    The Chicken Salad Croissant
    Tim N.

You enter into a broad space with merchandise and tables with a counter of breads and dessert treats. The idea is to order and pay at the counter and to receive a number for your table. We didn't know and went straight to outdoor seating, which worked out because we got a table and about a minute later we figured out the ordering process. I ordered the chicken salad croissant for my wife, then the California club for myself and then I had to order quiche Lorraine for the table. I had filtered tap water for my drink and my wife had a can of Diet Coke with a slice of lemon and ice in a cup, provided. Service was pretty quick, between our order placement and table delivery it was 7 minutes. The quiche was custardy inside with a delicious hint of caramelized shallots to go with the bacon and cheese/egg filling. The bacon did not overwhelm. The crust was perfectly baked and a nice flakey crust. The accompanying arugula and onion salad dresses with oil and vinegar and seasonings was an excellent pairing of freshness with the richer quiche. This is a big hit, as expected when advertised on the menu as "available until sold out." The California Club was on 6 grain toasted bread with an avocado spread and aioli, bacon, turkey, tomato and lettuce. I really liked the balance of each component in this sandwich, such that nothing dominated the flavors and each distinctive was individually identifiable in the contribution to the whole sandwich. The portion was just right. The chicken salad was also good, but was the bronze medal winner compared to the other two. The croissant was flaky, but not too much. The chicken salad had just a hint of lemon and was not overwhelmed with aioli, just the right balance. This was a fantastic meal. We liked this so much, we chose to buy two loaves of bread to go, a Chattanooga Sourdough and a garlic Parmesan and also a 5 lb bag of in house ground bread flour. I need one of these in Greenville, SC, my hometown. Last thing to note, you bus your own table and there is a dish basin nearby the outside dining area in which to place your dishes. This was an excellent lunch spot. The staff were also friendly and patiently helpful. This is a must visit spot when visiting or living in Chattanooga!

I came to Niedlovs twice while in Chattanooga! The club was to die for - for lunch. Then I went for breakfast and had one of the bagels! It has so much flavor and so fresh! I'm only giving 4 stars because both times I had the matcha (one of the times I asked for extra because the first time was basically like drinking milk) and it was still like drinking milk and unbelievably sweet both times. So i definitely wouldn't get the matcha but the food and pastries are very good!

Stopped in because of all of the great reviews I saw about this place. We stopped in a little after they opened on a Saturday morning, and they were already busy. Parking wasn't too bad since we were there so early but there is only a little bit of paid street parking nearby from what I can tell. The woman who took our order was very efficient. We ordered and were able to get our pastries and coffees within 5 minutes. I got a chocolate croissant (my favorite), my partner got a cinnamon roll (his favorite), and then we each got one of their seasonal scones. I got the blackberry lemon lavender and he got the raspberry pistachio. We also ordered some of their seasonal specialty coffees. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the flavor of mine but I know I enjoyed it. My partner got one that almost made me think of an orange creamsicle - he was very pleased. This space gets busy quick, and it's obvious why! You should definitely stop in at Niedlov's if you're in Chattanooga.

I've been here only twice but the food and aesthetic never disappoints. When you enter you're greeted with neat merch and a wide variety menu with lots of coffee options and pastries. The staff is always so friendly and even though it tends to get crowded because the food is so good, you can usually find a spot to sit and enjoy your treats with both indoor and outdoor options. Whenever I visit I love stopping here for a snack and if you're smart, go early in the morning to get everything fresh and when all of the options are available as things sell out fast!

