to be tricky as the sound bounces around. All in all, if I have a reason to come back here, I'll be there with bells on... but if I were looking for a place to have an event, I'd want somebody to mention this to me... read more

We hosted our wedding with Cescaphe at The Downtown Club this past June 2016. From start to finish our wedding was magical. We worked closely with Kelsey and she was an absolute gem. Very knowledgable and professional. From our first meeting to the moment we left for our honeymoon we were treated like royalty. So many positives: service, space, that view, the food- lots of yummy food, the execution and professionalism. Everything was outstanding. They really have it down to a science. The view of Historical Philadelphia is super spectacular and special. Highly recommend having your ceremony in the main room facing the Windows. It's stunning! The Downtown Club is in a great location and has a really classy feel. You take an elevator to the top floor of a building with stunning views of Independence Hall. It's a really great space. Think crown molding and marble bathrooms. You walk into a long foyer perfect for cocktail hour and large enough for a couple hundred people. I went here for a Sixers event (Go Sixers!) not knowing what to expect. The food was quite good. Carving stations and butlered hors d'oeuvres were available from prime rib to sushi. There was a top shelf open bar and a great staff. Everyone was upbeat and attentive. Then there was a gathering in an event hall off of the long room, which held a couple hundred and had great acoustics. Attended a wedding ceremony here. There was Valet parking, the facilities were great..the food was exceptional!! It was catered by Cescaphe. Amazing how they got the appetizers, entrees and desserts out to over 200 people. Highly recommended Cescaphe! Only negative was that there was a lot of cold air coming into the Ballroom, a lot of the guests went into the other room because it was uncomfortable. read more

Precaution -- ** I had my wedding here so will be biased** I wish I experienced this place as a guest but as a bride that had a wedding here, I hear nothing but compliments on how awesome the food and service was. The venue is owned and managed by Cescaphe and they've been very reputable in the market for their excellent services. My maitre d was Sal and I seriously don't know what I would have done without him! The venue itself is beautiful. It was newly renovated by Cescaphe but still kept the charm of the building. The moldings, high ceilings, chandeliers and marble floors are so beautiful, and the space alone is breath taking. Add the view of historic Philadelphia and the Ben Franklin bridge, superb. The layout of the venue will vary based on how the bride/groom want to hold their wedding. My cocktail hour/dessert room was in the main left side of the room where the bar was (not oak room - separate back cocktail area). The ballroom was where I had my cake cutting and I think it all relies on the DJ to announce each major formality to grab the attention of all of your guest. If I had the opportunity to come back as a guest, I totally would. Looking at the wedding photos, everything looked amazing like a fairy tale. read more

I was here for a wedding -- an amazing, glamorous wedding. The food was amazing. The cocktail hour featured a true international cheese display, brie en croute, a sushi station, a Mexican station, and much, much more. The dinner was just as impressive -- everyone at my table was raving about the food. As a vegetarian, I was especially impressed! Instead of the typical pasta dish they serve to vegetarians at events, they have an actual entree prepared: samosas (kinda... even better, really!) with grilled vegetables. The BIGGEST disappointment we had was finding out that the Downtown Club would cease to exist in the Spring of 2019!.....and I say that in disappointment for all the future nuptials that will not get to experience the beauty of the Club, the skyline at night , and the fantastic food that the Cescaphe Group puts forth. Our coordinator, Jackie, could not have been more helpful or attentive and we were lucky enough to have a young man named Justine assigned to us who took care of our every need. To look down from the 11th floor venue on Independence Mall while the happy couple exchanges vows was amazing. The staff could not have been more attentive or accommodating to special requests. My husband and I went attended a wedding here and it was an amazingly beautiful venue. The architecture is rich and perfect for a wedding reception. The Down Town Club, as least for the wedding, occupied the top floor of this building right across the street from the Liberty Bell. It's a great location, right center in the city with all the excitement going on. Luckily, our wedding including the parking fee and the garage was right next door. As you walk in the lobby make sure to look up and appreciate all the details of the ceiling and the huge Ben Franklin statute in the entrance. We had a tasty cocktail hour overlooking a great view of the city. The butler served food was served with white gloves by friendly staff. The actual reception room was also beautiful and everything was so tastefully done, I'm not sure to credit the venue or the bride for picking it all out. Sometimes at weddings there are seats where you can't hear the speeches but the room here offered a good space to be able to hear without echoes. The music also sounded great and wasn't too crazy bouncing off the walls and making it hard to hear people at your table. There was a dessert room later on with a huge variety of cakes, cookies, and coffee. I think this venue is perfectly classy/elegant for a formal wedding. Our daughter's wedding was this past Saturday (4/18/15) at The Downtown Club, a Cescaphe venue. Our expectations were very high based on word of mouth. We're pleased to report that our experience at the Downtown Club not only met but far exceeded our expectations. The staff was extremely attentive and polished. Many of our guests expressed how extremely impressed they were by the V.I.P treatment they received from the moment they stepped off the elevator and were greeted with a glass of champagne through the cocktail hour and by the attentiveness of the wait staff during dinner. The venue for those who hadn't previewed it (like we had) were blown away by the panoramic view of Olde City Philadelphia. But they appeared to be most impressed by the food. As if the quantity of the offerings at the cocktail hour alone wasn't enough, the quality received universal praise from our guests. The dinner entries that followed were delicious (and in the case of the fillet mignon) perfectly prepared to individual taste. Finally the individual attention that our family received from the maitre d' Rick and our head server Diana was exceptional. Such a beautiful venue. The ballroom we were in sat about ten tables, approximately a hundred people. The bar area had a great view of independence hall and the river. Food was amazing. I had my own wedding at the Downtown Club five years ago and have attended two other events there since then. The staff and the chef at the Downtown Club were nothing short of exceptional in helping me plan and execute an absolutely perfect wedding with a simply wonderful cocktail hour and dinner. My wedding photos bring back all the memories that my husband and I have about this special place. The other events attended there were corporate events and they were also very well done with excellent food and service. On an historical note the location cannot be beat, as the building overlooks Independence Hall and in the evening it is a very beautiful location. This a great place I was a guest at my buddy's wedding. Had valet but I guess the manger or the guy that gives you the ticket was overly aggressive. He made me drive around the block cause I didn't see him. And told me I don't want the valet to drive my car so he told me 20$ for V.I.P which isn't bad. But over all the venue was great!
