Milk & Honey absolutely lived up to the hype. We went for breakfast, and despite the fact that they don't take reservations, we didn't have to wait at all which already felt like a small miracle. Our server Katie was fantastic. Since it was our first visit and everything on the menu spoke to us, she helped steer us in the right direction. I ended up ordering the pistachio croissant, and honestly... I'd go back for that alone. It was warm, huge by croissant standards, and absolutely heavenly. I even grabbed another one to take home because Future Me deserved a little happiness too. We also tried the raspberry lemon danish, which was a delicious combo, but the pistachio croissant stole the show without breaking a sweat. We started with the poutine, and while it wasn't the traditional version I've had before, it was incredible. Instead of cheese curds blocks, it came with pulled pork and melted cheese, and somehow it just worked. Comfort food with a little Southern flair. For breakfast, we had the ham and cheese omelet with breakfast potatoes. It was exactly what you want it to be--classic, satisfying, and impossible to regret if that's your usual order. I also tried the Liquid Gold juice. Their juice selection is impressive, but I may have accidentally found my forever order on the first try. It was so refreshing, with just a hint of ginger. For a hot drink, I highly recommend the London fog. I'm not usually a tea fan but if you don't want coffee, this is an excellent option. Before we left, we picked up some of their salted caramels to go, and they make the perfect little gift... assuming you have enough self-control not to eat them all in the car. The vibe here is upscale southern diner. One of the signs on the wall said, "All are welcome, but you need to act right," and honestly, that's the kind of life advice we could all use. I also really appreciated that parking was free. In Chattanooga these days it's hard finding a place where you don't have to scan a QR code, download an app, and pay to park just to eat. Great food, great atmosphere, great service. Milk & Honey is absolutely worth a visit...and if you're debating the pistachio croissant, stop debating and just order it. Milk & Honey was one of the most popular brunch spots we visited in Chattanooga, and after eating there, I understand why. Be prepared for a wait, especially during peak brunch hours. We spent some time outside before being seated, but the food and service made it worth it. I stayed in my carrier throughout the meal and was able to join my humans indoors. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and never made us feel out of place. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was lively, and the service was attentive even though the restaurant was busy. Now for the most important part of this review. While enjoying brunch, I witnessed something I never expected to see: a baby goat riding around the restaurant in a pet stroller. At that moment, I realized Chattanooga may be one of the most pet-friendly places I've ever visited. Between the great food, kind staff, and unforgettable people-watching opportunities, Milk & Honey ended up being one of our favorite brunch stops of the trip. I came across this place on my way through town, the reviews were great and the photos looked good too, so why not. It was early in the morning so there wasn't a wait and I was greeted and sat at the bar ( my choice). I placed my drink order ( water) with lemon. The servers were nice and made many recommendations about their massive menu. Ultimately i decided on the Nashville hot chicken on a biscuit with"homemade" biscuit with a side of gravy and fruit. To their credit, they chicken was an entire breast of chicken which was very nice, the flavor was a 6/10 after reading all the glowing reviews about this place was a HUGE letdown. The biscuit was dry and had a very mealy texture and it wasn't buttered 3/10 for the biscuit. The side of white gravy was bland and did the sandwich no flavors ( Hahahaha!) The fruit cup was a medley of berries which were the previously frozen varieties. This meal fell flat for me. The best thing about this meal was all the pretty waitresses. Milk & Honey is known as the best of the best for brunch in Chattanooga, and after eating here I stand by that statement. I remember back in the day when Milk & Honey had late hours. One time my parents and I came here after dinner for their gelato, and it was so delicious. We were all very impressed with the consistency and how smooth it was. So I've only had their gelato after all these years. This time I came for brunch with a friend on Sunday morning. It was packed and we got on the waiting list for a table. Wait time wasn't too bad actually. My friend and I both ordered the Hodgepodge Hash and I subbed the sausage for chicken sausage. Everything was absolutely amazing. I wish I had come here sooner. I loved everything about my