Everything is prepared with care every time we've been. We went early, and the line was surprisingly shorter than the last time we were there, which was around the corner the aesthetic both inside and out is charming. Staff is very friendly and happy to help you make a selection. This occasion we had their proper breakfast meals, but in the past, we've had their pastries, such as croissants, muffins, and cinnamon mine. All which have been outstanding. Definitely one of the better bakeries in the city

I was in town for a work trip, and this bakery was very close to my hotel. Stopped in the first morning and got a pastry, biscuit sandwich, and a hot latte to go. That was so good, I went back the second day and ate in. That day I tried their breakfast plate, and that was excellent. High praise for the bacon, which comes from the butcher shop next door. The fried potatoes were also great! I opted for their sourdough toast, and enjoyed it so much I got a loaf to take home when I left. Their coffee drinks are very good - I enjoyed my latte both days. Service was very prompt - you order at the counter and they will bring food to your table. I was there mid-morning on a Friday, and it was packed! It's a really nice vibe, with an outdoor patio and the indoor seating area. After eating here, I can understand why they were nominated for a James Beard award. If you are ever in Chattanooga, this is worth the effort! 5/5, would absolutely go back!

Stopped in on a weekday afternoon while visiting Chattanooga. As mentioned in my Honey Seed review, I learned that I am not a fan of Montreal bagels, but I think I liked this one a little more than the other. I also got a chocolate croissant, which was yummy. I was a little concerned when I couldn't find the chocolate inside, but it was there!! My gf got a gingerbread cookie, which smelled so strongly but she said didn't have a strong taste. We also got a loaf of sourdough bread, which was good but maybe not as sourdough-y as we were hoping for. It was pretty crowded but the employee who helped us was very nice. We just got the items to go but there's a nice little seating area and patio.

A great spot for breakfast. They have a great selection of sandwiches and skillets, as well as really cool pastries that I'd recommend trying. The outdoor area is very nice, just make sure you get there early as the line was out the door!

Everything about this place is top notch! Pizza night is only on Fridays from 5-9 and always packed. The beignets dessert is a must! The menu rotates with seasonal options in addition to their regular items. The pastries and breads are delightful and the breakfast sandwiches are perfection. We had the croissant omelette which was top notch!! This place stays busy, don't be intimidated by the line bc it moves quickly! The staff is incredibly friendly & helpful. Don't miss this gem!

Always a must stop on trips through Chattanooga (note: closed Sundays!) They have pizza on Fridays but the real gems are the baked goods. Saffron croissants, yes please! The raspberry croissants and scones are delicious. The seeded bread reminds me of my favourite German bakeries. So so good!

Niedlov's is such a great spot in Chattanooga! The space is cozy inside with lots of light and has an outdoor patio as well. It gets very busy (it's popular because it's so good!) and there's often a line, but at off hours, there's often seats. Here are some of my faves: Apple caramel danish (seasonal): amazing! Whipped cream and caramel on top, stuffed with apples and apple cream cheese inside Raspberry pistachio scone: perfect balance of pistachios and raspberry (to me, that means heavy on the pistachios!) Very natural flavors with big pieces of pistachio within the scone. Gruyere bacon chive scone: buttery, savory, delicious Pistachio stick: laminated pastry, light with a pistachio frangipane and cream inside Cruffin: I tried the cookies & cream one--moister than others I've had and delightful. They change the flavor every week, I think. Brussels sprouts: This became a regular lunch for me (bacon, Brussels sprouts, ranch); tossing it in ranch dressing is genius English muffins: So plush and fluffy! Soaks up butter really well. Delightful! Miso kale and shiitake skillet- delicious, savory, and cheesy! Loved it--great depth of flavor The sourdough bread is also great! The Friday night pizza was delicious as well, although quite oily. Honestly, you can't go wrong with the menu here--I only wish I'd tried even more things. Staff can be very friendly and generous, and they have a shelf with half-price breads as well as a pastry happy hour. This spot is truly a gem!

    Apricot pan suisse

The pastries here are some of the best I've ever eaten. We had to visit twice during our visit to Chattanooga because it was so good. The flaky crunch on the apricot pan suisse was mindblowing and the everything bagel was transcendent.

