Karla was confused on what time to come and came 45 minutes late. I was quoted on a 4-5 hour job and she was there for 2 & 1/2 hours and still charged me full price, it's like her being late gave her a reason to do a subpar job on my house. It would have been fine if the job was done early and it was clean but my tenants were home and the restrooms were still dirty, the kitchen counter top still had food on it, fan blades still had dust on top of them, and the baseboards weren't even touched. If you were looking for someone who is going to get in and out quickly this is probably not the one for you. I don't know about you, but I think being thorough is more important in a housekeeper than being fast. But we have a pretty big house and she did an excellent job on her own. On Wednesday she left a thick white film on the utility-room grout after using the wrong cleaner instead of the vinegar and water she was told to use. She promised to fix it Saturday and never did. Saturday she re-mopped, scrubbed, and the film was still there. She left the same white film on the kitchen bar and backsplash. Mid-job she complained about cat hair and claimed the job "should have been $500." She "cleaned" the guest bathroom but left water spots on the glass and the soap scum I specifically pointed out still there. Her excuse: "The house is old." The shower was remodeled less than ten years ago. She quit early, said she'd come back for the master bedroom, then texted demanding an extra $200. When I refused, she listed unrequested "extras" (washer, behind the fridge, extra scrubbing caused by her own product) while the actual work stayed incomplete. She'll make you feel like she's going above and beyond with extras while disregarding the job she was hired to do. I came home to: 1. AC access panel left open and bent so it no longer closes 2. White film still on the kitchen grout 3. Guest shower still full of soap scum and water spots 4. You claim you were "extremely communicative" about arrival times. You canceled once for being sick, then texted Sunday morning saying noon, then that same night suddenly had another job and pushed it to 11:30 a.m., then showed up at 1 p.m. on Wednesday. That's not communication. That's you being unreliable and late. 2. You said the walkthrough was hard because the house is "extremely dark" and implied I kept it that way so you couldn't see how bad it was. That's pure bullshit. Before you even arrived I opened every window and shutter and turned every single light in every room up to the brightest level. I told you that verbatim during the walkthrough so you could clearly see exactly what you were getting into. You saw it. You quoted $300 after seeing it. Stop rewriting history. 3. Yes, I told you about the previous cleaners. I pointed out how rough they had been on the house and that I didn't want that repeated. That's called protecting the property, not being "ungrateful, micromanaging, or anal." You took a simple request not to damage things and turned it into an attack on my character because you got called out for your own work. 4. The house was built in 1977, not the 1960s. There is normal wear and tear, not the extreme "lots of wear and tear" you're inventing to excuse the fact that you left soap scum, water spots, white film on the grout, streaked floors, and a bent AC access door. You don't get to blame the age of the house for your failure to clean a shower that was remodeled less than ten years ago. 5. You claim you "went above and beyond" and did things not in the estimate. You sanitized a washer no one asked you to touch, changed the plan on the fridge yourself, and scrubbed floors only because you had already ruined the grout with the wrong product. Meanwhile the actual work you were hired and paid to do -- the showers, the floors, the grout, finishing the master bedroom -- stayed incomplete and dirty. Throwing in unrequested extras while failing the job you agreed to is not going above and beyond. It's a distraction tactic. 6. On the vinegar and water: During the walkthrough I specifically asked what products you use and I told you at the beginning to use vinegar and water on the ceramic tile floors. After you left the white film on the utility room grout and promised to fix it, I told you again on Saturday and apologized for not reiterating it louder the first time. You still failed to fix it. Stop pretending you were never told. This review is not falsifying or slanderous. It's an accurate record of the unfinished work, the damage you caused, the white film you left, the soap scum you ignored, the bent door, and the attempt to strong-arm me for another $200 after the fact. You don't get to call me a consumer who will never be happy when the problem is that you didn't do the job you were paid for.