meal. It was flavorful, dynamic, full of texture. It had that spice from the serrano peppers, crispy and flavorful potatoes, and the sauce tied it all together. I love savory breakfast, and that was it. Now I'm hungry and missing my previous meal just writing about it haha. Afterwards, we got gelato! I was pleasantly surprised that the gelato came with two scoops because I originally just wanted the coffee flavored one. So I had a scoop of Coffee + Cream and Pistachio. Our gelato was so tasty. I love anything coffee so this one was good, and the Pistachio one was nice and light. It had a subtle Pistachio creamy taste. Just as before, the gelato was smooth, creamy, and full of flavor. Service was great, our waiter was very friendly and super helpful with our food preferences. I have no complaints at all about our experience, and I love every single thing we ordered. We got two juices the liquid gold and another I have forgotten. To eat i had the spicy chicken and waffles (5/5, dense waffles so you will be full!) Please take this review with a grain of salt. Today was probably not an exemplary day for Milk & Honey. Mother's Days are challenging, but I think where they hurt themselves the most is that they do not have a method to take reservations or even call ahead seating. Wait times were often in excess of an hour listening to other people waiting to be seated. That's a horrible experience on its face, and the management of this restaurant needs to do much much better or just close on Mother's Day. Next, we'll get to the food. I doubt it was a shining example of what they are capable of. I got the Shakshuka and it was mediocre. I'm not expecting it to be as good as what I would get in Tel Aviv, and I've had the real thing in Tel Aviv. But to be honest, the eggs came out nearly hard-boiled not poached. And the eggs are one of the stars of the show for this dish. If you don't get them right, the entire dish fails. Next will touch on the chicken and waffles. The observation from my tablemate was that it was dry and he didn't even eat it all. The same thing can be said for my other tablemate who had the chicken biscuit. The biscuit was exemplary, but the chicken was dry and actually overcooked. Then there were the omelettes, I don't believe they were impressive in any way and the people that ordered them agree. For those of us at the table that ordered coffee, it was rather strong. I normally like strong coffee, but this was borderline Turkish coffee, and there wasn't enough cream available to mask the potency. The service was also stretched thin. Our server, Destiny, did her best, but she was waiting too many tables. Having once been a waitermyself I have a special affinity for Service staff who are asked to do too much. We left her a good tip, but I'm sure she is capable of much better service than what she was allowed to deliver. Finally, the overwhelming crowd made the restaurant feel claustrophobic. The noise level was far too high, and we could barely hear one another at our table and we were sitting very close to one another. I don't place the blame on the kitchen, staff, or the wait staff, or even the greeters. This was a fail of management, plain and simple. They made no contingency plans for that many people and should have anticipated a larger crowd on Mother's Day. Management -I challenge you to do better!!! We will come back during a normal Service day to see if you can perform better, but I encourage you, as owners and managers, to stop setting your staff up for failure, which is what you did! read more

Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and the kind of meal that makes you slow down and actually enjoy your morning instead of just inhaling coffee and running out the door. They had unfortunately sold out of the cinnamon rolls (clearly I wasn't the only one with good taste), but the manager, Caroline, stepped in and took care of me with a thoughtful substitute without hesitation. This was a great lunch spot with an attached coffee and gelato spot. We came on a busy saturday, so there was a bit of a wait but it was not bad at all. There was indoor and outdoor seating, the indoor seating was a little cramped though. I had the fried chicken sandwich with the kale salad on the side. My husband and I enjoyed the Nashville location during a trip there a few years ago, so when we saw this location opened we decided to visit during our trip to Chattanooga. The parking lot is shared with a few other shops in the plaza, but we found a spot right up front as someone was leaving. When we stepped inside, the restaurant was very full and lively. We were greeted warmly and seated right away. Our waiter arrived a couple of moments later for our drink orders and asked if we'd been there before. We'd already viewed the menu online, so we were ready to place orders for our meals as well. My husband ordered the Rise & Shine juice, which is carrot, apple, ginger, and