Absolutely loved this cafe to bits! It had been on my list for a while now and I finally got a chance to visit. There was a wait because it was a weekend but it wasn't too bad. I ordered the seeded sourdough, a sourdough sandwich, chai, a cookie (whose name I'm forgetting) sweet and savory scones. Everything was was crazy delicious! I'm not even a sandwich person and I thoroughly enjoyed it, even wanting seconds lol. The chai was so refreshing. The scones were indescribably flavorful. I could literally visit this bakery everyday if I lived closer. Worth the journey and a revisit!

Since everything in the Bluff View Art District's hours are limited, make sure you call first to see what their hours are for the day. They have a fabulous assortment of fresh-baked and delicious breads and sweet treats. My favorite is the challah bread. It's so soft, fluffy and very pleasant tasting. Rembrandt's Coffee House around the corner from them also sells their breads and baked goods, so you have a second option if Bluff View Bakery is closed. You have parallel street parking and there is also a private lot beside the store. Delicious adventures await!

Was told have to goto a separate building to find ice. When I arrived at the next building the ice machine was empty. So this is just the beginning! So woke up the next morning and no food or breakfast is located in the three or more buildings. You have to walk about a city block away. When you arrive for breakfast your food is delivered in a cardboard box - which was actually gross ! You will NOT wake up to fresh coffee, orange juice or anything in the common area. You will find all areas are locked except for a very cold room with an actual church Pugh bench in the common area. Next I return to the room and the maids were outside. I asked for extra bathroom towels and was told "can only give you more towels in exchange for your dirty towels. I also asked for another blanket to sleep with and the maid states " now I have to goto the other building for that". Later that day I turned on the shower, the shower knob was stuck on all hot, and could not even take a three minute shower. The actual room had a small television in the wall, behind the television was a curtain. I moved the curtain back to find a huge hole on the wall (where and old tv was filled with dust). Tony's pasta restaurant (onsite) was a sodium filled nightmare. Tried the pasta- over cooked , the meatballs were unetiable. Not sure where the chef was from but I am certain nobody could ever say anything positive about the menu. Purely disappointed and disgusting. The owner was so mean and rude! View more

It was getting late and I was also tired of walking around the city, so I wanted to find a place that I could drive to easily that would have accessible, free parking, and that was still open -- many bakecafes had already closed. A quick Yelp search revealed this place as a great option! I scooted on over and walked inside. Very friendly staff members, super welcoming. The place was clean and smelled AMAZING! No real seating inside but that's okay. They have a cooling drawer and a room temp drawer depending on the need of the pie. I'd say mostly dessert pies are available but they also have a nice selection of quiches and pot pies. Flavors/varieties rotate depending on the day. They'd sold out of a few varieties when I arrived, but I was still able to get plenty of yumminess. They have a deal for four pies at a reduced cost so that's what I got! All pies are individual though you can preorder larger pies if you need one. Since I had the ~2 hour drive back home, I of course had to opt for non-refrigerated options. I wound up with a lemon blueberry chess pie, a chocolate bourbon pecan pie, a regular pecan pie, and a chocolate chess pie. Seriously, they were all delicious! Somewhat surprisingly, I'd say my favorite was the regular pecan pie. Don't get me wrong, pecan pie is a beloved pie of mine...just thought it would go to something with chocolate. But the amount of sweetness, the ratio of gooey inside to nutty outside...just so good! Each pie had a delightfully buttery, flaky crust. You really can tell the difference -- they're the real deal. Hubs and I split a mini pie each night for four nights and the quality really didn't suffer! I'd say they're the perfect size to split, though I'm sure I also could've devoured a whole one if left unattended, lol. Would love to try more flavors in the future. If you're in the area, give them a visit!

Our first visit was near their closing time, so there were not many items left. We did find a few we wanted to try. Our next visit was earlier in the day and the selection was significantly greater. I cannot identify everything we saw or even purchased, but I can tell you everything was quite good. The filled items had fillings like cheese, fruit, one was even ham and cheese. The others were more like sweet breads and muffins. It was very hard to limit ourselves when making our selections as everything looked so good. Tasting each item proved our eyes were good judges of flavor. Mary's Bakery is an unassuming bakery in an unassuming location that provides some excellent products.
