Paired with the rich, comforting tomato soup, it was the ultimate rainy-day meal. The food came out quickly, and everything was hot and delicious. As a sweet surprise, they brought me complimentary birthday beignets with strawberry sauce. They were light, fluffy, and the strawberry sauce was the perfect finishing touch. I'm new to Chattanooga Tennessee and I'm trying various restaurants I have picked based on menu and photos on yelp. Today I visited Kenny's for lunch. I ordered the croque Madame sandwich and some french fries. The sandwich was good, but would've preferred a nice layer of béchamel sauce. It seems they put maybe a little inside the sandwich? The fries were very good Perfect crispiness and texture. I will probably visit again to try other items on the menu. To be frank, we did not start off our morning with plans to dine at Kenny's. We were headed to a competitor on Chestnut but didn't know they only operated M-F! We had heard of Kenny's from our neighbor but hadn't taken the time to try. What a happy accident! Both were excellent but I think the next time we'd just split the croque madame! It is a very big sandwich! Very causal dining spot. We ordered the Breakfast Hash with avocado and cheese and the Classic Combo with eggs sunny side up, side of chorizo as the meat, potatoes, and biscuit as the bread. Service was very prompt. The only thing that was frustrating was it took the waitress 20 min to get jelly for the biscuit, by which I ate my whole meal. However, everything tasted fresh/homemade. What a great find! Our hotel had limited breakfast options which was a great thing because we discovered Kenny's. My boyfriend had the vegetable sandwich which he loved and my avocado toast with a tofu scramble was out of this world . It's been a bit since I had visited Kenny's and when I felt like a late Sunday afternoon breakfast break, I decided to swing on by. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great location on Market Street in one of the old store front's. Love the character of the old building with the high ceilings.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service as always was impeccable, and as I sipped on a tasty Bloody Mary, I perused the menu deciding what might most appeal. I opted to go with an old standard for this part of the country and ordered the biscuits and gravy, which came with a couple eggs on the side. The really unique thing was the biscuit, which was flat and square, great taste, just a really surprising look. The sausage gravy was good, not great, it had pellet size pieces of sausage, interesting look, but it was a distraction from a mouth feel and flavor perspective, it just didn't deliver like those big chunks of sausage I typically find in a great sausage gravy. Overall, a good experience, next time though I think I'll go with one of the sandwich offerings. read more

The food came out pretty quickly despite them being so busy. My omelet was so good. It was light and fresh and the béchamel sauce on top wasn't too heavy. The veggies in it were cooked perfectly and the omelet itself was nice and fluffy. I did get a side of their homemade hot sauce which was like a buffalo sauce but sooo much better. It went really well with the creaminess of the béchamel sauce. I got a biscuit for the side and it was fluffy and warm and came with apple butter. The apple butter was delicious. The greedy farmer sandwich was decadent. Two different types of meat, cheese and egg topped with arugula and apple butter on a biscuit. It was hearty and great flavors. The arugula added a refreshing touch to the sandwich. If we had known about this place when we first flew in, we would have definitely tried it a few times to enjoy more of the menu. Kenny's is always going to be on my list every time I come to the area. It's nowhere around it! We went bright and early, I think it was almost 8:00 in the morning so there were a lot of people there on a weekday. Sat out immediately, was able to pick whatever seats we wanted because there was nobody there. It's a really nice spot, has some indoor and outdoor depending on what you want to do as far as the weather I assume. If it's nice, you could definitely sit outside. It's not super decorated but it's more white in the background but that makes me look at it as if it's very clean there. Everything was speaking span when I came in. I didn't try the coffee but I hit at the coffee was great. They explain the menu to us and gave us some time to look over it and everything looked good. Really good. So good to where you really wanted to try four or five different things but you know that would be illogical lol! I did the breakfast burrito and the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits and gravy kind of look like a pound cake lol which was weird, because you used to a biscuit being shaped like a biscuit! The gravy didn't have as much sausage in it, but that's fine, they had little chunks of sausage but it still had a hell of a lot of flavor! Would I get it again, yes! For my main I got the breakfast burrito. It came without avocado but I'll eat avocado so have to leave that off. But I got it with chorizo and it was so well worth it. It got a little messy toward the end, because there was so much in it! As you can see in the picture, it's stuffed to the brim! This was a winner and I would definitely get this again if nothing else! Whenever I come to Chattanooga, Kenny's is going to be a thing! In the hotel we stayed at there were several people that said that Kenny's was the move, I feel like if these people live here, and they said, that means that it must be true! We opted to sit outside since we wanted to set up in an area that we could open up the computers and go a bit of research about the area. They said the Wifi works great outside, so perfect. We found a table, but none of them were clean yet. So we waited ... and waited ... then someone finally came out and looked at the table and said "OH, do you want me to clean that for you?" UH - no??? Come on - you even had to ask?? Then from there everything took forever - except once we did finally order things came out on time. 2) We opted for some sides: the mac n cheese and hash potatoes. I do not recommend these in any way! The mac n cheese was probably the worst MnC I've ever had. It was the smallest portion ever, the cheese base was basically warm milky water with some butter essence and some melted cheese on top with the pasta being way over cooked. The 'hash' was home fries deep fried alone and sad. They need to look up the meaning of 'hash' - cause this aint it. You should call them square fries instead. 3) The Bloody Mary was also lifeless as well. I'd skip it too! 4) Wifi :: didn't work for crap outside. Maybe it's better inside, but it kept kicking us out. I thought it was my computer at first, but hopped down the road to another spot and presto ... like magic! Worked great, so not my computer. I have been meaning to try this place for a while. So one day between working, I placed an order for pickup online and selected my pickup time. When the time came, I walked in to pick it up. There was supposed to be sauce? It was just egg, pico, cheese, lettuce, room temp tortilla. I kept wondering when the sauce would kick in. A large part of me ordering it was for the avocado. There was absolutely none until the very last bite when the smallest bit of green was stuck to the tortilla. I checked every bite. I would've went back and asked for sauce/avocado, but was long gone.