orange. He also ordered the chicken and waffles with berries on the side. I ordered a salted caramel latte and the sausage and peppers omelette with berries on the side. My husband's juice arrived quickly, and we waited only a few more minutes before our food was already being served. Not long after that, my latte arrived. All in all, the food was good. We didn't feel it was anything to rave about, but we were satisfied. I really wanted an omelette, which is why I made the selection I did. But the only thing I didn't love was that the sausage and peppers are mixed with red onion before being added to the omelette, and I'm just not a fan of the pungent flavor of red onion. It's just a personal preference. Thankfully, they were thinly sliced so it wasn't so off putting and I was able to enjoy my food. The latte was a little sweeter than you'd find at most coffee shops that I prefer, so I couldn't finish it but it was enjoyable. Definitely get the salted flavor but not in an overpowering way, which was nice. The two-person tables are pretty close together, so we could hear every word from the people next to us and their convo was a little interesting, so we didn't love that either... They also have a cute to-go area where the coffees are made and you can take a look at their pastries. We didn't get any, but they were cute. I got another Milk & Honey mug (after someone broke the previous one I had), and the ladies there were so sweet and gift wrapped it so nicely. If you come here, you definitely need to try out their tomato, hot pepper, and garlic jams! The dishes that we ordered didn't come with the jams so we asked for them on the side for an additional $2. My friend and I felt like the jams were the highlight of our meal. The tomato jam tasted of autumn flavors such as cinnamon and nutmeg. The hot pepper was a mild to moderate spice level. I ordered hot chicken and waffles as my entree, with home fries as a side. The hot chicken was good, crispy on the outside, and moist. Spice level was moderate. The waffles were kind of bland and not special, but they were fine with the syrup. This was the second time I tried shakshuka. I thought this version was much better than the first one I had tried at another American brunch place. This one had three eggs. The tomato sauce was more flavorful in terms of herbs and seasoning. I also ordered an iced burnt sugar latte to-go. The coffee was good and I enjoyed it, although I will say that the burnt sugar flavor was very very subtle if not nonexistent. Service was great! This place is quite popular for brunch. Be prepared to possibly endure a pretty chaotic dining experience. We stopped in on two different occasions: one to enjoy their craft coffee and cafe drinks, the next was for a scoop of their gelato. Both visits there was no greeting or "cheerfulness" from the attendants behind the ordering counter. They stood there, looking at us, as if they'd rather they not be there. Perhaps it was an off day for them each time. Nonetheless, for our first visit, we ordered a London Fog and a Milk and Honey Latte. Both were quite good, and the latte was very strong with espresso flavor. On the second visit, I ordered a scoop of their "Milk and Honey" gelato ($4.37). It was very good! Creamy, smooth, and flavorful with honey and cream. In all, decent visits with some room for growth regarding their take-out counter staff. Hands down - one of our favorite spots in Chattanooga! The staff here is top notch - starting at the door with welcoming hosts - all the way up to the managers who have their eye on the entire place. When we sat down there was some miscommunication about which server was assigned our table. Without missing a bit - the manager came over and apologized and offered us a complimentary appetizer which was very kind. We didn't want a big meal so he got us some coffees instead - which were delightful. The food was delicious and the server - once she knew she was our server lol - was incredible! She chatted with us about our visit - checked on us once our food came and even hand wrote a list of local places to try after we asked her for some recommendations. 10/10 would absolutely recommend this place and will be returning on our next trip! Super cute mid-century modern spot. The coffee here is amazing--definitely a highlight. Our server, Emily, was fantastic--attentive and accommodating, especially with my dietary needs. You can tell most of the ingredients are really fresh, which is always appreciated. That said, to me the food itself was pretty bland but I do prefer a lot of seasoning. I had to use my own hot sauce because theirs didn't add much flavor, it was more sweet than spicy, but once seasoned, my meal was good. My boyfriend felt the same--his food needed more flavor. If you're someone who prefers milder flavors or likes to season to taste, this would be a perfect fit for you. 100% coming back for more coffee! read more
