We came by today to get some slushy's during happy hour. Two of the slushy's were great. The other one did not have much liquid in it. They also attempted to shut happy hour off a few minutes early. It is from 2 to 4 PM and they should honor that if someone comes and specifically asks about it and it still within the two hour time frame. We walked up and ordered and it was clean on the patio. Will come again. We live out of town and typically come when we visit family who live in the neighborhood behind the sonic. read more

I had a doordash to pick up and he was rude telling me to come in the building when my instructions on the app were to go to the stall. then proceeded to be rude saying they don't do that there. We go here often after volleyball practice for slushees. Service and quality varies from day to day, but the employees are typically very friendly. Brenda was especially kind when our slushees took a bit longer than usual to come out, and she whipped them up faster than I would've thought was humanly possible. I'm not one to make much of a fuss but ended up flagging someone down after noticing at least 4 cars that pulled in after us get their food and leave. What has been a fun summer tradition in my family for 15 years is sadly coming to an end. I waited for two slushes, a water and a cup of ice for 15 minutes. I kid you not. Then when I pushed the button to figure out what the problem might be, I was met with a stressed out, snarky Oz behind the button exclaiming "I will be with you in a minute" said in a very non Oz Like, hateful tone. I do not like the Sonic here in Red Bank. They never get the order right? And when they do a lot of the food is overcooked or just doesn't taste right. Don't ever order the popcorn chicken. It's usually hard as a rock. The only things they do right is the onion rings and the tater or tots. Got my order wrong..,,which look like is the one think they do consistently based on the poor reviews.... But when I called back to get the hot dog corrected the manager talked to me like a freaking child "this one time only, we will correct your order but you said the screen was correct"....really?? Then I asked to speak to the manager in person where she was as rude and condescending in person. Now she was maybe 17 or 18 but I still expect some level of customer service from a manager. This location does not have a drive-thru. You must pull in to a stall, which is totally fine. I usually come here to get a drink for me and a snack (corn dog) for my dog as we head over to the laundromat nearby. Staff is super nice and friendly. The past couple of times I've gone there it has taken a long time to get my order. Again, just a drink and a corn dog. At least one of the times, the corn dog was clearly not freshly cooked, so I'm not sure why it took so long. I'm usually not in a hurry on laundry days, so it's not something that really bothers me. I really only go to Sonic for the drinks, specifically the ice. I do love the new app though and it has come in handy for days like these. read more

I've never even only given a business one star the entire time I've reviewed for Yelp. This sonic has a bunch of teens working and there are people outside chatting with friends and inside I can see an open bag of chips and people just hanging out while I have waited over ten minutes just for a drink when there are only two cars in the other stalls. basically if you go here you need to know EXACTLY why you want and say it all VERY QUICKLY or else they'll cut you off and take you to the paying screen. we tried to contact them through the button when we arrived at the paying screen without finished our order and no one answered so we went and paid then eventually a woman picked up and we explained and she said she would have to void our other order but this time she just got our last one thing that we forgot to order and then "hung up" on us. we eventually got everything and the runner (eva) or whatever they're called who run to the call was nice and helpful. food was good also, sonic is just always good. read more

I've been going to this Sonic since about 1979, when I lived 3 blocks away from it. After last night and tonight my wife and I won't return. Twice in a row, we ordered our shakes "extra thick." They must have heard "extra runny, with the smallest amount of whipped cream possible." Tonight the girl forgot the straws, and took off with the shakes. The long version of Edgar Winter's Frankenstein came on and played in its entirety (4 minutes 45 seconds for the curious) and still no shakes or straws, so I laid on the horn until the girl came back out the the goods. Well.....I have mixed feelings about this sonic. There are times where the burgers are fantastic.....but the past few times...pretty bad....like "crunchy meat" bad.... Tonight was an adventure....I ordered two combos with tater-tots, and an order of 2 corndogs. First they were out of tater-tots...and only had enough for 1 order....fine. I decided to get onion rings...as I usually love them. They waived the upcharge for the onion rings which was generous. About 5 minutes after I placed my order and paid with my card...the order taker informs me that they are out of tomatoes....but they were going to throw in the rest of the tots (which was approx half an order more) for free. Again that was very generous and I didn't have a problem with it. They were super busy. They thought to ask me if i needed a drink carrier...which I appreciated because I ALWAYS forget to ask. My order was delivered and off I went...only to get home and realize that the corndogs were not in the bag. I just ended up sharing my over-cooked burger with the one who wanted corndogs. I did call and they knew about the mistake and were really sorry about the experience and agreed to give them to me at another time. I love sonic...I really do...and I am not basing any of the unfortunate events of tonight on my rating...simply because they really did a lot to make my experience good with all that was against them. Today is June 18, 2015, the day Sonic advertised for 1/2 price shakes ALL DAY. They should have advertised "1/2 price shakes before 10pm." I go to this sonic and it was closed by the time I got there. I'm originally from Texas and my sonic back in Texas is not closed before 10:30pm... Especially during the summer months when people and kids are not at work or in school. And I could not find the hours of operation for this specific Sonic location anywhere on the Sonic website (or on yelp for that matter). Someone should post the hours somewhere so people can plan ahead and not drive here and waste their time and gas for nothing. read more

This is fast food at its worse. On a recent visit I ordered a double burger and fries ,well the burger meat must of been per cooked and than keep in a warmer. My burger came barely warm and the bun was not toasted , for a hand crafted burger this is not proper .The fries also must of been pre-cook and keep in a warmer as they were served barely warm too . All I have to say is serve the food hot and fresh and people will be happy...I will not return, there are to many fast food restaurants around that seem to do a better job. I typically have a great experience here HOWEVER tonight totally turned me off to this spot. The guy taking my order had 3 things to listen to. My meal number, substituting tots for fries and upsizing the drink. At the end of the order I realized he added on something I absolutely did not order on top of what I did. Now this isn't a big deal cause pressing buttons is such hard work, I get my food..and EVERYTHING is cold. I realize this diving into it on my way home(I live 10 mins away) and I call to speak with a manager. This manager tells me I can bring it back and when I tell her I'm not turning around may I come in tomorrow with my receipt? She tells me to save the food and receipt. I kid you not. SAVE MY FOOD? You just messed MY order up and you want me to bring back the fast food I just drove 10 minutes to get?! When I voice my frustration she then puts me on hold to get rid of me and never returns. So they messed up my wings which is not a big deal especially when I call back and they say that they will replace them. The problem is when I go back the next day and they refuse to replace them because they can't find my name in their book. They tell me that there's nothing they can do and I should call a 1-800 number. I think that is horrible customer service. Feb. 2 I went to the dayton blvd sonic around 12:15. I placed my order and waited over 20 minutes at the stall. The car hop brought my order out and I asked her why my total was so high (I ordered 2 sonic burgers, 2 classic shakes, a medium chili cheese tot) she repeated my order to me, I then said does the deal on the screen not apply to the burgers and shakes I ordered? She told me I had to ask for that deal when ordering. I asked her if I could get the deal now, it doesn't say that on the screen that you have to say you want that deal, we even sat and waited for the ad to scroll back through so I could show her. She said she would have to go ask her manager. She goes in and comes back out, my manager said we can't apply that deal now. I tell her, well I just want to take the milkshakes off, I wasn't expecting to pay for them. She goes in and comes back out, my manager said we can't take them off. So I handed back the shakes and told her you can keep the whole order. I wasn't rude about any of this, but the manager at this location was not trying to help in the least bit.
