Idk what everyone else is saying. We're in town for the weekend and went here twice. Great experiences each time. It was just two of us and we only got ice cream and snacks so it wasn't a huge ask. The blasts were loaded with chocolate goodies and the drinks were creamy and good as well. We didn't wait long. First time we went it was maybe 9pm and we ordered and were served within 10 minutes maybe. Second time took longer but we were in drive thru and it was close to closing time. Just wanna say some people come on here to complain about little things and have never worked food service in their lives. Gives these guys a break. It's fast food not Ruth's Chris. You can definitely tell this Sonic has seen better days. It needs and update badly. There are potholes in the parking lot that are huge. The paint, consoles you order from all need touching up. I used to go here all the time years ago after dance classes. They had the best popcorn chicken and that gravy was to die for. No longer the case. The dipping sauces are smaller, the food no longer as good. The popcorn chicken was very dry, seemed like it was old and reheated. Definitely not fresh outta the oil. I got tater tots instead of the fries I ordered. No big deal, I like tater tots as well, but they were very salty. I love me some salt, so that says something. I understand that one shouldn't expect things to be perfect when getting fast-food, especially during a pandemic. Which would probably explain why my friends and I had to sit in the car and wait for an attendant to take our order for a very long time. But we actually never got spoken to. We did notice that the drive thru line was moving so we thought "ok we can walk through the line since they aren't answering in the parking spots." and so we tried that. As we were waiting we noticed one of the workers was staring at us. We didn't think too much of it, maybe she thought she knew us? It's a small world. What was odd though is she parked in one of the spots where customers would need to place an order even though she was working. But maybe that is the protocol for this sonic location. She stared at us until she got back inside the sonic building (and coincidentally the drive thru line began moving again when she got back inside). When we finally got up to order, a voice came on saying "can't walk through the drive thru." And that's fine, those are the rules. But it felt as though the person behind the mic was angry/fed up or annoyed with us even though we hadn't done anything before this mishap. Maybe she was having a bad day? Surely that is the reason she spoke with such malice. My friends and I got out of the drive thru and back into our cars and tried pressing the assistance buttons again. Still no answer. But then after sitting there for 5 minutes it looked like a manager was approaching my friend's car. I was worried we were getting in trouble for walking through the line, and if that was the case I wanted to stand by my friend 1. for moral support, and 2. because I would have also been guilty. So I got out of my car and asked what was going on. The manager yelled "I'm not talkin to you!!" and turned back to my friend. Of course she wasn't originally talking to me but she didn't have to yell at me did she? After being yelled at I thought that maybe if I place an order they'd spit in my food or something. So we left. And as we drove off we noticed that the girl working the drive thru was the same girl who parked in a service spot and stared at us. She literally watched us stand in the drive thru line and waited until it was our turn to order to let us know we couldn't actually order. Had she spoken to us instead of staring, maybe we could have avoided some of the events of the night. In summary, the service was the worst i've ever experienced in all of my life. I will never go back. Every time it's a 20 minute wait and the food is always wrong. Today I gave them another chance and I was so frustrated I left without getting anything. I was running out of time, so I started driving away and the person who had been waiting at the window rolled down their window as he began driving away too. I had to laugh when I saw the grand opening of the very first Sonic in New England. The parking lot was completely packed and the line to get in was literally on the shoulder of the road and about a quarter of a mile long. I wish I had taken a picture of the hilarious chaos. Okay, it's not that good, emphasis on the word "that". Sonic is pretty good though, for what it is. In my opinion, it's better than Whataburger. It's always been kind of a go-to for fast food because it's really a lot better than most fast food burger places. The service is prompt, prices are reasonable, and they have a great selection of regular or flavored drinks, shakes, slushes and Sundays. This one is pretty much the same as most others. The carhops skate out with your food about 5 minutes after you order. The food is decent and you can sit there in your car and eat, sit at one of their picnic tables, or drive off. There's never a line here in the South. The value menu, breakfast menu and regular menu all have a good variety. I usually get a chili burger or chili cheese coney, but if I'm in the mood for just a snack, I'll get a corn dog or mozzarella sticks. I love the chicken tender box as well because I like dipping the tenders into their gravy. I'm especially hooked on the red velvet cheesecake shake and the pumpkin pie shake, which are both seasonal. In the summer, I have to settle for peach or mango tea. I'm assuming most Southerners are pretty familiar with Sonic. If you're from a part of the country that doesn't have one, drive past Wendy's, McDonald's and Burger King and give Sonic a try. read more

It's Sonic. What do you expect? The food is cheap, fast and bad for you. It tastes delicious when you're intoxicated or under the age of 17 and that's it. On the positive side they're open until midnight I think which is four hours later than most places in Daphne or Fairhope. read more
